The state politics of Tamil Nadu revolves around two Dravidian parties and their leaders- M.Karunanidhi and J.Jayalalitha. There is a trend in Tamil Nadu politics since 1989 that these two leaders rule the state alternatively but non of them has ever manage to replicate their electoral feat. However, this time the assembly elections in 2016 may well create a new history. The incumbent chief minister of AIADMK party Jayalalita is looking very confident of returning back to power. Her arch rival DMK party’s M.Karunanidhi is now a 91 year old veteran who is struggling with ill-health and family disputes over his political legacy since last few years. The Congress party has made a pre-polls alliance with DMK which is giving Karunanidhi some hope. The DMDK of Tamil cinema actor Vjayakant, which contested the last assembly polls in alliance with AIADMK, is now looking weak as they are fighting these election alone. After studying the horoscopes of major stack holders in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections of 2016 i came to a conclusion that Jayalalitha is likely to register a phenomenal victory this time. The votes for the assembly elections will be cast on the 16th of May and the results are going to be announced on the 19th of May. Now let’s see the chart of DMK party’s M.Karunanidhi first.
Horoscope of M.Karunanidhi
3 June 1924, at 09:40 hours at Tiruvarur (Tamil Nadu) longitude: 79 E 39′ and latitude: 10 N 46′
Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari : Mars 5 Years 9 Months 8 Days
Karunanidhi took the command of DMK party in 1969 when its founder C.N. Annadurai was died. Since then he is leading this Dravidian party and has mange to become chief minister of Tamil Nadu 5 times. Apart from his successful political career he has also been a famous play and script writer in Tamil language. In the Karka (Cancer) lagan chart of Karunanidhi the 3rd lord Mercury place in the 10th house shows his career in writing. The aspects of exalted Mars and Saturn on the 10th house shows political career and fame.
He was born on the day of Amavasya but here the Moon is strong as it is in its Mool-Trikona rashi Vrishabha (Taurus). The Moon is in Shubha Kartari Yoga as it is flanked by two benefic planets Mercury and Venus respectively. The mutual aspect of Moon and Jupiter is a very good Gaja-Kesari yoga. The mutual aspect between Sun and Jupiter is a strong Raj-Lakshan yoga which gives a native royal emblem or good political status. Karunanidhi had also its clout on the politics of center during the regime of Congress led UPA government from 2004 to 2014. In the Navamsha chart of Karunanidhi the mutual aspect between Saturn, Mercury and Venus is a good Rajyoga.
Now the Karunanidhi is running under an enigmatic Venus-Rahu dasha in Vimshottari from May 2014 to May 2017. The assembly elections will be held in Venus-Rahu-Venus period from 13 April to 12 October 2016. Venus being the 11th lord is good. The anter dasha lord Rahu is under the aspect of Yogakaraka Mars.
But the Jaimini Chara dasha of Aquarius-Aquarius (1 February 2016 to 2 June 2016) is not good as the Atamakaraka Mars falls in the 12th house from Aquarius and the Amatayakaraka Moon is giving aspect to the 12th house from Aquarius rashi. In Navamsha the Atamakaraka Mars falls in the 8th from Aquarius. So Karunanidhi’s party will improve its performance from the last elections but they may not come back to power is what his chart suggest.
The DMK had won 23 seats in last assembly elections in 2011. This time its tally is going to improve considerably. This we can confirm from the horoscope of M.K. Stalin who is the younger brother of Karunanidhi and at present actively looking after the party’s poll campaign.
