The Rashiyanka dasha gives very good results in predicting marriage and children when it is applied along with Vimshottari dasha. In this post i will give some of the examples of my experience in this matter.

In this example the lagna lord Mercury is in the Rashi and Navamsha of its friendly planet Venus. I saw this horoscope of businessman sometimes in the last week of January 2013 and he asked me questions about his marriage and property matter. His marriage was getting delayed for some reason. I immediately calculated the Rashiyanka dasha on a piece of paper at front of him.

In Rashiyanka dasha he was under Scorpio-Scorpio period then. Scorpio having his Darakarakaraka Sun was showing the prospects of marriage. The Upapada was also falling in the 7^th house from Scorpio. However, the Darakaraka was along with Ganatikaraka Venus and Rahu. The Scorpio being the rashi of 6^th house from his lagna was also  giving him some health problems then. In Navamsha the Scorpio is the 7^th house with Venus the natural karaka of marriage place there confirming the promise of marriage again during this dasha. The coming anterdashas of Sagittarius and Capricorn were looking good to give matrimonial alliance. The Sagittarius is the 7^th house from lagna and in Navamsha it is receiving the aspect of Darakaraka Sun.  The Capricorn and 7^th from it are under the aspect of Darakaraka in the Rashi chart. So I gave him a prediction of marriage during the year 2013. He got married on 18^th of May 2013 during the operation of Rashiyanka dasha of Scorpio-Capricorn in his chart.

He had also asked me a question about property matter then. His Matrikaraka Moon was giving aspect to the 11^th house from the running dasha Scorpio. The 4^th Pada was in Scorpio itself. Observing these things I gave him a prediction of settlement of property issue during 2013 and it exactly happen.

Later he was blessed with a baby girl on 26^th of February 2014 during his Rashiyanka dasha of Scorpio-Gemini. The Putrakaraka Jupiter giving aspect to the 5^th house from sub period rashi Gemini is amply explaining this important event of his life. Now he is under the Rashiyanka dasha of Sagittarius (November 2014 to November 2017) which is showing the prospects of gain in career and property matters. The Amatayakaraka Mars is strongly place in the 11^th house from Sagittarius along with Atamakaraka Mercury in making a very good yoga. The Matrikaraka Moon is giving aspect to dasha rashi from its 4^th house. I have given this native an astrological forecast about success in commercial venture during the operation of this Sagittarius Rashiyanka dasha. The possibility of the birth of second child is also visible here in the end of 2017 during this dasha of Sagittarius which is having the aspect of Putrakaraka Jupiter on its 5^th house. The 5^th Pada falling in Sagittarius rashi give more confirmation about it.

This Taurus lagan chart is of a young engineer. A question was asked about his marriage sometime in year 2013. His lagan lord is Vargottama in its friendly sign Aquarius so I applied Rashiyanka dasha on this chart.

Earlier I had made a wrong prediction on this chart while using the Chara dasha. So later I decided to apply Rashiyanka dasha along with Vimshottari to see the prospects of his marriage. In the Rashiyanka dasha the period of Gemini-Gemini ( from March 2014 to October 2014) was giving clear indication of the changes of getting married. Gemini rashi and 7^th from it were under the aspect of his Darakaraka Moon in the Rashi chart. The Upapada was in the 7^th house from dasha rashi Gemini. I predicted that the marriage of this native will happen  in year 2014. He got married on 2^nd November 2014 during the Rashiyanka dasha of Gemini-Cancer in operation. The sub period rashi Cancer was receiving the aspect of Venus, holding the natural signification of spouse, in both Rashi and Navamsha chart.

In the Aries lagan chart of this young lady Mars is in its friendly sign Pisces and is in own Navamsha Scorpio fulfilling the eligibility criteria for applying Rashiyanka dasha. Her horoscope was given to me by her mother sometime in January 2012. A question about her progeny was asked at that time.

The aspect of Amatayakaraka Venus on the dasha rashi Sagittarius ( 1992 to 2004) shows her early start in  career. In the next dasha of Capricorn having her Darakaraka she got married on 27 November 2007. The Capricorn is also the 7^th house from her Upapada. Sometimes in the end of year 2008 she gave birth to a baby boy during the Rashiyanka dasha of Aquarius having her Putrakaraka Mercury.

