Horoscope of Chirag Paswan and Some Notes on Chandra lagna

In Vedic Astrology the yoga’s from Chandra lagna or Moon sign has been given very special importance. In Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra’s chapter number 38 ‘Chandra Yoga Adhyay’ sloka number 13, the Sage Parashara has specifically instructed us to see all the good and bad yoga’s from Chandra Kundali before venturing into the other yoga’s result in the horoscope. Sage Parashara has clearly mentioned that bad yoga’s from Chandra lagan destroy all the other good Yoga’s (Raja Yoga’s and Dhana Yoga’s), so for this reason the yoga’s from Chandra Kundali should be taken into consideration first. So in an analysis of any horoscope the yoga’s from Chandra lagna or Moon sign should be the starting point. In this article i am discussing the horoscope of Chirag Paswan and his father late Ram Vilas Paswan as an example case on how to study a ‘Chandra Kundali’.

Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party is fighting on the 143 assembly seats out of 243 seats in the Bihar assembly polls which are underway now. The results of these elections will come on the 10th of November 2020. I had earlier discussed the horoscopes of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav in my article posted on 12th of Sepember 2020, the link of which is given below.

Bihar Assembly Elections 2020- An Astrological Study

Interestingly Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav both have Kemadruma Moon in their horoscopes. In Nitish Kumar’s Gemini lagna chart Moon is in Scorpio sign in the 6th house receiving the aspect of Saturn from the 4th house. Jupiter, Sun, Mercury and Rahu are in the 4th house from Moon in sign Aquarius. Jupiter in the Kendra from Moon creates a ‘Gaja Kesari’ yoga. Mercury in Kendra from Moon makes ‘Amala Keerti’ yoga. These Yoga’s has been given in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra’s Chandra Yoga Adhyay (chapter number 38). Thus in Nitish Kumar’s chart there is good cancellation of Kemadruma Yoga. In Tejashwi Yadav’s Capriocrn chart Moon is in Aquarius receiving the aspect of its sign lord Saturn. His birth took place in day time, Moon is in Navamsha of its friend Mercury and Moon get the aspect of Jupiter which is very good yoga for prosperity as per Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra’s Chandra Yoga Adhyay sloka number 4. As per this sloka if the birth took place in day time and Moon is in its own Navamsha or its friends Navamsha getting aspect of Jupiter then it gives lots of prosperity. If the birth took place in nigth time and Moon is in own Navamsha or friendly Navamsha receiving the aspect of Venus then it give lots of prosperity. So in Tejashwi’s case also the Kemadruma Yoga of Moon get diluted just like in the case of Nitish Kumar. The presense of auspicious Yoga’s from Chandra Lagna reduce the bad effects of Kemadruma Yoga to a very large extent.

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Mercury 3 Years 2 months 14 days

Chirag Paswan is the son of former minister of parliament and cabinet minister Shri Ram Vilas Paswan. His father was the founder of a regional party Lok Janshakti which was formed on 28 November 2000 after a deflection from Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United. Ram Vilas Paswan was very successful when it comes to clinging to the power and political opportunism as he served in the cabinet of five Indian prime minister’s from 1996 to 2000. But his son Chirag Paswan’s horoscope is not very promising as we can see there that Moon is in Kemadruma Yoga with no benefic planet giving aspect to it and/or in Kendra from it. In Chirag Paswan’s chart Moon though is Vargottama in Pisces sign in the 3rd house of creative talent. He was an actor who did a Hindi movie in 2011 but wasn’t very successful. It was the Vimshottari dasha of Venus-Mercury in his horoscope which brought him into the glamor world of Hindi cinema in Mumbai.

Chirag Paswan is an engineering graduate as we can see in his horoscope his 5th lord Venus is in the Naksthra of Rahu. But Venus as the 5th and 10th lord is deep combust with 8th lord Sun which can be bad for his career in the future. Although in Capricorn lagna chart Saturn, Mercury and Venus forms very good Raja Yoga but here they are conjoined with functional malefic Sun which is combusting all these planets. Sun as the 8th lord and Jupiter as the 12th lord in the 10th house of career do not show very high political position for him. From Chandra Kundali all these planets are in the 8th house which is not auspicious.

