In Brihat Samhita of Varahamihira chapter number 14, Nakshatra Koorma Adhyay is based on the study of ancient Koorma Chakra which has also been mentioned in Vishnu Purana. This Koorma Chakra is a graphical mapping of ancient India (Bharata) into 9 zones having 3 asterism each starting from Kritika, Rohini, Mrigsira group. As per Brihat Samhita Ardra, Punarvasu and Pushya signify the East direction. In this zone the area of Bengal and Assam comes. As per this ancient text Pragjyotishpur (ancient kingdom of Kamrupa) is present day Assam. Also, Gaura, Vanga and Anga Desha (kingdoms) are the present-day Bengal region, among which the West Bengal state is part of India while the eastern area of Bengal is now Bangladesh.

In the book “Dr. B.V. Raman – Jottings from his Astrological Diary… And More’ in the chapter number 3 title ‘India’s freedom’ at page number 26 and 27, the Mrigasira 3 (third part) has been assigned to Calcutta as per the Avakahada system. Dr. Raman uses to take Gemini and also a part of Cancer as the ruling sign of Bengal region as per this book.

Interestingly, last time when a major political change came in West Bengal State was during May 2011 assembly polls when transit Saturn was in Virgo giving aspect to the 10^th house from Gemini the zodiac sign of this state. In that assembly elections Trinamool Congress Party led by Mamata Banerjee defeated CPI (M) to end the 27 year long Communist Parties rule in the state. During that time the transiting Saturn was in Virgo in the 4^th house from Gemini and Jupiter was in Pisces in the 10^th from Gemini along with Venus, Mercury and Mars. Rahu was in Sagittarius then. All the major planets were influencing the 10^th house (government) from Gemini the ruling sign of West Bengal as per Dr. B.V. Raman.

West Bengal State Elections

The political landscape of West Bengal has changed since the last assembly polls held in April-May 2021. At that time BJP under the leadership of Dilip Ghosh emerged as the major opposition party by winning 77 seats with impressive 38.15% of vote shares. Trinmool Congress had won 211 seats in 294 member legislative assembly with 48.02% of vote shares. The transiting Saturn was in Capricorn then along with Jupiter in the 8^th house from the zodiac sign of West Bengal which is Gemini.

At present Suvendu Adhikari is the leader of opposition from the BJP since May 2021. He was once a state minister in Trinmool Congress government during 2016 to 2020 but then he left the party and joined BJP. He was born on 15^th of December 1970 (time unknown) when the Moon was in Gemini sign. His Naamakshar ‘Su’ gives Shatabhisa Nakshatra ruled by Rahu in Aquarius sign. The transiting Saturn is in favourable position from both his natal Moon in Gemini and Namaakshar sign Aquarius.

Mamata Banerjee five years younger than her official records

In her memoir, My Unforgettable Memories, Banerjee wrote: “I was not even fifteen when I wrote my school final examination and would have been disqualified for being underage. So, my father gave a fictitious age and birthday to get around the problem”. Apparently ‘Didi’ was born on October 5, instead of January five, as the book says that her mother had once given her a horoscope with that date mentioned in it.

Thus, the real birth detail of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is not available with us.

In the Pisces lagna foundation horoscope of Trinmool Congress Party (chart 1) there is a beautiful exchange between the lagna lord Jupiter and the 11^th lord Saturn. The lagna lord Jupiter is debilitated in the 11^th house of gains and it is in degree conjunction with malefic Upa-Graha Gulika which as per the Parashari method comes at 29 degrees and 31 minutes in Capricorn. As per a Laghu Parashari rule a Dasha lord generally don’t give its full promising results during its own Dasha Anter Dasha . Trinmool Congress Party chart had given good results to them during Rahu Dasha and Jupiter Anter Dasha . But Jupiter in its own Swa-Anter Dasha may not give the promising results of the yoga it has involve in along with the 11^th lord Saturn and other planets The Parivartana (exchange of houses) between the lagna lord and the 11^th lord is a good Dhana Yoga.

But a noticeable point here is that the Jupiter as the lagna and 10^th lord is also in conjunction with the 5^th lord (minister most) the Moon, 9^th lord (luck) Mars and also the 3^rd lord (valour) Venus. The conjunction of lagna and 10^th lord with the 5^th and 9^th lord is a major Raja Yoga here. In Navamsha Jupiter is in the lagna and afflicted by the aspects of malefic Mars and Saturn both. In Dasha masa Jupiter is in the 6^th house though it is in mutual aspect with the 10^th lord there and it also aspect the 10^th house of political power.