Horoscope of M.K. Stalin
1 March 1953 at 23:5o hours at Chennai
longitude: 80 E 17′ and latitude: 13 N 05′
Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari : Sun 5 Years 3 Months and 20 Days
M.K. Stalin is the third son of Karunanidhi and was born to his second wife. He is now the heir apparent of Karunanidhi who expelled his elder son M.K. Alagiri in January 2014. Unlike Karunanidi’s chart the horoscope of M.K. Stalin lacks good Rajyogas. He was born on the day of Poornima (Full Moon) in Vrischik lagan rising. In the Scorpio ascendant chart of Stalin the lagna and 6th lord Mars is conjoined with 8th and 11th lord Mercury in the 5th house. It is yoga which makes his political career unstable. There is a good conjunction of 7th lord Venus and 5th lord Jupiter but it is tainted as they are falling in the 6th house of enemies and are in mutual aspect with a retrograde Saturn. At the age of 63 Stalin is nourishing dreams to become the chief minister of Tamil Nadu which doesn’t look possible very soon.
At present M.K. Stalin is running with a weak dasha of Saturn-Venus-Venus from 11 April 2016 to 21 October 2016. The Saturn and Venus are at 6/12 axis from the Scorpio ascendant of Stalin. In Navamsha these dasha lords are at 6/8 position from each other which is bad. In Jaimini Chara dasha system Stalin is under Aries-Aries period from March 2016 to March 2017. The Aries is the 6th house from the lagan having Amatayakaraka falling in the 12th house is not very favorable period. So the DMK is not going to come back to power as per my above astrological analysis of the horoscopes of father-son duo of M.Karunanidhi and M.K. Stalin.
In the chart of Congress party ( 2 January 1978 at 12 noon Delhi) the period of Jupiter-Keut is promising some improvements. In the Meena (Pisces) lagan chart the Jupiter is at 4th house and Ketu is in the ascendant. So the Congress and DMK alliance will get some good seats to become a stronger opposition this time.
I have also studied the Vijaykant and his party DMDK. The Vijaykant was born on 25 August 1952 at 17:30 hours at Madurai. He was born under Makar (Capricorn) lagan and his Moon sign is Tula (Libra). He is under Mercury-Mars dasha in Vimshottari. The Mars being the 11th lord of gains in its own house promises a good show. In Chara dasha it is Pisces-Leo period. The Amtayakaraka Venus is in Leo which is good.
Vijaykant had formed his party DMDK on 14 September 2005 at 10:09 a.m at Maduri. Tula lagan was rising at that time with Venus in the ascendant and Moon in the 4th house Makar. Now the Moon-Ketu period is running at present in Vimshottari. The anter dasha lord Ketu is weak in the 12th house of losses. In Chara dasha the period of Tula-Kanya (Libra-Virgo) is running with Amatayakaraka Mars in Mesha (Aries) falling in the 8th house from Virgo. So Vijaykant’s ambition to become a kingmaker is not going to fulfill in these assembly polls. This actor turn politician will have to suffer a disappointment from the performance of his party in the Tamil Nadu assembly polls of 2016.
Now i will give an astrological analysis of the chart of Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha.
Horoscope of J.Jayalalitha
24 February 1948 at at 13:07 , Melukote
longitude: 76 E 39′ and latitude: 12 N 40′
Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Ketu 3 Years 11 Months 23 Days
Venus : 17 February 1952 to 17 February 1972
Sun : 17 February 1972 to 16 February 1978
Moon : 16 February 1978 to 16 February 1988
Mars : 16 February 1988 to 16 February 1995
Rahu : 16 February 1995 to 15 February 2013
Jupiter: 15 February 2013 to 15 February 2029.
Jayalalithaa was born in the Taurus lagan with her chart full of great Parashari and Jaimini Raj Yoga’s. However, her father passed away when she was just 2 years old. As per the Balarishta Adhyaaya of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra the malefic planets in the 4th and 10th house gives trouble to the father. The Mars is place in the fourth house here and Sun in the tenth house of Rashi chart. The ninth lord in the chart of Jayalalithaa is Saturn, which is in ‘Sarpa-Dreshkaan’.
From Sun, the natural Karaka of father, the ninth house has Ketu and during the Ketu-Saturn period in Vimshottari in 1950, Jayalalithaa’s father died. In Dawadamsha the Ketu is place in the second house from Sun and the sub period lord Saturn is placed in the second house from the lagan in the Maraka house.