Shoola Yoga in Chirag Paswan’s chart

One should also see ‘Nabhas Yoga’s in the horosclope for making a general interpretation about a native’s life. In case of Chirag Paswan we have all the planets in 3 sign’s only , making a ‘Shoola Yoga’. In Nabhasa Yoga’s shadow planets Rahu and Ketu are not take into consideration. The ‘Shoola Yoga’ gives native trouble from the enemies and also create obstacles in career. Chirag Paswan is under Moon-Rahu period in Vimshottari (June 2020 to December 2021) which shows some setback in his political career. Moon is in Kemadruma Yoga and anter dasha lord Rahu is in the 6th house of struggles. Rahu is receiving the aspect of 6th lord Jupiter which is good ‘Ashta-Lakshmi’ yoga but then Mars from the 12th house also aspect this Rahu. So during this sub period of Rahu we have seen Chirag Paswan taking the bold decision of fighting assembly elections along and now that too in the absence of his father who had experience of more than 50 years in politics. His father had mostly done politics by making alliances with different political parties but Chirag seems to be more ambitious who wanted to be a ‘king maker’ in Bihar politics. Will his political ambitions or imaginations get fulfilled ?

As per my humble understanding Chirag Paswan will get a huge setback as his party is not likely to do well in the assembly elections of Bihar. The period of Moon-Rahu-Jupiter (from September 2020 to November 2020) is going to give him a jolt and serious loss. His party is not likely to win more than 5- seats out of 143 they are contesting. The sub period lord Jupiter is in enemy sign Taurus and enemy Navamsha Libra.

What is the future of Chirag Paswan ?

Chirag Paswan has just lost his father on 8th of October 2020 when he was under Vimshottari Dasha of Moon-Rahu. The maha dasha lord Moon is in the 3rd house which is the 7th house from the 9th house of father. The anter dasha lord Rahu is in the 9th house from Sun which is the Karaka for father. His maha dasha lord Moon is in Kemadruma Yoga which is not getting cancel in his chart. The next maha dasha of Mars will come in January 2029 which is also not very promising as Mars is in the 12th house of losss. Moon is Vargottama and it is placed in the Navamsha lagan. So he will remain active in the politics but will not get any major success life his father.

Mars and Saturn both aspect the 7th house from Janma lagna which is a major yoga for delay in marriage in the horoscope of Chirag Paswan. At the age of 38 Chirag Paswan is still unmarried. Astrologically he is likely to get marry after the age of 39 during his Moon-Jupiter dasha in Vimshottari in year 2022. Jupiter is the lord of his Navamsha lagna. Before this he may also get some ministerial post in the central government of Narendra Modi next year. His Moon-Rahu dasha can make him a cabinet minister. Rahu is getting aspect of 11th lord Mars and in Navamsha it is in the 11th house of gains.

Horoscope of Ram Vilas Paswan

Ram Vilas Paswan is 9 time minister of parliament (MP) and have been into the cabinets of 5 prime minister of India during 1996 to 2009. He was know as the ‘weatherman of Indian politics’ for his political astuteness, opportunism and mastery in the skill of political negotiations. In this 50 year long political career he championed the cause of Dalit community the post downtrodden people of Indian society. He aspired to be the chief minister of Bihar but his ambition were never fulfilled but to other dominant leaders of ‘Mandal Era’ like Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar. See the strength of lagna and Moon in his horoscope. The lagna, which is Makar, is receiving the aspect of Saturn, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter. Four or more planets giving aspect to lagna and/or Moon makes very good Raja Yoga as per a Parashari dictum. The horoscope of Ram Vilas Paswan is a classical example of it. In his 50 years long political career he was know for his sincerity, hard work, down to earth behaviour, administrative skills and dignity. There was no stain of corruption on his clothes unlike many of his contemporary who were the products of socialist movement in 1970’s.

Kedar Yoga in the horoscope of Ram Vilas Paswan

In the horoscope of Ram Vilas Paswan all the planets, except Rahu-Ketu, are in the 4 Rashi’s. This is called Kedar Yoga which give a native very balanced approached in career and he remain calm and composed in difficult circumstances. Unline his son, who has all the planets in 3 sign making a bad Shoola Yoga, he has a very good Nabhas Yoga in his chart.

Now notice here the strength of Moon in the horoscope of Ram Vilas Paswan, Moon as the 7th lord is in the 9th house of luck. The 9th lord is in the 7th house of public life. This beautiful exchange of 7th house lord and 9th house lord is a Raja Yoga. Moon is in exchange with its sign lord or Moon is in conjunction or getting aspect from its sign lord is a Raja Yoga as per the Chandra Yoga Adhyay of Brihat Parashara Hora Shatra. So the Chandra Kundali of Ram Vilas Paswan has lot of strength.

