Different birth times of Narendra Modi are in circulation since his ascendancy to the post of chief minister in Gujarat. Some senior astrologers like Smt. Gyatri Devi Vasudev are taking Tula (Libra) lagan for Narendra Modi. Some others are taking Vrischik lagna with birth time as 11:00 a.m. in the morning or the birth time around 12 noon in the afternoon for the day of 17 September 1950 which is his birth date as per official records. There is no controversy over the correct birth date of prime minister Narendra Modi.
Tula or Vrischik : Which lagna is correct for Modi ?
In my view the horoscope of Vrischik (Scorpio) lagan suits Modi not the Tula (Libra) lagna one. It is well known and PM Modi has also tell himself that he had to struggle with poverty during his childhood. He was born in the family of grocers and his father died when he was just in his teens. As per Narendra Modi’s account his mother has to do menial work in the house of neighbor’s for the survival of her six children. Narendra Modi was the third eldest among six siblings. He along with his brother use to run a tea stall near a railway station at Ahmadabad.
He was born with the balance dasha of Saturn as Moon was in the 2nd part of Anuradha Nakshatra. If we take the Tula (Libra) lagan then Saturn becomes the Yogakaraka and comes in a great Raja Yoga as well as a beautiful Dhana yoga in the 11th house of gains. Does it show the birth of Modi in a poor family? In the Tula (Libra) lagan chart the birth in Saturn dasha would not have put him under stress during childhood. Moreover, the Tula lagan has another Dhana Yoga of 11th lord Sun and 9th lord Mercury which would have given his father a successful career. His father Damodardas Mulchand use to run a tea stall at Vadnagar railway station only. The dasha sequence of Saturn and Mercury for a Tula lagna chart would have given Narendra Modi a comfortable childhood.
Now see the Vrischik (Scorpio) lagan chart for Narendra Modi. Here the debilitated 9th lord Moon is in Sarpa Dreshkkana and is conjoined with malefic Mars shows trouble for father. The 4th house receiving the aspects of Saturn and Mars is a combination of short life of father as per Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. Sun the natural significant for father is with Ketu and the 9th house from it is receiving the joint aspect of Saturn and Mars.
For Scorpio lagna the Saturn is a functional malefic planet and is associated with Maraka Venus here. So the birth in Saturn maha dasha here justifies the childhood struggle of Narendra Modi.
Narendra Modi’s wanderings and his marriage
Narendra Modi left his home at the age of 17 when he had just finished his schooling. He traveled across the country in the next three years. It was during the Vimshottari dasha of Mercury-Sun , Mercury-Moon and Mercury-Mars during 1967 to 1971. Mercury is in deep combustion and is not associated in any Raja Yoga for Scorpio lagan chart. In Bhava Kundali there is a combination of four planets and the 10th house which is making a Sanyasa Yoga. The lagan lord Mars has also shifted in the 12th house showing his mental inclination towards wanderings. But since two planets Saturn and Mercury are in combustion by Sun so the Sanyasa remains only as a though and never fulfilled completely in his case. Narendra Modi came back and joined business of his uncle.
In between he was also married in 1968 but ceased living with his wife Jashodaben very shortly after marriage. Now see only the Scorpio lagan chart have the combination of lack of marital comforts not the Libra lagna chart where the 7th lord Mars is in good conjunction with 10th lord Moon.
Why Modi ceased living with his wife?
At the time of his marriage Narendra Modi was 18 years of age and Jashodaben was just 16. As per Jashodaben she had spent 3 months with her husband and later he left her to begin wandering in the Himalayas practicing Sanyasa. Modi return home after 3 years but never made any contact with his wife and left home to join his uncle’s canteen at Ahmadabad.
In the Scorpio lagna chart the 7th lord Venus is in own asterism (Nakshatra) which as per some classic text gives lack of happiness from marriage. The 7th house from lagna, Moon and Venus is receiving the joint aspect of Saturn and Mars which destroy the marital bliss.