Thus, during Jupiter Dasha Jupiter Anter Dasha and Saturn Pratyanter Dasha Trinmool Congress Party can retain power somehow but their vote share will decline from the last assembly elections. In transit Jupiter get 31 points in Sarvashtaka Varga in Gemini and 3 points in own Bhinnashtaka. Saturn get 29 points in Sarvashtaka Varga in Pisces and 4 points in its own Bhinnashtaka Varga in the foundation chart of Trinmool Congress which is good.

Favourable Jaimini Chara Dasha

As per the Jaimini Chara Dasha scheme Dasha of Cancer and Anter Dasha of Libra will be running from 1^st January 2026 to 2^nd of July 2026 in the foundation horoscope of Trinmool Congress party (chart 3). Dasha Rashi Cancer is 7^th house from the Atamakaraka Jupiter and the 11^th house from the Karakamsha lagna which is Virgo. Anter Dasha Rashi Libra is the 10^th house from Atamakaraka and the 2^nd from Karakamsha lagna which is also fine. The 10^th Pada is in Aquarius which is 8^th from the Dasha Rashi Cancer but 5^th from the Anter Dasha Rashi Libra.

Amatayakaraka Mercury is in fixed sign Scorpio and it aspect the movable Dasha Rashi Cancer and also the 10^th house from it which is Aries. In Jaimini system fixed sign aspect the movable sign except the adjacent sign, fixed sign aspect movable sign except the adjacent sign, and the dual sign aspect each other.

From the Anter Dasha sign Libra the Amatayakaraka Mercury is in the 2^nd house which is good.

Chart 2. Annual Horoscope of Trinmool Congress for completed year 28

The annual horoscope of Trinmool Congress (chart 2) is very enigmatic. Taurus lagna rise in the annual horoscope which is the 3^rd house of the Pisces lagna foundation horoscope (chart 1) of this party. Muntha (progressed lagna) is in Cancer which is the 3^rd house from the rising sign Taurus in the annual horoscope. The Muntha lord the Moon is strongly placed in the lagna and get the aspect of Yogkaraka Saturn. But the aspect of Mars from the 8^th house on the Muntha shows some violence activities.

In the annual horoscope of Trinmool Congress a major Raja Yoga of the 4^th lord the Sun and 5^th lord Mercury is formed in the 8^th house which get strength due to the 10^th aspect of Yogakaraka Saturn. As per the Parashari system for Taurus ascendant chart the yoga of the 4^th lord the Sun and 5^th lord Mercury is first grade Raja Yoga. The Raja Yoga in the annual horoscope can make Trinmool Congress win the assembly election but due to the strong influence of Mars on the Muntha (progressed lagna) and other planets some violence during election can’t be ruled out.

Enigmatic Yogini Dasha

In Yogini Dasha the Dasha of Sankata and Anter Dasha of Sankata ruled by Rahu will be running from April 2025 to January 2027 in the foundation horoscope of Trinmool Congress Party (chart 1). Sankata Dasha Sankata Anter Dasha and Bhadrika (rule by Mercury) Pratyanter Dasha would be running from March 2026 to June 2026 for Trinmool Congress Party. Rahu is in the 6^th house of the Trinmool Congress chart which get the 8^th aspect of 9^th lord (communal tensions) Mars. The transiting Rahu is in Aquarius which is the 9^th house from Gemini the zodiac sign of West Bengal. The transit of Rahu over the natal Ketu in the foundation chart of Trinmool Congress Party is indicating some major political violence. Since the Dasha lords Rahu and Mercury in Yogini Dasha are strong in mutual Kendra so Trinmool Congress can win assembly election, but political violence can’t be ruled out due to adverse transit of Rahu from the 9^th house of West Bengal’s zodiac sign Gemini.

Sensitive transit periods of Mars

During 23^rd of February to 2^nd of April 2026 the transit Mars will be in Aquarius in conjunction with malefic Rahu which is already transiting there only. These two natural malefic planets will be in the 9^th house from Gemini the zodiac sign for West Bengal and Bangladesh also. There will be some news of communal tensions in this region. Then Mars will join Saturn in Pisces from 2^nd of April to 11^th of May. This period can bring political violence in West Bengal state as both Mars and Saturn will be in the 10^th house (governance) from Gemini.

