Major Civil Unrest In Bangladesh and Troubles Foreseen for India

In my blog post on the 16th of December 2023 (last year) i had discussed the foundation horoscope of Bangladesh and the birth chart of her Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I had given a forecast then that Sheikh Hasina will get re-elected as the Prime Minister again but the elections will not be free and fair. I had also given the prediction of a major civil unrest in Bangladesh on the basis of an inauspicious Vimshottari Dasha of Moon-Moon running in her foundation chart. While discussing the chart of Sheikh Hasina it was clearly mentioned that she will face allegations of rigging in the elections and autocracy, thus she will not be able to enjoy power despite winning the election for the forth consecutive time. These predictions were also published at the web site of Hindi News Paper Navbhart Times Dot Com. Now during this week Sheikh Hasina had to resign from her post and she had fled to India after major civil unrest in the country. It is similar to what has happened to Sri Lanka’s former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in year 2022.

Horoscope of Sheikh Hasina and Bangladesh Elections in 2024

Sheikh Hasina was born on 28 September 1946 at 11 am in Dhaka, and her birth chart is of Scorpio ascendant, where the Raj Yoga formed by the 9th lord (father) Moon in the 12th house of losses along with 5th lord Jupiter, lagna and 6th lord (violence) Mars and 7th lord (killer planet) Venus is an astrological combination for getting the political power in adverse circumstances. Sheikh Hasina is the daughter of Bangladesh’s founder and first President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed along with his wife and sons after a military coup on 15 August 1975, three years after Bangladesh’s independence. At that time Sheikh Hasina was in Germany with her sister Sheikh Rehana. Sheikh Hasina later took refuge in India and returned to Bangladesh in the 1980s to take over the leadership of her father’s party, the Awami League. Bangladesh also witnessed several military coups, in one of which the former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s husband and the then President, Zia-ur-Rahman, was assassinated on 30 May 1981. It is said that it was Khaleda Zia’s husband, Zia-ur-Rahman, who had get Sheikh Hasina’s father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman assassinated in the 1975 military coup, due to which Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina were bound to become bitter political enemies.

Chart 1. Horoscope of Sheikh Hasina

At present in the birth chart of Sheikh Hasina a very sensitive Vimshottari Dasha of Jupiter-Venus is going on from September 2023 to May 2026. Venus is the lord of the seventh (Maraka) and twelfth (foreign) houses in her horoscope and is conjoined with Jupiter, the Moon and ascendant lord Mars in the twelfth house. Due to this Yoga, she was able to leave the Prime Minister’s residence in time with the help of India , and save her life and that of her sister Sheikh Rehana from the rioters. It is said that Bangladesh military had informed Sheikh Hasina that they will not stop protestors from entering the city. The army gave Sheikh Hasina only 45 minutes to resign and leave the country on Monday 5th of August.

Sheikh Hasina had no option but to resign and flee the country along with her younger sister. Later the house of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was ransacked by protestors and more violence erupted in capital Dhaka in which many Awami League leaders where killed and their property were looted.

In the Scorpio lagna birth chart of Sheikh Hasina Vimshottari Dasha of Venus-Jupiter-Mercury is running from 15th of June to 31st of October 2024. The noticeable point here is that both Venus and Jupiter are at ‘Maraka houses’ in her Navamsha chart and they are in 6/8 position from each other mutually which is not good. Mercury the sub-sub period lord is taking the lordship of 8th house (sudden downfall) and is in conjunction with 10th lord the Sun and also with Gulika. Mercury is in the 11th house in Rashi which is 8th from the 4th house of throne of the ruler. In Navamsha Mercury is in the 10th house along with malefic Rahu and get the aspect of two more malefic planets Mars and Saturn. Her life was saved from violent protestors as Jupiter aspect the 8th house and the lord of 8th house is in own sign at the 11th house which confirm a long life.

Now in Jupiter Dasha and Saturn Anter Dasha from May 2026 to July 2029 she will make an attempt to come back to her native country. At present Sheikh Hasina is in a safe house at Hindon Air base near New Delhi in India. She is expected to travel to Western Europe for political asylum as many of her relatives are in that part of the world only since the violent overthrown of power in 1975 military coup in Bangladesh. Saturn as the lord of the 4th house is strong in the 9th house in the horoscope of Sheikh Hasina. In Navamsha Saturn is exalted in the lagna. During 2027 or 2028 when the transiting Saturn would be in Aries then she will make an effort to come back to Bangladesh again.