Jayalalithaa’s mother took her to Bangalore where her parents lived. During the dasha of Venus in Jayalalithaa’s horoscope, her mother started working in Tamil cinema and later she persuaded her daughter to work in films when she was just 15 years old and still in school. Venus is the lagna lord in Rashi chart in its sign of exaltation excellently placed in the eleventh house. In Dashamsha it again become the lagan lord and placed in the ninth house. Jayalalithaa started her career at a very young age of 15 years in her Venus-Jupiter period in Vimshottari. Soon she becomes the heartthrob of the millions of south-Indian cine lovers. She acted opposite the superstars of that era M.G. Ramachandran , Sivaji Ganesan , N.T. Rama Rao and Gemini Ganesan in many successful films.
The Vimshottari dasha of Sun (February 1972 to February 1978) was the most fruitful in her film career. Sun is involved in excellent Raj Yoga in the tenth house along with Mercury. For Taurus lagan the conjunction of fourth lord Sun with fifth lord Mercury is the best Raj Yoga as per Parashara. Sun is also in mutual aspect with seventh lord Mars in the Rashi chart and in Navamsha it is along with Venus the Karaka of spouse. Jayalalithaa was link with many cine stars during this dasha. However, she remain unmarried all her life. In the Navamsha chart of Jayalalithaa the seventh lord becomes Jupiter, which is in the 8th house along with Mars and is under the aspect of Saturn denying marital comforts. In Jaimini the Jupiter is Darakaraka and is conjoined with Ganatikaraka Mars in the Navamsha chart.
She did her last movie in 1980 and then went to join the AIADMK, in 1982 during her Moon maha dasha. In 1984, during the Moon-Mercury period in Vimshottari she became very powerful in the party as M.G. Ramachandran incapacitated due to a stroke and she successfully led the campaign for general elections that year. The Moon is in classical ‘Chandra-Mangal’ yoga and is under the aspect of 8th lord Jupiter. Jayalalithaa said to have tried to become the chief minister of Tamil Nadu then in the pretext that poor health of M.G. Ramachandran is not allowing him to property execute his duties.
After the death of M.G. Ramachandran she contested subsequent 1989 general elections portraying herself as his political heir. During the maha dasha of Mars (February 1988 to February 1995) Jayalalithaa captured the leadership of AIADMK by outmaneuvering ‘Janaki’ the widow of M.G. Ramachandran. Jayalalithaa become the chief minister of Tamil Nadu for the first time in year 1991 after winning the assembly polls. It was her Mars-Saturn dasha in Vimshottari. However, since Mars is in classical ‘Chandra-Mangal’ yoga of amassing wealth through illegal means it has to give its affects during its dasha. In her first tenure as chief minister (1991-96), during the dasha of Mars, Jayalalithaa drew Rs.1 as salary. However, her assets rose from Rs.3 crore in 1991 to around Rs.66 crore in just five year. It is also alleged that she spend Rs.6 crore in her foster son Sudhakaran’s wedding in September 1995. Jayalalithaa has a classical combination of having foster son in her chart.
Putrasthane Buddhakshetre Mandakshetre Athavapuna
Mandamandiyute Drishti Tada Dattadaya Suta
English Translation: In the fifth house if there is a sign of Mercury or Saturn; the Saturn and Gulika are also placed or giving aspect to the fifth house then native will have a foster son. { Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra , translation by Pt.Ganesh Dutt Pathak, page nuber 344}
In the Rashi chart of Jayalalithaa the fifth house has the sign of Mercury and Saturn by its third aspect is influencing it. The Gulika is place in the Gemini rashi and if we take the Jaimini’s sign aspects then it is influencing the dual sign Virgo the fifth house of Rashi chart thus confirming the classical combination of foster son.
In Rashi chart, the sixth house is the house of foster child. The sixth lord in Jayalalithaa’s horoscope is Venus, which is giving aspect to the fifth house. In Saptamsha the fifth lord Mercury and sixth lord Venus are conjoined together.