Her mother asked about the possibility of her second child birth in January 2012 when she was under the Rashiyanka dasha of Aquarius-Cancer (December 2011 to September 2012) in her chart. Earlier she had trouble in conceiving during the sub period of Gemini having her Ganatikaraka Saturn in the 5^th from it. Now the sub periods of Cancer and Leo were promising progeny very clearly. The Cancer is under the aspect from Putrakaraka Mercury and also Jupiter which is the natural karaka for child birth. Leo is the 5^th house in Rashi chart having her 5^th Pada place in it. So I safely predicted pregnancy in the end of year 2012 and child birth sometime in 2013. She became mother of a baby boy again on 13^th of July 2013. The birth of her second child was during the Rashiyanka dasha of Aquarius-Virgo. The 5^th house from Virgo is under the auspicious aspect of Jupiter.

In the dasha of Libra she got a very good job in an IT company. The Amatayakaraka Mars giving aspect to the 11^th house of Libra explains it. Now her father was looking for a nice groom for her to get settle down in married life. Her Darakaraka Venus was having afflictions from malefic planets in the Rashi chart. Looking from Parashari angle there were combination of some delay in the marriage in her chart. She was under the Vimshottari dasha of Jupiter-Jupiter then and sub period of Saturn was coming from June 2014.

In Rashiyanka dasha the Libra-Gemini (September 2014 to December 2014) and the Libra-Cancer ( December 2014 to March 2015) were both  promising her marriage. The Upapada was in the 7^th house from Gemini and the Darakaraka was in the 7^th from Cancer.  I told her father that she will only get married in the second half of 2014 and the groom will be of her choice. She introduces a boy, whom she liked, to her family sometime in the mid of 2014 and later a date was fixed for the marriage to be solemnized in the first quarter of 2015. In Navamsha the Darakaraka Venus is influencing maha dasha rashi  Libra and  also the anter dasha rashi Cancer .

Now I am taking the charts of a couple which was passed on to me by my neighbourer for predicting progeny in there case.This couple got married some time in the mid of year 2009 and their charts were given to me around March 2012.It has been almost three years that they were married and the wife failed to conceive. They were coming from a traditiaonal family from a small town so  it was understood that there was some pressure on them to have a baby at the earliest.I examinted both the horoscope carefully and predicted childbirth in year 2013.In the chart of both the couples the Rashiyanka dasha was applied along with Vimshottari.

She got married in Virgo-Libra Rashiyanka dasha sometimes in the mid of year 2009. The Darapada is in 7^th house from Virgo. The dasha rashi Virgo is also the 7^th house of Navamsha chart. In Rashi chart  sub period rashi Libra and 7^th from it is receiving the aspect of Darakaraka Moon . The Upapada is also place in Libra.  In Navamsha the Darakaraka was giving aspect to the 7^th house from Libra.

The Ganatikaraka Mars palce in the 5^th house from running dasha Rashi Virgo was giving her trouble in conceiving. However, the Putrakaraka Saturn was giving its aspect to the 5^th house from Virgo giving an assurance of child birth during this dasha. She was running with Virgo-Capricorn period in Rashiyanka dasha when I saw her chart in March 2012. I also examined the Vimshottari dasha in which Jupiter-Ketu was running then and Venus sub period was about to come from  February 2013. Venus was conjoined with the 5^th lord Mercury in Rashi chart and in Saptamsha it was well place in the 5^th house.

In Rashiyanka dasha the Virgo-Aquarious ( October 2012 to October 2013) and then Virgo-Pisces also giving assurence of child birth. Aquarius has Jupiter and the Pisces was receiving the aspect of Putrakaraka Saturn at its 5^th house. I predicted child birth in year 2013. She become pregnant in February 2013 and a baby was born in the end of year 2013.

At the time of marriage in the mid of 2009 he was under the Rashiyanka dasha of Scorpio which is receiving the aspect of his Darakaraka Venus on its 7^th house. In Navamsha the Scorpio is having the Darakaraka place in it. It was the case of love marriage for the couple.