Planets and Bihar Assembly Elections 2025

After completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of the voter list in Bihar, the Election Commission has announced the election dates. Voting for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on the November 6th and 11th respectively, and the election results will be declared on November 14th . In the assembly elections held in October-November 2020, the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) won 125 seats in a closely fought contest, while the opposition Grand Alliance (Maha Gathabandandhan) had to settle for 110 seats. The BJP strengthened its position within the NDA, winning 74 seats, while the Janata Dal United (JDU), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, had to settle for only 43 seats then.

Former political strategist Prashant Kishor has entered the election fray with his new party, “Jan Suraj,” to challenge the big names in Bihar politics. From an astrological perspective, the available horoscopes of the Jan Suraj Party, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, and the Leader of the opposition Tejashwi Yadav make this Bihar assembly election very interesting.

Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj could spoil the game for the ruling NDA

Last year, on October 2nd , 2024, on the day of Gandhi Jayanti, Prashant Kishore announced the name of his new party at 4:05 pm in Patna. Former election strategist Prashant Kishore had earlier launched a statewide Padayatra (political mass out reach on food) on the October 2nd in year 2022, from the Gandhi Ashram in Champaran, the site of Mahatma Gandhi’s 1917 Satyagraha (non-violence movement) , and he had then received strong public support.

However, due to Jupiter’s aspect on this planetary conjunction from the fourth house, Prashant Kishor’s party will win some seats and may spoil the game for the ruling NDA and also some other parties.

The aspect of 2^nd and 11^th lord Jupiter on the Moon is a saving grace here. But since the Moon is afflicted by natural malefic planets Mars, Saturn and Ketu in the Navamsha of Jan Suraj Party so it has become weak. In mundane astrology the Moon is the karaka (significant) of public opinion. During the Vimshottari Maha Dasha of this weak Moon and the Anter Dasha of Rahu running from October 2024 to April 2026 the Jan Suraj Party will get very moderate success only. Some controversies and a violent attack on its leaders can’t be ruled out during this Dasha period mentioned. But since Anter Dasha lord Rahu is strong in Rashi, Navamsha and also in Dashamasa charts so with decent percentage of votes party can make its presence felt in some pockets of the state in Bihar assembly polls in November month.

Chirag Paswan will achieve satisfactory success

Chirag Paswan, son of former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and a film actor, currently holds the position of Union Minister in the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. In the last assembly elections, Chirag Paswan’s Lok Jan Shakti Party contested 135 seats, winning only one seat. Born in Madhubani, Bihar, at 12:15 pm on the January 31 the, 1982, Chirag Paswan’s horoscope has the Moon in Pisces sign and it is in Kemadruma Yoga. Kemadruma Yoga is formed when there is no planet other than the Sun alongside the Moon, one house ahead of, or behind it.

Due to this Kemadruma Yoga Chirag Paswan faced resistance from his uncle and former Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras regarding his political legacy during the Maha Dasha of the Moon (January 2019 to January 2029) . Currently, under the Anter Dasha of Mercury in the Maha Dasha of the Moon is running in the birth chart of Chirag Paswan, who is contesting elections on 29 seats while being in NDA. There are astrological indications that he will get satisfactory results this tine. Due to the Shadashtak relationship of 6/8 of the Moon and Mercury, he may also suffer unexpected losses on some seats due to internal sabotage. A noticeable point in his chart is a good Raja Yoga of the 5th and 10th lord Venus in conjunction with the 9th lord Mercury in the 10th house of political power.

Nitish Kumar may take a surprising decision after the election results

Nitish Kumar was born on March 1st , 1951, at 1:20 pm in Bakhtiyarpur. In his Gemini ascendant horoscope, Rahu in the Bhagya Bhava (house of fortune) is forming a powerful Rajyoga with the Karmaesh (lord of the 10th house), Jupiter, the lord of the ascendant (lagnesh) Mercury, and the third lord (ally) the Sun. Rahu’s involvement in the Rajyoga makes him a seasoned player in the coalition politics, who can often surprise his opponents with his political acumen. The debilitated Moon in Scorpio in the sixth house weakens his opponents in front of his political moves. But this Moon is afflicted by the aspect of Saturn which is giving him illness and his health status is under question. Also, notice that the Moon is in Kemadruma Yoga but since it has benefic Jupiter in the 4th house from it so there is cancellation of Kemadruma due to the presence of a Gaja Kesari Yoga.