Now see the Navamsha chart. We have rectify Narendra Modi’s birth time, which we got as per some sources, from 12:12 hours to 12:09 hours giving him Scorpio rising in the Navamsha for Scorpio lagna.
In the Scorpio Navamsha chart the 7th lord Venus is with Rahu. The lagna lord Mars is debliteated and is in mutual aspect with Sun and the 8th lord Mercury showing lack of marital happiness. He got married in the dasha of Mercury which is afflicted in the Navamsha chart.
Moreover, if we see the Scorpio lagna Rashi chart the Rahu in the 5th house receiving the aspect of Sun make an astrological combination of no child birth due to the curse of serpent. This yoga is discussed in the ‘Poorva Janma Shrapa Adhayaa’ of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. But if we take the Libra (Tula) lagan chart for Narendra Modi then the 5th lord Saturn giving aspect to its own house along with the lagna lord Venus shows the promise of childbirth. Narendra Modi does not having any child is astrologically explainable with only the Scorpio lagna chart not the Tula lagna chart is amply clear.
Education in Political Science
Narendra Modi studied political science in his masters degree course from Gujarat University. The Scorpio lagna chart amply explain his education in political science as Sun is giving aspect to the 5th house of education.
Work for RSS during Emergency ( 1975 to 1977)
After leaving his home Narendra Modi started actively working for RSS (Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangha) as a Pracharak ( Preacher). On 25 June 1975 then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared state of emergency which continued until 1977. Narendra Modi went underground and was never arrested during this period. Now if he has Tula (Libra) lagan chart then a Bandhan Yoga would have got him arrested like most of his fellow leaders. In Libra lagna there are equal numbers of planets in the 2nd and 12th house from the ascendant which make a Bandhan yoga.
In the Scorpio (Vrischik) lagna chart he was under Mercury-Saturn ( 17 February 1975 to 27 October 1977) dasha then. The anter dasha lord Saturn is 3rd lord of placed in the 10th house which as per Bhavartha Ratnakar is a good yoga for making one courageous and hardworking. Narendra Modi become involve in printing pamphlets opposing government, sending them to Delhi and organizing protests. He also wrote a book in Gujarati “Sangharsh ma Gujarat” (Struggles of Gujarat) describing events during emergency during this Saturn anter dasha. In Dashamsha the Saturn is the lord of lagan in beautiful exchange with 5th lord Venus there.
Joining BJP
He was assigned by the RSS to the BJP (Bharitiya Janata Party) in 1985 ( Venus-Venus in Vimshottari). It was during Venus maha dasha that he entered into politics. Venus is Vargottama and strongly place in the 10th house in Rashi chart. In Dashamsha Venus is in the 2nd house as the lord of 6th and 11th house.
He rose within the party (BJP) in 1990 when he helped L.K. Advani in organizing massive Ram Ratha Yatra and later Murli Manohar Joshi’s 1991-92 Ekta Yatra. It was Venus-Moon and Venus-Mars period in his chart when he was recognized for his work in the BJP. The anter dasha lords Moon and Mars are in Raja Yoga in the ascendant of Rashi chart. In Dashamsha chart the Moon is in the 11th house of gains.
Death of Narendra Modi’s father
In 1989 Narendra Modi’s father died because of bone cancer. He was a RSS Pracharak at that time and was at home during funeral. The dasha was of Venus-Moon in Vimshottari (April 1989 to December 1990). Venus is in the 10th house which is the 2nd house, a Maraka Bhava, from the 9th house of father. Moon is bebliteated 9th lord with 6th lord Mars showing death of father with serious illness.
General Secretary of BJP
In May 1998 Modi was promoted as the general secretary of the BJP for his work during successful Gujarat assembly polls. It was during Venus-Saturn period in Vimshottari in the horoscope of Narendra Modi.