I examined this horoscope in March 2012 in the light of the child birth query. The Putrakaraka Sun was giving aspect to the 5^th house from Sagittarius so it’s dasha was promising child birth. The Sagittarius Rashiyanka dasha was ending in September 2013 through the next dasha of Capricorn was also promising the child birth since Putrakaraka was giving aspect to this sign. In Vimshottari the Jupiter-Saturn period starting from December 2012 was confirming the same. The joint analyses of the charts of this couple through Rashiyanka dasha and Vimshottari made possible for me to give them a correct prediction of child birth.

 

In my article ‘Method of calculating Rashiyanka Dasha’ I have demonstrated the dasha calculation scheme of this conditional dasha using two example horoscopes. Now here in this post I   will take the horoscope of my childhood friend to show how to apply this Rashi dasha and give predictions using Jaimini Karaka’s. I have use Rashiyanka Dasha on the given below  chart of one of my friend over last few years and have given some correct predictions about his marriage, career, child birth and father’s death. This case study will show the readers how to use this Rashi Dasha along with Vimshottari Dasha in the charts where the lord of lagna is strong. As i had discuss in my earlier post that Rashiyanka dasha is a conditional dasha which is applicable on the horoscope where the lord of lagna is strong.

In the Makar lagna chart of this person the lagna lord Saturn is in its friendly Rashi Virgo. In  Navamsha the Saturn goes into its own sign Capricorn. So the chart becomes eligible for the application of the  Rashiyanka Dasha as per the hypothesis I have discuss above. The Dasha will start from the Navamsha sign of the lagna lord Saturn which is Capricorn. The order of the Dasha will be direct; Capricorn, Aquarious, Pisces, Aries, Taurus and so on. The number of years for each sign will be calculated as we do in the case of ‘Mandooka Dasha’.

In case of odd sign the counting will be in  direct order from the Rashi to its lord. In case of even sign the countring will be in indirect order from the Rashi to its lord. If the lord of a Rashi is place in the seventh house from its Rashi then ten years will be given. If the lord is place in the Rashi it self then full twelve years will be given to the Dasha Rashi.

The anterDashas will always move in the sequence  of maha Dasha i.e. in direct order only. So the Dasha order is invariably direct but the counting can be direct and indirect depending on odd and even Rashis is a principal that should be kept in mind without failing.

In the example horoscope the Dasha will proceed from Capricorn which is the Navamsha sign of the lagna lord Saturn. The number of years for each Rashi will be calculated in the Rashi chart and Dasha will proceed in the direct order.

The native is of a small trader  dealing in Hardware and Sanitary iteams. He joined his family business at a very young age of 18 years when he was under the Rashiyanka Dasha of Pisces which is receiving  the aspect of his Amatayakaraka Mars. He also faced family disputes and health troubles during this Pisces period which is clear from the joint aspect of Ganatikaraka Moon and Darakaraka Saturn here on the Dasha Rashi. Due to family trouble he went into depression and had to take a psyschiatrist  treatment from a very young age.

In year 2010 there was a major crisis in his life when his younger sister got hospitalized due to tuberclosis and  later went into a phase of chronic mental illness. His mother also fell seriously ill during  the same year and passed away on 5^th of  May 2010. It was the period of Taurus-Cancer ( August 2009 to August 2010 ) in Rashiyanka Dasha in his chart. The Matrikaraka is Mercury here which is placed  in the sub period Rashi Cancer itself and giving aspect to the mahaDasha Rashi Taurus. The 4^th pada is in Aquarious which falls in the 8^th house from the sub period Rashi Cancer.