Early political career and second marriage

Ram Vilas Paswan first got elected to Bihar legislative Assembly in 1969 when he was under Rahu-Saturn dasha in Vimshottari. He was also selected as the DSP (deputy supritendent of police) in 1969 before coming into politics. Rahu is in the 5th house of minister’s post which took him into politics at a very young age. There is a ‘Bandhan Yoga’ in his chart as 7th house is hemmed between Sun and Mars which are creating a ‘Paap Kartari’ also. He was in Jail during 1975-1977 during Rahu-Venus and Rahu-Sun dasha in Vimshottari. In 1977 he won Lok Sabha elections by getting 89.93 % votes which was included into the Guinnes book of world records. It was Rahu-Moon dasha in Vimshottari. In Jupiter maha dasha he got married for the second time in 1982 after giving divorce to the first wife in 1981. Chirag Paswan is his son from the second marriage. The exchange between 7th lord and 9th lord is also a yoga for more than two marriages which he had. See the Moon as the 7th lord is also in conjunction with the 12th lord Jupiter.

Rise in political career in Saturn maha dasha

Then during entire Saturn maha dasha (1996 to 2014) he enjoyed the Raja Yoga for being the minister of cabinet in the central government of various prime ministers. His party use to get only 4 to 6 MP’s but still with his political smartness he use to bag a post for himself in the cabinet very time. In 2014 he smartly moved with the NDA sending huge victory of Narendra Modi. He was in the Modi cabinet of 2014 and 2019. See the strength of Vargottama Saturn in his horoscope. The dasha of Saturn and Mercury has to give him benefits of Raja Yoga. But then there is some constrain in this Raja Yoga of Saturn, Mercury and Venus in the horoscope of Ram Vilas Paswan. These three planets are in their enemy sign Cancer and also under ‘Paap Kartari’ yoga. If planets forming the Raja Yoga comes under such condition then it bring some limitations in native’s career. It is well know that Ram Vilas Paswan wanted to be the chief minister of Bihar but he was unable to expand his mass base and was confined to be mainly a regional leader in Bihar. His party Lok Janashakti would never been able to get more than 6-7% of votes in Bihar assembly. Thus Ram Vilas Paswan was not able to rise much beyond a certain level in national or state politics.

He died in Mercury-Sun dasha in Vimshottari on 8th of October 2020 after undergoing a heart surgery. Mercury is in the 7th house, a Maraka house, in its enemy sign Cancer and in enemy Navamsha Scorpio. The anter dasha lord Sun is the lord of 8th house badly placed in the 6th house of diseases. In Jaimini system it was Chara Dasha of Sagittarius-Libra was running at the time of his death. Sagittarius is the 6th house from his Atamakaraka Venus. Libra is the 6th house from his Karakamsha lagna which is Pisces.

Now Chirage Paswan has inherited the political legacy of his father but his horoscope is not as strong as compare to his father so he is not likely to achieve that much success in any case. The political career of Chirag Paswan will be very moderate and he is going to create a lots of enemies for himself by his own mistake due the presence of bad Kemadruma Yoga and Shoola Yoga in his horoscope.

Pret Badha Yoga or Pishacha Yoga in Astrology- Trouble through evil spirits

Pret Badha Yoga or Pishacha Yoga are the astrological combinations for trouble from evil spirits or ghosts. These yogas are lesser known as the major astrological text such as Bhriat Parashra Hora Shastra and Bhriat Jataka etc. has not discuss them. The Sage Parashara in his Bhriat Parashara Hora Shastra has elaborately explained though the astrological yogas for past life curses in the ‘Poorva-Janam-Sharap-Addhayaa’. The chapter number 84 of Bhriat Parashara Hora Shastra has discuss the 70 yogas which occurs due to curses from past life which gives childlessness to the native in present birth. Nowadays astrologers have started using the term ‘Pitra-Dosha’ for it and have over simplified these yogas without understanding their essence. There are 11 yogas for curse by father from previous birth, 13 yogas for curse coming from mother, 13 yogas for curse from brother, 4 yogas for curse by maternal uncle (Mama), 7 yogas for curse from Brahmin (priest) , 11 yogas describing curse from wife (spouse) and 9 yogas which explain curse by the Pret or Evil Spirit in the previous life. These yogas are mainly for childlessness.