Chart 2. Foundation Horoscope of Bangladesh

Born after the humiliating defeat of Pakistan in the Indo-Pak war of 1971 and the surrender of its army, the foundation horoscope of Bangladesh is set at Dhaka on 16 December 1971 at 17:00 hours. Although Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the independence of Bangladesh on 26 March 1971, but at that time the Pakistani army had complete control, which was brutally torturing the Bengali population in East Pakistan. The Indian military After the intervention, when the reins of power came to the exiled government of Bangladesh at 17:00 hours on 16 December 1971, Aquarius ascendant was rising in which Saturn is placed in the lagna and giving its 10th aspect to the Mars sitting at the 10th house of power. Due to the influence of Mars, military revolts have taken place many times in Bangladesh and from time to time atrocities have been committed on the Hindu minority population, due to which the situation worsens in the Indian states bordering it, Assam and West Bengal. Noticeable point in the foundation horoscope of Bangladesh is the influence of strong Mars on the ascendant and the 10th house both in Rashi and Navamsha which confirm the clout of military in the affairs of the government.

The inauspicious dasha of Moon-Moon in the foundation horoscope of Bangladesh is creating the situation of communal violence in the country from May 2024 to March 2025. The period of Moon-Mars again from 17th of March 2025 to 16th of October 2025 shows tensions in the Bangladesh and violence involving military leadership. The leaders of Khaleda Zia’s Bangladesh Nationalist Party may come to power and take some steps in the coming days that will make India very uncomfortable.

Tree Plantation: The Best Astrological Remedy in Modern Times

In Hindu culture, the tradition of worshiping the mother nature in its various forms , and giving respect to its existence has been there since ancient times. In religious texts, Puranas and astrological books , along with many gods and goddesses, there are also provisions for worshiping the Sun, the Moon , rivers, mountains, seas, water bodies, trees etc. In the Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra, the most ancient and respected classical text on astrology, many remedies have been given to remove the obstacles in procreation due to inauspicious deeds of the previous births. These remedies include the construction of wells, ponds etc. and planting and worshiping trees like Peepal and Banyan.The remedies has been discussed briefly in chapter number 84 of Purva Janma Shrapa Adhyay of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. As per my humble understanding of this subject the tree plantation as per the Moon sign or Nakshatra or as per the consideration of the weak or an evil planet in the chart is the best remedy in modern times. It is cost effective and helpful in the environmental cause and also boost the agriculture economy.

The names of trees and plants of 27 constellations have been given in the texts of Vastu Shastra. The tradition of planting trees according to one’s birth constellation or birth zodiac is prevalent in many parts of the West Bengal and South Indian states. In hilly region of Uttarakhand, Harela festival dedicated to the worship of nature is celebrated in the lunar month of Ashadha, just 9 days before the month of Shravan, in which conscious people also plant trees. Inspired by this Harela festival, every year in the first week of July, the Government of India organizes the Van Mahotsav.

The Van Mahotsav is being celebrated since 1950 in India. In the 1950s, the then Agriculture Minister K.M. Munshi had started Van Mahotsav to encourage tree plantation. Now let’s see what astrological texts tell us about the trees that comes under various planets. We can plant the trees as per the weak or the evil planet in a particular horoscope as a mean to perform its astrological remedy.

Types of Trees Signified by Planets

In chapter 3, Graha Swarupa Adhyay, verses 40 and 41 of Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra, it has been mentioned about the trees coming under the influence of planets like the Sun, the Moon, Mars etc.

Sun – hard wood trees – thick wood trees like Sheesham, Shaal etc.

Moon – milk yielding trees, juice yielding trees like Deodar, Jackfruit etc.

Mars – thorny trees – Babool, Khair, bitter trees like Neem

Mercury – trees without fruits.

Jupiter – All the fruit bearing trees.

Venus – All the flowering trees.

Saturn – Dull trees without fruits and flowers.

The bad effects of a planet which is weak or in an unfavorable state in the birth chart can be reduced by planting a tree that comes under it.