Her lavish lifestyle and dominating way of working irked the Tamil people and they outvoted her in the assembly elections of 1996. She was under the Vimshottari dasha of Rahu-Rahu then which is badly place in the twelfth house of losses. Her party AIADMK placed candidates in 168 seats and could won only 4 seats. Jayalalithaa also lost her election then.
In Rahu-Saturn dasha in Vimshottari in year 2001, Jayalalithaa made a spectacular come back and became the chief minister of Tamil Nadu for the second time as her party won the assembly polls handsomely. In the next assembly polls in 2006, her party lost elections and she has to content with the role of opposition leader only. It was her Rahu-Ketu period in Vimshottari in 2006. Ketu, the sub period lord , is badly place in the sixth house in the Rashi chart and in Dashamsha it is in the eighth house gave her a defeat.
She made a comeback again by winning the 2011 assembly elections with the alliances of 11 parties including DMDK of actor Vijaykanth. Jayalalithaa sworn in as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu for the third time on 16th May 2011. In her third term as chief minister, she got lots of love from the people of Tamil Nadu for of her social welfare scheme for poor peoples. Because of which her party AIADMK got tremendous success in the Lok Sabha polls in May 2014 and their 37 candidates won the elections. The DMK of M.Karunanidhi was demolished in Lok Sabah polls and they could not even open their account.
However, the recent judgment of Karnataka court has brought a political earthquake in the state. She has been sentence to an imprisonment of 4 years and the court has ordered her to pay a fine of Rs.100 crores. After her imprisonment, she has automatically disqualified from the post of chief minister –ship and of the membership of state assembly. Now because of an earlier judgment of the Supreme Court, she also debarred from fighting an election for next 10 years.
In the horoscope of Jayalalithaa there is a classical ‘Bandhan-Yoga’ present in the Rashi chart. As per Sage Parashara the equal number of planets in the 2-12, 3-11,
4-10, 5-9 and/or 6-12 houses gives imprisonment { Reference :-Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra , Published by Venketashwara Press Mumbai, page number 218-19}. Acharya Varahamira has also discussed this yoga in his Brihat Jatakam. {Note: Rahu and Ketu are not consider in the Bandhan Yoga as they are shadow planets only not physical bodies} In Jayalalithaa’s Rashi chart the 3rd and 11th house has one planet each. The 4th and 10th house has two planets each in them thus fulfilling the conditions of Bandhan Yoga. Adding to the miseries Saturn and Venus are in Sarpa Dreshkaan. The planets in Sarpa Dreshkaan also give imprisonment if other such yogas are present in the chart. As per some texts, the Dreshkaan chart is also consider for the combinations of imprisonment. In Jayalalithaa’s Dreshkaan chart there are equal of planets in the 2-12 houses.
Moreover, the Jayalalithaa’s chart also has a classical combination of losing wealth through taxes (fine) imposed by authorities.
Padad Vayya Suraacharya Vikshatati Chaananyakhechare
Karmooladata Vayya Vacchya Karavayajeen Vee Diwja
English Translation: If Jupiter is place in the 12th house from the Pada lagan (lagna Arudha) and other planets are giving aspects to him, then the native has to make expenditure in paying taxes to the authorities. { Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra by Pt. Ganesh Dutt Pathak , page number 114}
In the horoscope of Jayalalithaa the Pada lagan or Arudha lagna is Capricorn. Jupiter is in the twelfth house of Capricorn and is under the Jaimini aspect of Venus.
Now at the time of assembly polls she will be under the favorable Jupiter-Saturn-Venus dasha from 2 March 2016 to 3 August 2016. Venus exalted at the house of gains may give her success. In Chara dasha she is under the period of Leo-Cancer at present. Leo is having her Ganatikaraka representing court cases. The Cancer having Atamakaraka shows difficult time ahead. Next year from February she would be under the Chara dasha of Cancer having Atamakaraka. So even after winning the elections she is not likely to complete her term as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. The Jayalalitha will succeed to return back to the power but she is not likely to hold it for a long period due to pending court cases against her.