Since 2013, Nitish Kumar has repeatedly switched sides, sometimes to Lalu Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and sometimes to the BJP, to fulfill his political ambitions. Just three months before the Lok Sabha elections in early 2024, he once again left Lalu Yadav and the Congress, and joined hands with the BJP to become the Chief Minister of the state. His party, the JDU, contested 16 Lok Sabha seats and won 12, defying all political predictions. The 74-year-old Nitish Kumar has been the Chief Minister of Bihar since year 2005 , and is currently a key ally of the BJP-led coalition government at the center.

Nitish Kumar’s party, is contesting 101 assembly seats is struggle due to strong anti-incumbency and serious questions about his leader’s health issues . In the birth chart of Nitish Kumar the Vimshottari Dasha of Rahu Anter Dasha of Venus and Pratyanter Dasha of Mercury is running from 24th of October 2025 to 3rd of March 2026.The Rahu is strongly placed in the 9th house of luck. Venus as the 5th lord and 12th lord shows change of position as 5th house being the 8th from the 10th house of career and 12th house shows retirement. Venus is also with the 6th lord Mars showing health concern’s. The sub-sub period lord Mercury as the lagna lord is afflicted with Rahu and the Sun also joing ‘Maraka’ Jupiter. But since Mercury is also the 4th lord and is in Rashi Parivartana with 9th lord Saturn so it can give some good results also.

The founding horoscope of his ally, the BJP (April 6, 1980, 11:00 am) 45 minutes, Delhi) is also of Gemini ascendant where Moon is in Scorpio. In BJP’s horoscope, the difficult condition of Ketu in Moon indicates that the party’s performance in Bihar will be weaker than in the previous elections.

Tejashwi Yadav Can be the new CM of Bihar

The birth chart of Tejashwi Yadav (November 9the , 1988, 1:30 am, Patna, Bihar), the younger son of Lalu Yadav, former Chief Minister of Bihar and Union Railway Minister, differs from his official birth details. In Tejashwi Yadav’s horoscope, which has a Leo ascendant, the fifth lord Jupiter is placed in the tenth house and is aspecting the tenth lord Venus, which is in a debilitated sign in the second house of family. The Vimshottari Maha Dasha of Saturn Anter Dasha of Mars and Pratyanter Dasha of Mercury will be running from 28th of October 2025 to 24th of December 2025 (Saturn-Mars-Mercury period) . Mercury as the 2nd and 11th lord is in good Dhana Yoga with the lagna lord the Sun. In Navamsha Mercury as the 9th lord is making a Raja Yoga as it is in mutual aspect with lagna lord Venus. Thus, Tejasvi Yadav can become chief minister of Bihar this time during his favorable Anter Dasha of Mars and Pratyanter Dasha of Mercury in Vimshottari.

In the founding horoscope of his ally Congress Party (January 2, 1978, 12 noon in Delhi), Saturn, the lord of the 11th house in the Pisces ascendant, is in an auspicious position in the sixth house. With the satisfactory performance of his allies, Tejashwi Yadav may become the Chief Minister after a close contest in this year’s Bihar Assembly elections.

Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024- An astrological analysis

When the voting for the 81 seats of Jharkhand Assembly will be held in two phases on the 13th November and on the 20th of November, then along with the chair of the incumbent Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the prestige of India Alliance will also be at stake. After winning the last assembly elections in the year 2019, Hemant Soren’s party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha formed the government in alliance with Congress Party and Rashtriya Janata Dal. But in the year 2023, Hemant Soren, who was caught in the alleged mining and land scam, started getting into troubles due to raids by officials of the central investigation agency ED from Delhi to Ranchi and later, before being arrested on 31st of January 2024, Hemant Soren resigned and made his own party’s senior leader Champai Soren the Chief Minister of the state. As soon as he came out of the jail in the first week of July this year, Hemant Soren made Champai Soren to resign from his post, and he once again took over the post of Chief Minister on July 4 at 4:52 pm, when the Scorpio Lagna (ascendant) was rising and the Moon was placed in the eighth house of adversity. Due to taking oath taking event took place on the inauspicious Chaturdashi Tithi , Hemant Soren’s opponents continued to attack him and brought the former chief minister Champai Soren of his party to their side.