Trees Signified by various Nakshatra’s

In Hindu astrology, the zodiac cycle is divided into 27 constellations. In some texts of Vastu Shastra, the name of each tree or plant that comes under these 27 constellations has been given. If we plant a tree or plant according to our birth constellation and take care of it as much as possible, then its auspicious effect is seen throughout life. The following trees and plants come under the 27 constellations from Ashwini to Revati.

1.Ashwani – Ashwath, 2. Bharani – Makartaru, 3. Krittika – Gular, 4. Rohini – Jamun, 5. Mrigshira – Khadir (Khair), 6. Ardra – Krishna tree, 7. Punarvasu – Punarnava, 8. Pushya – Peepal, 9. Ashlesha – Nagvriksha.

Remedies of planting trees according to Puranas

Along with the texts of astrology and Vastu, there is a provision of planting many types of trees and plants in the Puranas for reducing bad effects of evil planets, for the happiness of ancestors and the gods/goddesses. In Vishnudharmottar Purana, Manu Smriti, Bhavishya Purana, Padma Purana, Varah Purana, Matsya Purana and Shiva Purana etc., planting of trees and plants is mentioned. It has been said that this is helpful to increase longevity, strength, fame, happiness of children, virtue in the afterlife etc. It has been mentioned in many Puranas that planting trees like Peepal, Banyan, Neem, Amla, Ashok, Tulsi, Bel, Palash etc. in the month of Ashadha pleases Lord Vishnu, Lakshmi Ji and other gods and goddesses. According to astrology, there is a significance of planting Madar tree for the Sun, Palash for the Moon, Khair for Mars, Apamarg for Mercury, Peepal for Jupiter, Gular for Venus and Shami tree for Saturn.

Forecasting 2024 Indian General Elections in Tamil Nadu

The state of Tamil Nadu has 39 seats which are very important for both NDA and the INDIA alliance. However, the major national parties BJP and Congress has very negligible presence in this state. In last General Elections (Lok Sabha Polls) in Tamil Nadu the DMK led by M.K. Stalin along with its alliances Congress, left and smaller Dravidian Parties won 38 out of 39 seats after getting 53.15% of votes. AIADMK was fighting that election in 2019 under the joint leadership of E.K. Palaniswami and O.Pannerselvam. In 2019 the AIADMK was part of NDA and has fought election only on 20 Lok Sabha seats leaving the rest for BJP and other smaller parties in their group. This time during 2024 General Elections in Tamil Nadu the political landscape is very different as DMK led by M.K. Stalin is going with their winning combination while the AIADMK is now fighting this election under the leadership of her former chief minister E.K. Palaniswami. The BJP is fighting on 19 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and rest they have left for the smaller parties in their NDA alliance. The voting was done on the 19th of April in Tamil Nadu and the results for the 39 seats will come on the 4th of June next month.

Chart 1. Horoscope of K. Annamalai

K. Annamalai become the youngest Tamil Nadu BJP President at the age of 37 in July 2021. Since then he has been working very hard to setup carder of the saffron party in this Southern state. In the second half of 2023 K. Annamalai took a 1700 KM on the foot and bus travel public campaign (Yatra) across the state. He become very popular due to his hybrid public outreach campaign which was first of its kind by any Tamil Nadu BJP leader. So, it is during Venus Dasha and Mercury Anter Dasha from June 2021 to June 2024 that K. Annamalai is coming into prominence in his political career. Both Venus and Mercury are the Karaka planets for his Virgo lagna chart.

Earlier he was an IPS police officer of 2011 batch in Karnataka cadre. He left his job to join the BJP for his political ambition. Saturn as the lord of Kendra or trine houses if aspect the Kendra house can give strong interest in a political career. Also the strength of the Moon is also an important factor to make a good career in to politics. In case of Virgo lagna horoscope of K. Annamalai Saturn fulfills the condition of a political career but it is also associated with the 3rd (speech) and 8th (humiliation and scandal) lord Mars. Some of his fiery speech are likely to put him under major trouble in next one year during his enigmatic Mercury Dasha and Ketu Anter Dasha. Mercury-Ketu or Ketu-Mercury periods in Vimshottari has to be watched very carefully.

During current Venus-Mercury-Saturn from 20th of December 2023 to 1st of June 2024 he is not likely to win his election. His Venus is combust by the 12th lord (losses) the Sun. The Anter Dasha lord Mercury is in Rashi Gandanta in birth chart and falls in the 12th house of losses in his Navamsha chart. The transiting Saturn is in the 8th from his natal Moon shows a set back. Although there will be some increase in vote percentage of the BJP but they will gain no seats from this Southern State.