After three months of the death of his mother the  maternal uncle of this native pressurise him to get marry at the earliest  citing the reason that  there was no women at his home now  which can take care of his ailing younger sister. The native  got engaged to a girl in Taurus-Leo period ( August 2010 to August 2011) some time in the last week of August 2010. Taurus have ‘Darapada’ in its 7^th house which is Scorpio. In the Navamsha the Darakaraka Saturn is giving aspect to Taurus and 7^th house from it. However, the sub period Rashi Leo is the 8^th house and the Darakaraka falls in the 6^th from it in the Navamsha chart. During the period of courtship the native had a serious quarrel with the girl. The girl’s family  broke the engagement on the 24^th of October 2010 and the boy went into depression because of this setback. It was during Taurus-Leo-Libra in Rashiyanka Dasha. Libra is the 8^th house from Karakamsha and 7^th house from his Upapada. The Darakaraka Saturn falls in the 12^th from Libra Rashi.

Nevertheless, the family of this  boy soon find out another  girl for him and against his wishes  he was put into a relationship of marriage on the 17^th of May 2010. It was Taurus-Leo-Taurus period  running in Rashiyanka Dasha at that time. The native become father of a baby girl on 16^th of March 2012 during the Rashiyanka Dasha of  Taurus-Virgo-Aries in his chart. The Putrakaraka Venus is giving aspect to the 5^th house from Taurus which is Virgo the sub period Rashi it self. When the Dasha Rashi’s or the fifth house from it are influenced by the Putrakaraka or Jupiter at the time of marriage then there is a possibility that there might be the birth of a  child  in next one year  if the couple essentially wanted the same.However, an astrologer must also take into consideration the socio-cultural  background  of the  natives  before giving any prediction  about the child birth as in modern urben society the couples generally avoid  becoming parents in the first 3-4 years of their marriage or relationship.

This native is my former  schoolmate and now consult me for his horoscope since many years. He asked me about his property dispute, releated with a costly commercial land, with his paternal uncle some time in the last quarter of year 2013. He was under the Taurus-Scorpio ( August 2013 to August 2014) Rashiyanka Dasha at that time. I predicted him that he will be able to resolve the dispute amicably, with out fileing  a law suit,  and the land will be registered at his name in the first half of year 2014. The astrologicaly basis of my prediction was very simple. The Amatayakaraka Mars was influencing the 11^th house of gain from both the Dasha Rashi’s Taurus and Scorpio. So the gain in profession was amply clear from running Dasha periods. The Matrikaraka, which is  Mercury here, signifying property/land  was giving aspect to both Taurus and Scorpio sign. Additionally the 4^th pada was in Aquarious  the 10^th house from Taurus and the 4^th house from Scorpio. How could he have lost the land in a dispute during such a favorable Dasha periods?

The native was able to settle the dispute of land through negotiations with his uncle and paid him some amount  to get the title in his name.The  property  registered in his name  on the 3^rd of March 2014. It was during the Taurus-Scorpio-Taurus period in the Rashiyanka Dasha.

Later I cautioned him to be careful about the health of his father. I specifically told him that the months of March-April 2015 will be very bad for his father as two eclipses will fall exactly on his chart’s 3-9 axis then. In Rashiyanka Dasha the  sub period of Sagittarious was coming from August 2014. The Sun was falling in the 8^th house from Sagittarious. The Bhatrikaraka Jupiter in the 9^th house from Sagittarious and the 9^th Pada falling in the 6^th house from this sub period Rashi was giving an indication of serious trouble for his father. My prediction about his father’s illness also come out true. After  August 2014 his father’s health started  deteriorating  due to multipal aliments and he was unable to live a normal life. In the morning of  8^th of April 2015, exactly 4 days after the lunar eclipse which fall at  his 9^th house , his father passed away.It was an emotional set back for him

Nevertheless, from the point of view of career this Sagittarious sub period proved good for him as he constructed a new showroom at the commercial land he got earlier. The Amatayakaraka is giving aspect to Sagittarous from its 10^th house explains this. A Dasha might be bad in one aspect of life but it may give excellent results in other area of life.

How to predict education and career from Rashiyanka Dasha

In the two case studies given here I will expalin how we can predict rise and fall in career using Rashiyanka Dasha very easily.

So the Rashiyanka Dasha can be applied on this horoscope as per the hypothesis I have discuss above. The Dasha will start from Libra, which is the Navamsha sign of lagna lord here, and move in direct order.