Chief Minister of Gujarat
On 3rd October 2001 Narendra Modi was asked to replace Keshubhai Patel as the chief minister of Gujarat. On 7 October 2001 Modi took the oath of office. It was during Venus-Mercury-Venus ( 21 May 2001 to 10 November 2001) running in his horoscope then. Mercury the anter dasha lord is in the 11th house of gains and is conjoined with 10th lord Sun. But since it is also taking the lordship of 8th house it has to create some obstacles during its sub period. The Gujarat riots in February-March 2002 give a setback to his image for which he subsequently claimed that some journalist acted irresponsibly in their coverage of events. Narendra Modi had to face a long enquiry by the SIT (special investigating team) formed by Supreme Court of India which troubled him for the next one decade.
The conjunction of 10th lord Sun with the 8th lord Mercury and Ketu has to give troubles in his career. The maha dasha lord Venus taking the lordship of 7th house also shows violence. Modi was accused for mishandling the situation post Godhara incident which instigated the violence leading to killing hundreds of people and leaving thousands homeless.
However, Modi managed to won the assembly elections in December 2002 and sworn in as the chief minister for the second time. It was during Venus-Mercury-Jupiter in Vimshottari.
In his second term ( 2002-07) he lead Gujarat to become an attractive investment destination. He established special economic zone and technology parks in Gujarat making it the most develop state in the country in terms of economic growth rate.
He won the next two assembly elections very easily dominating the opposition Congress party despite the fact that they were ruling at the center and troubling him with judicial inquires and media trials. It was during Sun-Saturn ( 2007) and Moon-Rahu ( 2012) Vimshottari dashas when he won consecutive elections as chief minister becoming a leader of national stature.
2014 General Elections
In September 2013 the BJP announced that Narendra Modi would be their candidate for prime minister in the Lok Sabha elections of 2014. In Narendra Modi’s chart the Moon-Jupiter period was approaching from 28 September 2013 which would be running till 26 January 2015. Moon and Jupiter are in strong Gajakesari yoga in the Rashi chart of Narendra Modi. Moon as the lord of 9th house and Jupiter as the 5th lord are both functional benefic planets for Vrischika lagna chart of Modi promising him a great rise. It was no surprise that BJP won the general elections by attaining full majority in the leadership of Narendra Modi in May 2014. He was then under Moon-Jupiter-Mercury period ( 18 March 2014 to 26 May 2014) in Vimshottari dasha system.
In Dashamsha chart Moon and Jupiter are making Gajakesari yoga giving him dignified position. The sub period lord Mercury is strongly place in the 6 th house of Dashamsha chart.
Economic Policies and Demonetization
Modi announced various schemes to speed up the economic growth of country and reforming the ‘red tape’ of bureaucracy that had traditionally hinder the business and investments. He abolished the planning commission and replaced it with Niti Ayog. Make In India, Jan Dhana Yogana, Swaccha Bharata, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yogana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana and GST (goods and services bill) were the major schemes which he implemented in the first two years of his tenure.
Recently in the second week of November PM Modi took a historic step to demonetize the currency of India for unearthing the black money. He took this bold decision to tackle corruption, fake currency and black money that affect the various sectors of Indian economy. By demonetizing the 80% of Indian currency in higher denomination notes PM Modi has brought an economic revolution in the country. While people could be cash-strapped for next few weeks but this move is expected to boost India’s image and economic prospects in the long run.
Narendra Modi is running with Moon-Mercury period from 26 September 2016 to 26 February 2018. Both dasha lords are in 3/11 position in Rashi chart. But Mercury being the 8th lord in the Rashi chart and in the 6/8 position from Moon in Dashamsha chart is bound to create some troubles for Narendra Modi during its anter dasha. While people in general will appreciate him for this bold step to eradicate corruption but his political enemies will unite against him to form a front giving BJP a tough ride in assembly polls in 2017.
Predictions about general elections in India in year 2019
However, in the long run his work will be appreciated and he is expected to get reelected in the general elections of 2019. At that time dasha would be Moon-Venus in Vimshottari. Venus the anter dasha lord is Vargottama but since it is the lord of 7th (war ) and the 12th (losses) houses so it will also give lots of difficulties to him at that time. His party BJP will form a coalition government at the center struggling with troubles in managing domestic affairs. In the Moon-Venus dasha of Modi India is likely to face a war with Pakistan and China in year 2020.
