The General elections in Brazil are schedule to start from 4th of October 2026 when first round voting shall take place to elect President, Vice President, Governors, members of the national congress and all legislative assemblies. In Brazil general elections are held after every four years. Historically the date of the oath taking of the President of Brazil is fixed as 1st of January but due to a constitutional amendment passed to make easy the travel and logistic of international dignitaries now the fixed date for President to take oath is 5th of January starting from the next inauguration in 2027. As per the oath taking of current President Lula da Silva (1 January 2023, 15:00 hours at Brasilia, Distrito Federal, Brazil) and his birth chart he is likely to get re-elected for another term.
However, Lula da Silva has to fight a tough contest which is expected to go into the second round of voting on the 25th of October 2026. The left wing senior leader Lula da Silva is 81 years old who is facing a contest from the young Flavio Bolsonaro who at present is senator of Rio de Janeiro the capital and largest city of the country. Flavio Bolsonaro is the son of the former President Jair Bolsonaro who served as the 38th President of the country from 2019 to 2023. Jair Bolsonaro is know as a far right polarizing politician who advocated close relations with Israel and USA. In October 2022 general elections Jair Bolsonaro lost contest to Lula da Silva and on 8th of January 2023 a mod of Bolsonaro supporters stormed at the federal government buildings to overthrow the new government. But that coup was failed and Jair Bolsonaro was indicated on the charges of a planned coup to overthrow the government. He was house arrested in August 2025 and later found guilty in the trail by the Supreme Court. In the Scorpio lagna horoscope of Flavio Bolsonaro the majority of planets are concentrated in the 6th house which is 10th from the 9th house of father. The position of the 10th lord the Sun, lagna lord Mars along with Mercury and Venus has made the 6th house the most powerful in his horoscope. His father Jair Bolsonaro was an army officer before entering into politics in 1990’s. Flavio Bolsonaro was an advocate before joining politics. In the Scorpio lagna birth chart of Flavio Bolsonaro (chart 1) all the planets, except nodes, are in 3 Rashi’s which forms classical Nabas Yoga names ‘Shoola’. Although for Scorpio ascendant the mutual opposition of the 9th lord the Moon and 5th lord Jupiter is a good Yoga. In Navamsha Pisces ascendant is rising with strong Jupiter place in it giving aspect to the 9th lord Mars and 5th lord the Moon placed in the 5th house of minister post. For Lula da Silva i am using the birth details as given in his birth certificate. Lula da Silva is the leader of the left wing’s Workers Party and is current President of the country. The 81 year old stalwart had earlier got elected in 2002 and 2006 general elections in Brazil. He was then succeeded by his chief of staff Dilma Rousseff as in Brazil a President can’t contest for three consecutive terms. Dilma Rousseff won 2010 and 2014 Brazil general elections.
In the last Presidential elections in 2022 Lula da Silva had narrowly defeated Jair Bolsonaro. This time also a close contest is expected for Lua da Silva who is now fighting for his re-election. In the Taurus lagna horoscope of Lula da Silva (chart 2) the 5th house of minister post is the strongest in the birth chart. The 4th lord the Sun is in the 5th house along with 5th lord Mercury which is the best possible Raja Yoga for a native born in Taurus (Vrishabha) lagna as per the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra Yogakaraka Adhyay.

Trikona Dasha in the horoscope of Lula da Silva
In the Taurus lagna birth chart of President Lula da Silva 4 planets are placed in the 5th house. As per Jaimini system when 4 or more planets are in the 5th or 9th houses then Trikona Dasha is applicable in that horoscope.
The dasha will start from the strongest of the 5th or 9th house. The house having more number of planets between these two will be the starting point of the Dasha. But in case there are equal number of planets than we will have to check the strength of Rashis to decide the starting point of Dasha between the 5th and 9th house.