The Sage Parashara in his ‘Hora Shastra’ has also given astrological remedies to remove the effect of these past life curses. These astrological remedies include donations, Mantra Japa, Puja, Yantra, Planting trees, going for pilgrimages, serving cow and Brahmin etc. The Sage Parashara has specifically indicated that native having these yogas in his chart should himself do these remedies. Parashra has nowhere mention that one can hire a priest for doing Puja or Mantra Japam. These curses of past life birth are due to our own bad Karmas which we can get-rid of by either patiently enduring them or by doing Praschit Karma (penance) with pure heart. Sage Parashra has not recommended wearing a gem stone or giving a contract to someone for doing Puja on our . The modern age astrologers has oversimplified these ‘Poorva Janma Sharapa’ Yogas given by Sage Parashara and started addressing them as ‘Pitra Dosha’ in a horoscope indicating the placement of Rahu in certain houses. In reality the Sage Parashra has mention 70 yogas for giving curses due to past life bad Karmas which can deny progeny for the native in present birth. Astrologers in modern days are using ‘Pitra-Dosha’ which is neither mention by Parashara nor by any other ancient authority in Hindu astrology classics. The same applied with ‘Kaal-Sarpa-Dosha’ which is nowhere found in any major classical text of Hindu Jyotish.

Now I will come to the Pret Badha Yoga which is discuss in Jataka Tattwam very briefly in ‘Shashta Viveka Adhayaa’ Sloka number 14 and 15. The Pandit Mahadev Pathak had written Jataka Tattwam in the last decades of 19^th Century which was later translated into English by legendry Subramanian Shastry. In this book the Pret Badha yoga has briefly explained in two Slokas in ‘Shashta Viveka Adhayaa’

A weak Moon in the 8^th house with Saturn 2. Rahu and Saturn in the ascendant are the two yogas that can give trouble from evil spirits to the native.

Apart from this the “Pratham Vivik Adhayaa” Sloka number 112 of Jataka Tattwam gives a Pischacha Yoga which is as given here “ Moon afflicted with Rahu in the lagna and malefic planets in trine houses gives Pischacha Yoga to native”. This yoga is also mention in the classical text Shambhu Hora Prakash where apart from Moon the Sun with Rahu in the lagna with malefic planets placed in trine houses produce this dreaded yoga.

After studying the horoscopes of people suffering from evil spirits I have found two more astrological combinations which are given below. These yogas should be checked in Rashi, Navamsha and Trimshamsha charts.

Lagna, 2^nd , 4^th and 9^th houses afflicted by malefic planets Rahu, Mars and Saturn can give trouble from evil spirits.
Atamakaraka badly placed and afflicted by Rahu or hard malefic planets. Gulika in the lagna getting Jaimini aspect by malefic planets ( Rahu, Mars and/or Saturn) can also give trouble from evil spirits.

Now I will discuss some example horoscopes of persons suffering from evil spirits which are known to me to explain the validity of the above mention 5 yogas for Pret Badha.

Case 1. Male ( Young Businessman)

29 June 1991, 20:15 hours

Longitude 94E 54’ and Latitude 27N 28’

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Moon 9 Years 5 months 23 days

Gulika – Pisces , Karakamsha lagna- Pisces

This young businessman is suffering from an evil spirit since last 3-4 years and having strange dreams continuously. His career, family life and health has suffered due to it. Gulika is in Pisces in the Karakamsha lagna. His Atamakaraka Venus is in Pisces in the Navamsha. The Rahu and Sun are giving Jaimini aspect to the Gulika.

Notice the afflicted Moon with Saturn in the lagna. Mars aspect them and also the 2^nd house. The 9^th lord Mercury is with Ketu and the 8^th lord Sun. The 2^nd, 4^th and 9^th houses/lords are all afflicted by malefic planets. Atamakaraka Venus is with Mars which is debliteated.

Now see this yoga in Navamsha and Trimshamsha. In Navamsha the 2^nd lord is Moon which is with 8^th lord Saturn. The 4^th lord is Mercury which is under the aspect of Saturn. Mars is afflicting the 9^th house with Sun. In the Trimshamsha the sign Pisces is rising with malefic Saturn in the 7th house along with Moon giving aspect to it. The 4th house get the bad aspects of Sun and Saturn both in Trimshamsha. The 2nd lord Mars is in the 9th house getting the malefic aspect of Saturn complete the hypothesis. The problems started in Rahu-Saturn dasha in 2014. He suffered lots of losses in business and his father was also cheated with someone later in Rahu-Mercury period. Their family has not recovered from these setbacks and the boy is still unmarried due to career struggle.