Chart 2. Horoscope of DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam)

In the Sagittarius lagna horoscope of DMK (Chart 2) it was Venus-Jupiter-Rahu in Vimshottari during the time of general elections in 2019 when they had won 24 seats with impressive vote share. This time DMK would be under Venus-Mercury-Ketu in Vimshottari at the time of elections. Venus as the 6^th and 11^th houses lord is strongly placed in the 11^th house of gains.

Mercury is at the 10^th house in own sign in degree conjunction with Ketu gives some doubts and indications for a little setback also. But the Anter Dasha lord Mercury and Pratyanter Dasha lord Ketu both are strongly placed in the lagna of Navamsha chart of DMK so party will again win good number of seats. Though on few seats they may have to suffer a surprise defeat but overall their telly will be very impressive in Lok Sabha polls. I have also taken into considerations the birth chart of M.K. Stalin (1 March 1953, 23:50 hours at Chennai, Tamil Nadu) where a difficult Saturn-Rahu Dasha in Vimshottari in his Scorpio lagna chart shows loss of some seats to his opponent in a surprise manner.

Chart 3. Horoscope of AIADMK

Since July 2022 the AIADMK has been led by the former chief minister E.K. Palaniswami. After the expulsion of senior leader O.Pannerselvam the AIADMK is trying to distance itself from the NDA led by the BJP. The AIADMK is going to fight the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu at their own to challenge their traditional rival DMK. The Vimshottari Dasha of Saturn and Anter Dasha of the Moon from November 2023 to June 2025 shows some improvement in the performance of AIADMK. At the time of Lok Sabha Polls the AIADMK would be under Saturn-Moon-Rahu Dasha in Vimshottari in their Taurus lagna horoscope (Chart 3). Saturn is strongly placed in the lagna as Yogakaraka but has gone into the 8^th house in Navamsha.

The Moon as the 3^rd lord is in the 9^th house of luck in Rashi chart. The sub-sub period lord Rahu is in the 8^th house along with the 8^th and 11^th lord Jupiter and get the aspect of ‘Maraka’ Mars which is not auspicious. The AIADMK will not get much success though their vote share and number of seats are likely to be a little better as compare to 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the birth chart of E.K. Palaniswami (20 March 1954, 12:10 hours at Salem, Tamil Nadu) the Vimshottari Dasha of Mercury placed in the 9th house of her Gemini lagna chart and Anter Dasha of Ketu placed in the lagna shows that there will be some gains of seats and vote percentage of his party from the last elections in 2019.

Jupiter Dasha in the foundation horoscope of the Election Commission of India

As per the news reports the opposition parties have put questions on Election Commission’s unusual delay in making public final voting figures for phase 1 and 2 for ongoing general elections 2024. For the first time, even 11 days after the first phase of the polls and four days after the second phase, the final voter turnout has not been published by the Election Commission which is baffling as per the opposition parties spokespersons.The foundation horoscope of Election Commission of India (ECI) available with us has Libra ascendant rising , where the Vimshottari Dasha of functional malefic planet Jupiter is showing some serious concerns for the coming disputes and controversies. Jupiter as the lord of the 3rd and 6th house is debilitated at the 4th house can give some court cases also in the matter of electoral misconducts and fraud in coming days. In my article in the March 2024 issue of Modern Astrology magazine i had forecast about it on the basis of Jupiter’s transit into the Taurus sign which is very sensitive for the credibility of the ruling government at the center.

Opposition Parties questions ECI’s delay in making public final voting figures

Interestingly at the time when there was no electronic voting machine and digitization then elections use to take place within the period of 10 to 15 days only. In 1989 general elections the voting took place on the 22nd and 26th of November and the result came by the end of November month only. The incumbent Congress Party led by Rajiv Gandhi had lost the election and V.P. Singh sown in as the new Prime Minister on the 2nd of December 1989. Now compare it with the era of ‘Digital India’ when voting will be held from 19th of April to the 1st of June in 7 phases and results will come on the 4th of June only. So, the whole process will take about 46 days. In no other country election process take so much of time as it is in India. One may argue that now the population of India is 1.35 billion but then we have very huge bureaucracy supported by the best technology in the world but still the election process is so slow as compare to the days of paper ballot and manual counting.