This native had to leave his studies in 1996 due to an economic crisis in his family. His father, who was working in the Delhi Transport Corporation then, suspended from his job after some dispute and was fighting a court battle to get his job back. It was during the Rashiyanka Dasha of Sagittarius (from 1992 to 2002) when the family of this native was facing a financial crunch. In Rashi chart the Sagittarius, which is notorious for bringing upheavals in life,  is the  6^th house from the Atamakaraka which is Venus here. The  Bhatrikaraka, which is Moon here, is giving aspect to the 12^th house from Sagittarius showing   a period of losses for his father.

Soon he continued his studies from an open school and also started earning by doing a small business of automobile at a very young age of just 18 years. The Amatayakaraka Mars is place in the 11^th house from the Dasha Rashi Sagittarius in the Rashi chart explains it. Then the Rashiyanka Dasha of Capricorn started from September 2002 in which he got the job in an IT company in a technical profile of computer hardware engineer for the maintenance of systems. See the placement of Amaytayakaraka in the 10^th house from Capricorn showing this important change in his career. Ketu place in the Dasha Rashi Capricorn gave him a job in the field of computers.

The native got married on 17^th of November 2003 during his Rashiyanka Dasha of Capricorn-Pisces ( from July 2003 to November 2003). In the Rashi chart the Capricorn is the 7^th house from his Atamakaraka Venus. The sub period Rashi Pisces is receiving the aspect of his Darakaraka Jupiter. Pisces is also the 7^th house from his Upapada.  In Navamsha chart the Darakaraka is place in the Capricorn itself. Venus, the natural Karaka of spouse, is in the sub period sign Pisces in the Navamsha chart making it amply clear.

The 5^th house from Capricorn is under the aspect of Ganatikaraka

Mercury in both Rashi chart and Saptamsa so there had to be some trouble in the progeny of the wife of this native during this Dasha period. His wife had a miscarriage on 10 May 2005 when he was under the Rashiyanka Dasha of Capricorn-Cancer  (  February 2005 to July 2005) in his chart. The Atamakaraka is in Cancer in both Rashi chart and Saptamsa chart.

Later he was blessed with a baby girl on 22 January 2007 during his Rashiyanka Dasha of Capricorn-Scorpio. In the Rashi chart the 5^th house from Scorpio is under the aspect of  Putrakaraka Saturn.

This is the chart of my friend who asked me a question about his career in January 2013. He was working in a technical profile in a mobile repair service center of Samsung. He was under the Rashiyanka Dasha of Aquarius-Libra ( January 2013 to September 2013) then. Aquarius is the 8^th house from the Atamakaraka in Rashi chart. From the sub period sign Libra the Atamakaraka was place in the 10^th house showing an anxiety towards career. Libra also had his Amatayakaraka planet conjoined with Ganatikaraka showing the coming disputes at work place. The 10^th Pada was in Pisces falling in the 6^th house from the sub period Rashi Libra.  I predicted him a loss of job during the operation of this Libra sub period due to some quarrel in the office.

He had serious disputes with his bosses in the next couple of months and later he left his job sometime in the August 2013. The next question was asked by him about getting the new job. This was easy for me to predict as now the sub period of Scorpio had arrive from 26^th of September 2013. The Amatayakaraka Mars is giving aspect to the 10^th house from Scorpio so he was expected to get the new job very quickly. He got the new job in a travel agency and joined there in the first week of December 2013. Now he will get the Rashiyanka Dasha of Pisces from September this year. I have already predicted him about another job change as his Amatayakaraka will be falling in the 8^th from Dasha Rashi Pisces.

Before I proceed to give some more practical cases, I would like to pause here to make clear an important point for readers. In making an astrological analysis of a horoscope for applying any kind of Rashi Dasha one must first thoroughly examine the Raj Yoga’s and Dhan Yoga’s as per classics. I would advocate readers to read the Raj Yoga’s and Dhan Yoga given by Saga Parashara and MahaRashi Jaimini in their respective texts. In the Raj Yoga Adhaya in Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra and in Jaimini Sutras the sages have considered Atamakaraka , Amatayakaraka , Putrakaraka and 5^th lord mainly in the  making of Raj Yoga’s . The conjunction or mutual aspect of Moon and Venus is also considered as a good Raj Yoga. The conjunction or mutual aspect of lagna lord and 5^th lord is taken as a Raj Yoga as per Jaimini Sutras.