Case 2. Female ( Troubled by a Muslim evil spirit )

3 September 1960, 11:28 hours

Longitude 79E 40’ and Latitude 29N 37’

Balance of Dasha Moon 4 Years 6 months 7 days

Gulika- Virgo, Karakamsha lagna- Virgo

An evil soul of a Muslim ‘Pathan’ enter his body many a times since 1994. She then use to shot like a man and beat her husband. Her family consulted with many psychologist and even ‘Tantrik’s’ but no one able to assess what is the real issue. Gulika here is in Virgo which is the Karakamsha of this lady. Gulika is getting the Jaimini aspect of malefic Saturn.

Notice the afflicted 2^nd , 4^th and 9^th houses lords in all the Vargas. In Tula lagna Rashi chart the 2^nd lord Mars is in the 8^th house. The 4^th lord Saturn is under the aspect of this Mars. Saturn is retrograde and is with 6^th lord Jupiter which due to becoming functional malefic is not helpful. The 9^th lord Mercury is with Sun and Rahu and it is getting the aspect of Mars. When you will check her Navamsha and Trimshamsha then you will find that the 2^nd , 4^th and 9^th houses/lords are all afflicted by malefic planets.

As per Jaimini system the Atakamaraka is Mars which is in the 8^th house getting the Jaimini aspect of Ganatikaraka Moon. The problem started in 1994 when she was passing under Jupiter-Saturn in Vimshottari. An evil soul enter her body while she was at roof of her home. She suddenly got excited and jumped from the roof and injured her body. Since then she is been troubled by that evil soul of Muslim Pathan many a times.

Noticeable point here is the lordship of Jupiter in all the Varga charts discuss above. In the Rashi chart Jupiter is the lord of 3^rd and 6^th house. In Navamsha it is 7^th lord a Maraka. In Trimshamsha, where Libra sign is rising, it is again a functional malefic.

Case 3. Male ( Businessman trouble by Tantra)

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Jupiter 3 years 5 months 11 days

Gulika- Pisces , Karakamsha- Sagittarius

This Makar lagna horoscope is of a businessman who had to suffer due to some ‘Tantra’ done over his family by his own brother and his wife. They are living in a big family house and have lots of commercial properties. He earned money in millions in the business of trading in fruits and vegetables at large scale. But he lost almost all the share in parental property and wealth due to his younger brother doing some evil Tantra over him. Gulika in his case is in Pisces which gives the Jaimini aspect to his Karakamsha which is in Sagittarius. Rahu is conjoined with Gulika in his horoscope.

The chart has a classical combination of losing parental property. The 4^th lord Mars and 8^th lord Sun are in a bad exchange. Now notice the affliction on the 2^nd , 4^th and 9^th houses lords in the Rashi chart. Saturn as the lord of 2^nd house is retrograde and is falling in the 8^th house. Saturn is with 4^th lord Mars and is giving aspect to the 9^th lord Mercury.

The affliction to the 2^nd, 4^th and 9^th houses lords repeats in Navamsha and Trimshamsha charts. In Trimshamsha the Saturn is again in the 8th house as the lord of 4^th house. Saturn give aspect to the 2^nd house and its lord Jupiter. Mars aspect the 9^th lord Moon completing the condition which I had mention.

His sufferings came in the maha dasha of Venus ( from October 1996 to October 2016). Many a times he saw the drop of blood over his bedroom wall appearing mysteriously. Strange objects were found in the home from nowhere. Notice the close conjunction of Venus with Rahu. They are under the 8^th aspect from Mars in Rashi chart. Venus is though the Yogakaraka for Makar lagan but it is conjoined with 7^th lord (Maraka) Moon and also with malefic Rahu. From the Moon Venus becomes the lord of 8^th house. In Navamsha and Trimshamsha the Venus is with Rahu and get the aspect of Saturn. In both Navamsha and Trimshamsha Venus becomes the functional malefic so its whole dasha has to be bad for him. In the maha dasha of Sun later in 2017-2018 he got some share in his parental property. The exalted Sun as the 8^th lord finally gave him some respite in form of parental wealth. Throughout the Venus dasha earlier he was suffering from evil Tantra done over him by his younger brother.

Case 4. Male (Evil Tantra done by business competitor)

27 January 1981, 04:24 hours

Longitude 72 E 49’ and Latitude 18N 58’

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Mars 3 years 5 months 28 days

Gulika- Leo , Karakamsha- Virgo

Many a times we come across such cases where people tell us that they are being trouble by some ‘Tantra’ done by their business rivals to inflict damage upon them. This is such case of a young businessman who comes from an influential family in Nagpur. He has Gulika in Leo which is getting the Jaimini aspect from malefic Mars and Sun. His business was flourishing until 2010 when a new competitor arrived and started doing some evil practices openly against him. It was Jupiter-Rahu in Vimshottari in his horoscope then.

