Maharashtra is the most important state after Uttar Pradesh in terms of number of seats in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha (both parliament and sate assembly) . In the results of Lok Sabha elections held in April-May this year, Congress-led ‘ India Alliance’ had prevented BJP from getting absolute majority on its own by leaving behind BJP’s NDA in winning the number of seats in both these states. Now on November 20th the votes will be cast for the 288 seats of the Maharashtra state assembly , the result of which will be declared on the November 23rd . In the last three years, BJP has adopted an aggressive policy, and by breaking first Shiv Sena and then NCP, not only it has made the politics of Maharashtra very complicated but it has also created an existential crisis for many regional parties at the national level. From the astrological point of view, the study of the horoscopes of the big leaders of the Mahavikas Aghadi trio of Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP Sharad Pawar and Congress Party, as well as the horoscopes of BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis , Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and NCP (Ajit Pawar) in Mahayuti are showing an interesting political picture in upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024.
Chart 1. Horoscope Ajit Pawar
Born July 22, 1959 at 13h. 42m. at Ahmadnagar , Maharashtra , at 74 E 44 and 19 N 05 with a balance of 1 years 3 months 19 days of Mars Dasha at birth.
Ajit Pawar is the nephew of Sharad Pawar and at present he is serving as the deputy chief minister of the state since 2nd of July 2023 after he split the party of his uncle to join hands with the BJP government. In the Libra lagna horoscope of Ajit Pawar (chart 1) the Vimshottari Dasha of Mercury and Anter Dasha of Rahu was running when he created a major deflection in the erstwhile NCP of Sharad Pawar and also got the symbol and name of the party in his name by the decision of the Election Commission of India. Rahu in the 12th house is getting the aspect of Yogakaraka Saturn gave him benefit after desertion from his original party.
Mercury is the lord of 9th house (luck) and 12th house (losses) is placed in the 10th house of power along with the 11th lord the Sun. Rahu is the significant of the politics of opportunism and manipulations is in the 12th house in the sign of Mercury. In the Mercury Dasha Rahu Anter Dasha and Rahu Pratyanter Dasha, he got the position of deputy Chief Minister in the Eknath Shinde and BJP led government in Maharashtra. But the recent defeat in the Lok Sabha elections during his Saturn Pratyanter Dasha will cost him badly. He is not likely to get much success during the up- coming assembly elections and the period of Mercury Dasha Rahu Bhukti and Mercury Antra will not be favorable for him. The Dasha lord Mercury is in enemy sign Cancer in Rashi chart and in Dashmasha it is in the 8th house. And Anter Dasha lord Rahu is in the 12th house of losses in Rashi and from the Moon it is in the 8th house of humiliation. In Dashmasha it is in the 6th house showing more troubles for him.
Chart 2. Horoscope Sharad Pawar
Born December 12, 1940 at 06h. 30m. at Baramati , Maharashtra , at 74 E 35 and 18 N 09 with a balance of 2 years 2 months 8 days of Venus Dasha at birth.
Sharad Pawar’s horoscope (chart 2) is of the Scorpio Ascendant, in which the wonderful Buddha-Aditya Yog of the Sun and Mercury makes him a skilled player in politics. But the conjunction of Saturn, Jupiter and the Moon placed in the 6th house of controversies and diseases, also gave him cancer disease in the past and major ups and downs in politics. He was four-time Maharashtra chief minister but was not able to complete his tenure on any occasion. He has also served as cabinet minister in the Congress led governments at the center on three occasions. In his Maha Dasha of Mercury , Anter Dasha of Venus and Pratyanter Dasha of Mars his party was bifurcated by his own nephew Ajit Pawar. Mercury as the lord of 8th house gave him this setback but since it also has the lordship of 11th house of gains and is strongly placed in the 10th house of Navamsha and Dashmasha so he has to make a comeback also.
Now, at the time of upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra Sharad Pawar will be under Mercury Dasha Venus Anter Dasha and Venus Pratyanter Dasha from 21st of October 2024 to 16th of March 2025. The Anter Dasha lord Venus is strong in own sign and own Navamsha . In the upcoming assembly polls, his party will perform well and as part of the I.N.D.I.A. alliance can get the power in Maharashtra state. The transiting Saturn from Aquarius aspect the 10th house from lagna and the transiting Jupiter from Taurus give aspect to the 10th lord the Sun shows a period of major achievement as Dasha is also positive. But serious health problem will come during Mercury Dasha Venus Anter Dasha and Mercury Pratyanter Dasha during November 2024 to March 2025 as these Dasha lords are functional malefic for his Scorpio lagna chart.
Chart 3. Horoscope of Devendra Fadnavis
Born July 22, 1970 at 10h. 45m. at Nagpur, Maharashtra , at 79 E 06 and 21 N 09 with a balance of 12 years 5 months 00 days of Jupiter Dasha at birth.