Hemant Soren had made the mistake by taking oath in the 13^th days fortnight in the Lunar month of Ashada. Due to the loss of two Tithi’s (kshaya Tithi) i.e. Pratipada and Chathurdashi the darker half of Ashada month (Ashada Krishna Paksha) had only 13 days this year. The worrisome fact for Hemant Soren is that he took oath on the day of Krishna Chathurdashi (14^th lunar day) which was a Kshaya Tithi and the inauspicious Vishti Karana was also present then.

In the oath taking chart of Hemant Soren (chart 1) the Moon is in Gemini Rashi and Mrigshira Nakshatra which is favorable from his natal Moon in Virgo (see chart 2) but unfavorable as per his Janma Nakshatra Uttara Phalguni. Moreover, in the Scorpio lagna oath taking chart of Hemant Soren the 10^th lord the Sun falls in the 8^th house and it is in conjunction with the 12^th lord (losses) Venus. As per the Vimshottari Dasha balance the Mars Dasha and Mercury Anter Dasha is running in the oath taking chart which is very alarming as Mars is in the 6^th house and aspect the 8^th lord Mercury. The aspect of retrograde Saturn on the 10^th house in both Rashi and Navamsa is also not good. This may involve Hemant Soren in some new controversies which will reduce his popularity.

Chart 2. Hemant Soren : Born August 10, 1975 at 16h. 00m. at Ramgarh , Jharkhand , at 85 E 31 and 23 N 38 with a balance of 2 years 2 months 24 days of Sun Dasha at birth.

Hemant Soren is the son of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder Sheebu Soren who served as chief minister of the state for two times for short durations only. Hemant Soren’s father was indicted in the past for criminal charges. In the Scorpio lagna horoscope of Hemant Soren (chart 2) the 9^th lord (father) is the Sun which is in Sarpa Drekkan and is in conjunction with malefic Saturn in the 8^th house. In Jupiter Dasha and Ketu Anter Dasha Hemant Soren had become the chief minister for the second time in December 2019. Jupiter is in the 5^th house of minister’s post and the Anter Dasha lord Ketu is in conjunction with the 5^th lord Mars gave him the position of chief minister. In the 81 member’s Jharkhand legislative assembly his party JMM won 30 seats , while their allies Congress get 16 and they together crossed the majority mark of 41 comfortably then.

Bandan Yoga in Hemant Soren’s horoscope

In the Jupiter Dasha and the Sun Anter Dasha (from 18^th of May 2023 to 5 March 2024) Hemant Soren went for imprisonment on the 31^st of January this year. The Sun is in Bandhan Yoga in birth chart and it is in the Navamsa of Saturn which is also not auspicious. Now when he has got the bail in the Jupiter Dasha Moon Anter Dasha and Rahu Antra recently it would be interesting to see if he can get reelected in the up-coming assembly elections or not?

The Dasha and Anter Dasha lords Jupiter and the Moon are making a 6/8 connection from each other in Rashi chart which is not good. The Anter Dasha lord the Moon is taking the lordship of the 8^th house and it is in the Navamsa of Saturn along with some malefic planets. At the time of assembly elections in Jharkhand the Jupiter Dasha Moon Anter Dasha and Saturn Antra would be running from 28^th of September 2024 to 14 December 2024 in Hemant Soren’s chart which is not good. The Antra lord Saturn is in the 8^th house and is involve in ‘Bandhan Yoga’ which will not let Hemant Soren get re-elected for the post of chief minister.

Unfavorable Jaimini Chara Dasha

As per the Jaimini system the Chara Dasha the period of of Aquarius is starting from 9^th of August 2024. Aquarius is the 8^th house from the Atamakaraka the Sun and it is the sign of Karakamasha lagna as Atamakaraka is in the Navamsa of this sign only. From Dasha Rashi Aquarius the Amatayakaraka Venus aspects (Jaimini aspects) the 12^th house Capricorn which shows losses. The 10^th Pada is in Cancer which is in the 6^th from the Dasha Rashi Aquarius. So, from Jaimini perspective also Hemant Soren is not likely to win this election for his party.

Chart 3. Jharkhand State : Born November 15, 2000 at 00h. 00m. at Ranchi , Jharkhand , at 85 E 20 and 23 N 21 with a balance of 16 years 11 months 17 days of Rahu Dasha at birth.

In the Leo lagna horoscope of Jharkhand state (chart 3) the Vimshottari Dasha of Jupiter and Anter Dasha of Ketu would be running from 8^th of October 2024 to 14 September 2025.