Now check the parameter of affliction to the 2^nd , 4^th and 9^th houses/lords in the above given Varga charts. In Rashi chart malefic Sun, Mars and Ketu are in the 2^nd house. Mars aspect the 9^th house. The 4^th house and its lord Jupiter is with retrograde Saturn in a planetary war. In Navamsha the 2^nd house has Saturn and 9^th house has Rahu. In Trimshamsha Saturn from the 12^th house aspect the 2^nd and 9^th house both. Mars gives its bad aspect to the 2^nd house from the 8^th house. The 4^th house here is free from affliction.

His competitor inflicted strange Tantra over him as he told me that they use to find quite mysterious things at his showroom ever morning when staff use to do the cleaning. His problem were increased during Jupiter-Rahu dasha ( from February 2016 to July 2018) when he suffered from piles and stomach ailments despite having a health dietary habits. He is suffering from these disease, court cases, and business losses and have not been able to get marry despite best of the efforts by his family. Saturn afflicting the 7^th house from lagan and Venus has to give troubles in getting married. He is now under the maha dasha of Saturn since July 2018 and have lost hopes of getting married. Some relief is expected in Saturn-Mercury dasha after July 2021. Both Saturn and Mercury are in good exchange of 2^nd and 10^th houses which will give him success in career and happiness in family.

I have in my collection many such cases of person suffering from evil spirits but the classical combinations mention by Jataka Tattwam are not applicable fully. Although the affliction to the lagna (self) , 2^nd house (family), 4^th house (home) and 9^th house (grace of god and luck) was found in Rashi , Navamsha and Trimshamsha charts. Gulika was found to be getting the Jaimini aspect of malefic planets in all cases.

Remedies: As per Prashna Marg the ‘Maha Mrityunjaya Japam’ for 8000 times and its Homa is a good remedy to get relief from any ‘Abhichaar Karma’. It has also been observed Gayatri Homa or Gayatri Sadhana a very good remedy in such cases. You can conduct 5 Gayatari Homa’s in a period of 90 days at your home to get rid of the bad effects of evil spirits. Also doing Puja of Hanuman, Narsimha, Kali or Kaal Bharava as per the local custom is very helpful to get relief from the bad effects of evil spirits or any kind of negative energy. During the period of ‘Sadhana’ a person affected with evil spirit should avoid Tamsik food like non-veg, garlic, onion, wine etc. to get best results.

The Amavasya (no Moon) of Chaitra lunar month is called ‘Bhootani Amavasya’ which is most suitable to perform a remedy or Anushthana to get rid of evil spirit of any kind. The Amavasya of Chaitra Krishna Paksha is also preferred for performing ‘Pitru Dosha Puja’ at pilgrimages. Other good option is to perform major remedies on Amavasya occurring on Tuesday or Saturday. Amavasya, Dwadasha and Chathurdashi Tithi is consider best for Pitru Dosha Puja.

Identical Horoscopes, Contrasting Destinies- A case study through divisional horoscopes

Sage Parashara in his Bhriat Parashara Hora Shastra has discussed 16 different types of divisional horoscope or varga charts. Astrologers use these divisional horoscopes or varga charts to see the strength of planets and for analysis the different aspects of a native’s life. These divisional horoscopes are useful when we have to interpret the results of Nakshatra Dasha’s like Vimshottari, Astottari, Dwisaptati Sama Dasha, Chathura Sheeti Sama Dasha etc. In case of Rashi Dasha’s like Chara Dasha or Mandooka Dasha we only use the Rashi chart mainly. The Sages has given various Navamsha Dasha’s to apply then on Navamsha chart.

In modern times many astrologers have stopped using many of the divisional horoscopes which is not a correct practice when they are mainly relaying on the Nakshatra dasha such as Vimshottari. Such practice can led to lots of confusion if one come across the horoscopes of twins or a pair of identical horoscopes.

The identical horoscope are the one where two natives have similar Rashi charts due to their birth on the same date and around the same time but in the different families. In that case the rising sign ( ascendant) is similar but it is the divisional horoscopes and the background of the native’s families that make the difference in their destinies. I have 4 such pairs of identical horoscopes out of which one case I am going to discuss in this paper.