In the Virgo lagna horoscope of Devendra Fadnavis (chart 3) Saturn, Mars, Mercury and the Sun aspect the 5th house of education. He is a law graduate from the government law collage in Nagpur and have also done a post graduate degree in Business Management. He is representing the Nagpur legislative assembly seat since 1999 (Saturn-Jupiter Dasha in Vimshottar). In Mercury Dasha and Jupiter Anter Dasha in October 2014 his party made him the chief minister of Maharashtra after BJP-Shiv Sena coalition won the state elections. But the 3rd lord the Mars is debilitated in his chart and the 6th lord Saturn in the 8th house in Rashi chart gave him struggle due to conflict with junior alliance partner Shiv Sena during the period of his chief minister tenure.
In the difficult Ketu Dasha and Venus Anter Dasha, both falling in the 12th house, he couldn’t manage to win enough seat to become chief minister again after 2019 assembly elections of the sate. But in Ketu Dasha and Rahu Anter Dasha he become the deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra after Eknath Shinde broke away from the Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray.
Now the recent setback to the BJP in Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra has made his position jittery in the party.
The transiting Saturn is right over the natal Moon of Devendra Fadnavis in the Aquarius sign which will give him even bigger challenges in the upcoming assembly elections. In the 2019 assembly elections in Maharashtra BJP had won 105 seats with 25.75% of votes. This time their number of seats may reduce further as its leader Devendra Fadnavis is under an unfavorable Ketu Dasha and Saturn Anter Dasha till December 2024. Saturn falls in the 8th house in his chart in Rashi and also in Navamsha.
Interestingly both Ajit Pawar (chart 1) and Devendra Fadnavis (chart 3) has their respective natal Moon in Aquarius sign over which the transiting Saturn is moving at present. Due to the ‘Sadhe-Sati’ effect and difficult Dasha -Anter Dasha both are likely to suffer together in their political careers.
Chart 4. Horoscope of Uddhav Thackeray
Born July 27, 1960 at 10h. 14m. at Mumbai, Maharashtra , at 72 E 49 and 18 N 58 with a balance of 11 years 4 months 19 days of Venus Dasha at birth.
In the Virgo lagna horoscope of Uddhav Thackeray (chart 4) the two natural benefic planets Jupiter and Mercury are in Kendra in their own signs. The lord of 5th house (minister post) and 6th house (conflicts and disease) is Saturn which is in the 4th house. During the Maha Dasha of Jupiter and Anter Dasha of Ketu Uddhav Thackery become the chief minister of Maharashtra in December 2019 running a coalition government with Sharad Pawar’s NCP and Congress Party. Later in the enigmatic Jupiter Dasha and Venus Anter Dasha (27 October 2020 to 28 June 2023) he had hard time in his career as during COVID it was Maharashtra which suffered the greatest number of causalities. He himself was hospitalized in November 2021 for a spinal surgery operation.
Later in June 2022 during Jupiter Dasha Venus Anter Dasha and Jupiter Pratyanter Dasha he had to resign from his post after a revolt in his party by Eknath Shinde who later joined hands with the BJP and become the chief minister himself. The entire Jupiter Dasha and Venus Anter Dasha was very bad for Uddhav Thackery as he lost his party name and symbol to Eknath Shinde who had support of a greater number of members in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) than him. The Dasha lords Jupiter and Venus are in 6/8 from each other.
But now the Jupiter Dasha and the Moon Anter Dasha from 15 April 2024 to 15 August 2025 is giving him good results again as his party Shiv Sena UBT (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has won 9 seats in Lok Sabah leaving behind Eknath Shinde’s Shivsena’s performance of 7 seat victory. We don’t have chief minister Eknath Shinde’s birth chart but the horoscope of his adversary Uddhav Thackery shows that now due to the Dasha of Jupiter and a favorable Anter Dasha of 11th lord (gains) the Moon the results of assembly elections will be in favour of the alliance led by Uddhav Thackery only. It has been observed that in the Gemini and Virgo lagna horoscope the Dasha and Anter Dasha of the Moon give very good results in general as the Moon consider the Mercury, which is the lord of lagna here, as its son only.
In the horoscope of Uddhav Thackery the favorable Jupiter Dasha Moon Anter Dasha and Saturn Pratyanter Dasha will be running from 8 November 2024 to 24 January 2025 which can give him good success in the assembly elections of the state. The Moon as the 11th lord is in the 12th house and it is in exchange of houses with the 12th lord the Sun. As per the ‘Chandra Yoga Adhyay’ of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra at the time-of-day birth if the Moon get the aspect of Jupiter, it gives the results of Raja Yoga.