 The noticeable point is that ‘Darakaraka’ has not been taken for conferring any Raj Yoga. Neither Sage Parashara nor MahaRashi Jaimini has given any Raj Yoga by Darakaraka.  I also don’t use Darakaraka for making any Jaimini Raj Yoga in a horoscope and only take the Raj Yoga’s propounded by Sage Parashara and MahaRashi Jaimini in their respective texts. The Darakaraka should be used as the karaka for spouse, marriage, relationships, death and serious illness. I have observed that when Darakaraka get associated with Atamakaraka and/or Ganatikaraka then it can give serious illness during the concerned Dasha period. In this paper I have not used Darakaraka for making any kind of Jaimini Raj Yoga is the point which I wanted to make clear.

This young man got admission in the course of Electronic engineering in year 2002. It was the Rashiyanka Dasha of Aries ( 2001 to 2006 ) operating in his chart then. The fifth house from Aries has  Amatayakaraka Mars along with  Venus under the aspect of Putrakaraka Saturn and Sun. It confirm professional  education in a technical field during the Dasha of Aries. He complted his engineering course in July 2006 during the Aries-Pisces period in Rashiyanka Dasha. The Amatayakaraka Mars giving aspect to the 10^th house from Aries and 11^th house from Pisces ensured an  immediate placement for him. However, since the Amatayakaraka Mars was falling in the 6^th house from the sub period sign Pisces it also gave him serious disputes  with his boss.

 

Then came the Rashiyanka Dasha of Taurus which gave him a new job in technical profile in the HCL which is  a very  reputed  IT company. He joined HCL in March 2007 and since then he is working there only. The Amatayakaraka Mars is giving aspect to the 12^th house from Taurus showing change in job. In Dashamsha the Amatayakaraka is place in Aquarious the 10^th house from Dasha Rashi Taurus which is excellent. Moreover, Taurus is the 10^th house from Karakamsha. Also notice here that Taurus has two benefic planets, Jupiter and Venus,  in Kendra from it in the Rashi chart and two malefics Sun and Saturn are in the 6^th house from it  which gives this Dasha Rashi a great strenght.

His new  job was in Bangalore and he had to stay away from home most of the time for the next few years. He got very good promotions in his job and later  in year 2013 his company sent him to USA on some project. Since then he is travelling to USA very  frequently. The Amatayakaraka Mars and Matrikaraka Jupiter giving aspect to the 12^th house (foreign) from the Dasha Rashi Taurus showing his long stay away from home  in a foreign country.

The native is a post graduate in economics from Delhi University. He was struggling in his career during the Rashiyanka Dasha of Aries.In the first half of this Dasha he was in a private  job.In  the second half of Aries Rashiyanka Dasha he started a business of virtual events and failed to establish it properly. Aries is the 8^th house from his Karakamsha lagna. The Ganatikaraka is place in the 10^th house from Aries showing obstructions in career.Although the Amatayakaraka was well place in the 11^th house from Aries but at the same time it was giving aspect to the 8^th house of this Dasha Rashi which was not a welcome thing.

He close down his business of virtual event and went to Canada on the immigration visa with his family ( wife and two children) in May 2012. The immigration visa was applied in the name of  his spouse who was in government job then. It happen during the Rashiyanka Dasha of Taurus which is the Rashi of 12^th house here. The Taurus is also the 10^th house from his Pada lagna.  The Amatayakaraka Saturn, Matrikaraka Moon and Darakaraka Mars all are giving aspect to the 12^th house from Dasha Rashi Taurus expalining this event amply.

When I saw this chart in 2013 I told the wife of this native that her husband will not be able to settle in a proper career there.My prediction was based on  the presence of Atamakaraka in the running Dasha Taurus along with malefic Rahu. Moreover the Ganatikaraka was giving aspect to the Dasha Rashi Taurus in Rashi chart and in Dashamsha the Taurus is taking the lordship of 8^th house. The Dasha of Atamakaraka has to give him a difficult time. The native could not get an establish job  there and family started  toying with the idea of coming back to India again.