Study of Divisional horoscopes or Varga Charts

Case 1. Male

16 June 1984, 11:00 a.m. at Hyderabad (Telangana)

Longitude- 78E 28’ and Latitude- 17N 23’

Case 2. Female

16 June 1984, 11:35 hours at Ludhiana (Punjab)

Longitude: 75E 51’ and Latitude: 30N 54’

In the two horoscopes given above the Rashi chart and the planetary position is similar due to the proximity in the birth time of these nativities. In the case 1 the native (male) was born in a rich family of Hyderabad. He was excellent in his studies but couldn’t pursue a career due to a very serious kidney aliment. He had to undergo a kidney transplant in year 2007 and was not able to recover property. He is master’s in Bio-Chemistry and is a very talented painter but didn’t have any career because of frequent illness. He is having dialyses 3 times in a day and has not yet got married. The case 2 is of a female native which has the similar Rashi chart to the case 1 given above. However, due to the difference of 35 minutes in their birth time and an entirely different place of birth the degrees of rising sign are not the same. Thus the rising sign in the various divisional charts are different in both cases. In Bhava Kundali the position of Sun, Moon and Venus has changed in case of the female native. She is having sound health and is living a happy married life in abroad. She was born in a middle class family of Ludhiana and got married at very young age of 23 years. She went to Australia with her husband in 2010. She is a mother of two children now and enjoying a comfortable life thanks to the successful career of her husband. These two nativities have identical Rashi charts but their destinies are contrasting which an astrologer can only understand with the help of divisional horoscopes. Let’s us analysis the various aspects of their lives with the help of divisional horoscopes.

Bhava Chalit or Bhava Kundali analysis:

In the Leo lagna chart the Moon is in the 6^th house of disease. In the Bhava Chalit of male chart it has retain its position in the 6^th house which made him suffer mentally due to a serious illness. But in case of female native the Moon has move into the 5^th house joining Jupiter there giving her a peaceful life. Also notice the change in the position of Sun and Venus in the Bhava-Chalit of female horoscope it has moved into the 10^th house joining a benefic Mercury there. The lagna lord Sun in the 10^th house of Bhava-Chalit along with benefics Mercury and Venus is giving strength to the ascendant.

Navamsha Chart or D-9 analysis :

Now analysis the Navamsha chart of these two natives separately and also in corroboration with the Rashi chart to understand why one of them had a life threatening illness whereas the other had the normal health. In the Leo lagna Rashi chart the lagna lord Sun is in degree conjunction with Venus and Gulika. They are under the aspect of Jupiter which is retrograde and is himself under the bad aspect of retrograde Saturn. A retrograde benefic coming under the aspect of a retrograde malefic tend to loose its beneficence to some extent. So the aspect of Jupiter in this case is not very helpful. But then why the male native suffer from kidney failure but the female native got the decent health with some little digestive problems only?

In Rahu-Jupiter period in 2007 the male native had to undergo a kidney transplant operation. See how the Navamsha chart revel this contrast in their respective destinies. In the case of male native the 12^th house Cancer is rising in the Navamsha which is not very good. The bad houses 6,8 or 12^th rising in any Varga chart tend to give bad results related with the signification of that Varga. Here in case of male native the Cancer is rising in the Navamsha chart with dasha lords Rahu and Jupiter both coming under the bad effects of 8^th lord Saturn’s aspect there. So during Rahu-Jupiter the native had to undergo a life threatening surgery. The Rahu-Jupiter period from April 2007 to September 2009 was difficult for the health of male native.

On the contrary the female native got married during the Rahu-Jupiter dasha in year 2008. Notice here the Libra, which is the 3^rd house of Rashi chart, is rising as Navamsha of female native. Rahu the dasha lord is in the 7^th house of marriage in the Navamsha chart of female native. The Saturn here becomes the lord of 4^th and 5^th house in case of Libra Navamsha of female native. So the aspect of Saturn on the dasha lords Rahu and Jupiter is not bad here in the case of this female native . Also notice here the change in the position of the Navamsha sign of Moon in both cases. In case of female the Moon has join the 5^th and 4^th lord Saturn in the 5^th house of Navamsha which is making a good yoga for progeny. She became the mother of two kids; one born in 2012 (Rahu-Sautrn dasha) and the other in 2016 ( Rahu-Venus dasha). On the other hand the male native is still unable to get marry due to his bad health. In Rahu-Venus dasha in 2016 his kidney’s got failed again and at present he is on dialysis 3 times a day waiting for another transplant surgery to get some respite.