Many apprehensions will be raised on the election process and outcome of the results of the general elections which will ultimately bring a major set back to the image of the Election Commission of India in the months to come.

Chart 1. Foundation Horoscope of the Election Commission of India

The Election Commission of India is a constitutional body which was formed by the Constitution of India to conduct free and fair elections in the country. As per the formation date of the Election Commission of India on 25th of January 1950 its foundation horoscope is set for Libra lagan rising. The ascendant Libra is Vargottama which is the greatest strength of this chart. Venus the lord of the lagan is getting “Dig Bala” as it is strongly placed in the 4th house. In Shada Bala Venus gets 8.71 Rupas of Bala which is excellent. Thanks to the strength of the lagna and its lord Venus there was an era when the Elections Commission of India used to be the envy of the world. It was during 1990s when late T.N. Seshan was the Chief Election Commissioner of India then major reforms were introduced under his esteemed leadership. It was Mr. T.N. Seshan who introduced voter ID cards, deputed observers for elections and identified more than hundred electoral malpractices and reformed the election process thoroughly.

It was during the Maha Dasha of the Moon from July 1988 to July 1998 when the Election Commission of India underwent major crucial reforms. During December 1990 to December 1996 Mr. T.N. Seshan was the Chief Election Commissioner of India when he used send shiver down the spine of the corrupted political leaders and officers who had violated the principals of ethical voting. Seshan’s era is known for the free, fair and transparent elections. He become a national hero and also won international accolades like Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1996.

During Maha Dasha of Rahu (July 2025 to July 2023) in the foundation horoscope of the Election Commission of India the reputation of this constitution body is falling gradually. There is no one like T.N. Seshan, M.S. Gill, J.M. Lyngdoh, S.Y. Quraishi etc. who can earn respect of masses and inject fear in the minds of corrupt political class with their professionalism , neutrality and ethical work culture. Rahu is in the 6th house of birth chart along with the 10th lord the Moon is getting the aspect of ‘Maraka’ Mars has to give some inauspicious results and loss of credibility during its Maha Dasha (July 2005 to July 2023) in the foundation horoscope of this constitutional body.

Jupiter Maha Dasha in the horoscope of Election Commission of India

Now it is the Maha Dasha of Jupiter from 18th of July 2023 to 18 July 2039 in the foundation horoscope of ECI. Jupiter as the lord of 3rd (communication) and 6th (disputes and court cases) is placed in the 4th house in its sign of debilitation. This position of Jupiter is not very favorable though the conjunction of lagna lord Venus and the 11th lord the Sun also give some hope for the revival in coming years. But at present the transiting Jupiter will remain in Taurus sign till 15th of May 2025. Taurus is the 8th house from Janma lagna and the transit of Maha Dasha lord from the 8th house is not auspicious. The transiting Saturn from Aquarius gets only 22 points in Sarvashtaka Varga and 2 points in Bhinnashtaka Varga of Saturn which are not sufficient. So, in next one year he credibility of the Election Commission of India will further get degraded. Many of the officers of ECI will have to face the trouble from the Supreme Court and High Courts in coming months particularly from 20th of June 2024 to 8th of August 2024 in Jupiter-Jupiter-Ketu Dasha in Vimshottari. Ketu the sub-sub period lord is in the 12th house of losses in Rashi chart and and in Navamsha its falls in the 8th house of humiliation.

During 20th of June 2024 to 8th of August 2024 the Election Commission of India may have to face some trouble due to an electoral malpractices case in the apex court.

Chart 2. Horoscope of Chief Election Commissioner of India Shri Rajiv Kumar

In the Taurus lagna horoscope (chart 2) of the current Chief Election Commissioner of India the lord of the 10th house Saturn falls in the 8th house along with the 8th and 11th lord Jupiter. The 10th house has the Sun over which the transiting Saturn is hovering at present. The Gulika is in Pisces along with Ketu at the 11th house. The Moon is in Kemadruma Yoga in the 6th house of disputes. The current Vimshottari Dasha of Venus-Saturn is showing a tough time in his career as both the Dasha lords are in 2/12 from each other. The transiting Jupiter is in the 8th house from his natal Moon is also not very favorable. The General elections 2024 are likely to be one of the most controversial and nontransparent in recent years.