This native is in the field of software marketing and at present holding a very good position in an IT company. He discuss his horoscope with me way back in December 2011.He was then running with the Rashiyanka Dasha of Pisces-Leo ( 4 December 2011 to March 2012). I gave him a prediction at that time that  between the March and June 2012 the situation will take such a turn that he may have to change his job. He was a bit surprise at this astrological reading of mine. My reasoning was based on the study of Vimshottari, Chara Dasha and Rashiyanka Dasha combine on his chart. In Rashiyanka Dasha the Pisces-Virgo period was going to start from 4^th of March 2012.

 

The sub period Rashi Virgo has his Atamakaraka Venus there  receiving the aspect of malefics Rahu and Ganatikaraka Saturn. The Amatayakaraka Mercury was in the 6^th house from Dasha Rashi Pisces and it was in the 12^th hosue from the anterDasha Rashi Virgo showing the strong possibility of a job change. Additionally the Dasha Rashi Pisces is the 6^th house from Pada lagna Libra and the anter Dasha Rashi Virgo is the 12^th house from Pada lagna.

Incidently his company got trapped into debts and he had to left his job in June 2012 after serving the notice period of 2 months. He consulted me again and I predicted him that he will get a new  job either in the last quarter of year 2012 when the Pisces-Scorpio period will be there in Rashiyanka Dasha. The Scorpio has the 10^th Pada  in it. The Amatayakaraka Mercury was well place in the 10^th house from Scorpio. He got the new job in October 2012 only.

In the next Dasha of Aries he got very good promotions in his job and now he is earning very handsomely. He also took admission in the PHD course during this Dasha of Aries. The  Aries is the 9^th house from his Karakamsha. The Amatayakaraka Mercury is giving aspect to Aries from its fifth. The 10^th house from Aries has Putrakaraka  which is  reciving the aspect of Amatayakaraka to form a good Jaimini Raj Yoga there.

This is the chart of girl who is a qualified Charted Accountant and was preparing for the Indian Civil Services competition in year 2013.Her chart was given to me by someone in June 2013 for predicting her career prospects. I calculated Rashiyanka Dasha on her chart after finding her lagna lord Moon in its Moola Trikona Rashi Taurus and friendly Navamsha sign Gemini.

This young lady got married some time in year 2012 when she was under Virgo-Taurus Rashiyanka Dasha in her chart. She was then working on a very good position in the famous audit company Prime Waterhouse Coopers (PWC). But at the instance of her in-laws she had to leave her high paying job immediately after her marriage. See the placement of Darakaraka Mars in the 7^th house of Taurus showing marriage and Amatayakaraka Mercury falling in the 8^th from this sub period Rashi explaining the discontinuance from career.

When I saw this chart she was under the period of Virgo-Gemini from June 2013 to March 2014 in Rashiyanka Dasha. In Vimshottari it was Rahu-Moon Dasha in operation from July 2013 to January 2015.  The Amatayakaraka Mercury, Putrakaraka Sun and Ganatikaraka Saturn were giving aspect to both the Dasha Rashi’s Virgo and Gemini. I predicted a government job in some education department or job in teaching field in a University in the next 10 months during the operation of this Virgo-Gemini Rashiyanka Dasha. Sometime in early 2014 the young lady got the offer from her previous employer PWC to work as an independent consultant for their foreign auditing projects. Her company sent her to many countries on project work.It was the Virgo-Cancer period in Rashiyanka Dasha when she travelled many countries for her consultancy work. The 10^th pada is place in Gemini which is the 12^th house from the sub period sign Cancer. The Amatayakaraka Mercury giving aspect to the 12^th house from Cancer also explains her foreign stay for the purpose of job project.

The Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra is the most comprehensive and premier classical text of the Hindu Astrology. It is consider as the foundation work on the natal astrology. This text contains a discourse given by Sage Parashara to his disciple Maitraya. The exact date/time of the origination of this text is unknown .Many scholars propose that it might be a compilation of the then available knowledge on the subject (natal astrology) and it dates to the 7^th Century AD or 8^th Century AD. However, the text says that it is the work of Sage Parashara. According to a popular legend Parashara  was the father of Vedavyasa who was the author of the epic Mahabharata. There are different versions of this text available at present: by Shri Venkateshwar Press Mumbai (translator Pandit Tara Chand Shastri) , by Pandit Devachandra Jha , by Pandit Ganesh Dutt Pathak and by Pandit Sita Ram Jha. Apart from these four early versions of this text many new commentaries have also come in both Hindi and English in the last couple of decades.

The ‘Dasha Adhaya’ in all the versions of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastara contains almost same number of Dashas with similar method of their calculation. However, there is one Rashi Dasha named ‘Rashiyanka Dasha’ which is discussed in only two available versions of this classical text. The ‘Rashiyanka Dasha’ has been given in the translation of Pandit Tara Chand Shastri and Pandit Ganesh Dutt Pathak. My teacher Naval Singh introduced me with the method of  Rashiyanka Dasha way back in October 2011. He explained to me the scheme of its calculation by giving the reference from the Venkateshwar Press edition of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra then. The concern Sanskrit Sloka is given below here.

English Translation: First calculate the lagna and 12 houses as per the method explain earlier.  Then mark the Navamsha Rashi of the lagna lord in Rashi chart and start Dasha from there. The next Dasha will be of the second house from this sign and so on. The Rashiyanka Dasha is applied where the lagna or lagna lord is strong.

Rashiyanka Dasha is a conditional Rashi Dasha and it should be applied on a horoscope where lagna lord is either in its sign of exaltation or in own sign or in its friendly sign. This Dasha moves in direct order, as mention in the classical text, and number of years for each Rashi should be calculated as we do in the case of ‘Mandooka Dasha’.

 

Later I found the following reference of Rashiyanka Dasha given in the translation of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra by Pandit Ganesh Dutt Pathak.

English Translation: After calculating the lagna and 12 houses find out the stronger between the lagna and lagna lord. The Dasha will start from the Navamsha sign of the stronger between the two.

English Translation: The next Dasha will be of the Navamsha sign of the second house and so on.

As per  the version of Pandit Ganesh Dutt Pathak the Rashiyanka Dasha should  start from the Navamsha sign of the strongest between the lagna and lagna lord. However, the Venketashwara Press version clearly says that Dasha should  start  from the Navamsha sign of the lagna lord. Interestingly the Rashiyanka Dasha found no mention in any of the available version of Jaimini Sutras despite the fact that it is a Rashi Dasha! The ‘Upadesh Sutras’  by Maharishi Jaimini contains so many Rashi Dashas but it doesn’t have any hint on the Rashiyanka Dasha. This could be a major reason that none of the Jaimini scholars have paid any consideration to this Rashi Dasha till day.

How Rashiyanka Dasha Should be Calculated ?

I started my work  on the method  as given in the Venketeshwara Press version of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. After working on more than 60 horoscopes, in last four years, I have find out  that Rashiyanka Dasha  works in the charts where the lord of lagna is strong in both Rashi chart as well as in the Navamsha chart. Although the classic says that Rashiyanka Dasha can be applied on the chart where lagna lord is strong but it doesn’t mention the method by which the strength of the lagan lord should be ascertained. In my practice I have observed that if the lagna lord is  in its sign of exaltation or own house or friendly sign in the Rashi and Navamsha charts only then the Rashiyanka Dasha can be applied on a horoscope.

In the first example for Rashiyanka Dasha I am taking the chart of Tony Blair who was the Prime Minister of United Kingdom (UK) from 2 May 1997 to 27 June 2007. In the Rashi chart of Tony Blair the lagan lord Venus is in its sign of exaltation. In Navamsha Venus is in its friendly sign Capricorn. So it’s fit into our condition for the application of Rashiyanka Dasha. The Rashi Dasha will start from Capricorn the Navamsha sign of the lagna lord Venus. The Dasha will move in direct order.