Dwadamsha chart or D-12 :

The Dwadamsha charts (D-12) of these two natives revel the difference in the status of their families. In the case of male horoscope the Dwadamsha chart has rising sign Capricorn with its lord Saturn giving aspect to the ascendant. The 2^nd house of Dwadamsha having Moon and Mercury under the aspect of Jupiter shows the fortune of his parents. The 9^th lord Mercury here is conjoined with 7^th lord Moon in a good Raja Yoga showing the high status of his father. The father of male native is a rich person having good monthly income from rent and micro-finance business. In Rashi chart, which is identical for both natives, the 9^th lord Mars and the 5^th lord Jupiter gives aspect to the 9^th house of father.

Now the case of female native with Aries sign rising in the Dwadamsha (D-12) is telling an entirely different story. Her father was an employee in Indian Railway who got trapped in a scam and was jailed during Rahu-Saturn dasha from July 2009 to May 2012. He is still having hard time in managing the financial affairs after loosing his job and reputation in the court case. Notice the position of Saturn in the Rashi and Dwadamsha charts in the case of female native. Saturn is the lord of 6^th house conjoined with the 9^th lord Mars in Rashi chart. In Dwadamsha it is debilitated 10^th and 11^th lord in Aries ascendant. For Aries chart Saturn is a functional malefic. Its sub period during the major period of Rahu gave this native mental trauma due to the defame of her father.

Chathurathamsha (Destiny and house) or D-4 :

As per the Sage Parashara the Chathurathamsha (D-4) signifies luck, landed property and home comfort. Here in the case to these two natives the planetary position of the Chathurathamsha chart is entirely different. In case of male native as many as 5 planets are falling in the 6^th and 8^th houses of the Chathurathamsha chart where the sign Scorpio is rising. Mars the lord of Chathurathamsha lagna is falling in the 6^th house along with 4^th lord Saturn denying him luck and comfortable living. He is struggling with a life threatening kidney aliment at that age when he should have been making a good career for himself. In the 8^th house of his Chathurathamsha the Jupiter, Venus and Sun are falling under the bad aspect of Saturn giving him a very uncomfortable living at home. He has to undergo dialysis 3 times in a day at his home due to his kidney illness.

Now see the Chathurathamsha chart of female native where Aquarius sign is rising with benefic Mercury placed in it under the auspicious aspect of Jupiter from the 5^th house. It gave her a comfortable living in abroad along with her husband and children. Here the disposition of planets are showing luck and happiness from home. The malefic Mars and Saturn are relegated into the 3^rd house and benefic planets are in the trine houses. The 4^th and 9^th lord Venus is with the 7^th lord Sun under the aspect of lagna and 12^th lord Jupiter showing her settlement in abroad. She went abroad with her husband in 2010 when she was passing through Rahu-Saturn dasha in her horoscope. Saturn as the lord of 12^th house in the 3^rd house of movement is giving aspect to the 9^th house and its lord showing foreign settlement during its sub-period.

Chathurvimshamsha or D-24 :

This divisional horoscope is to be seen for the education of a native. It has also been observed that the 5th house of the Navamsha chart also tells us about the inclination of the native to study a particular stream of education. Here in the above case the two natives has entirely different types of academic credentials. The male native has studied Msc. Bio Chemistry whereas the female native has done her MBA after the graduation in commerce. The male native has the very good professional skill of making paintings and he has earn some money from his hobby. The female native do not have such interest in artistic pursuits. Now to judge these facts astrologically we will have to see the Rashi, Navamsha and Chathuravimshamsha chart together and individually in both cases. Since Rashi chart is similar here so I will discuss the two concern divisional horoscope in more details.

In Rashi Chart the 5^th lord Jupiter retrograde in mutual aspect with Sun and Venus is receiving the aspect of retrograde Saturn is mainly showing the combinations for the study of science stream. In case of male native this combination gets additional backing in the Navamsha chart where the 5^th house receives the aspect of Saturn. In Chathuravimshamsha of male native the rising sign is Gemini with 5^th house having Mars a technical planet. The 5^th lord Venus here is in the sign of Mercury along with Sun, Saturn and Moon showing technical education. The influence of Saturn and Moon with the influence of Mars shows the education of Bio-Chemistry.

Now in the case of female native she studied commerce and did her MBA. Here the Navamsha and Chathuravimshamsha has combinations for the study of finance with the aspect of Jupiter on her 5^th house of education. In her Libra Navamsha chart the Jupiter aspect the 5^th house where Moon and Saturn are placed. In Chathuravimshasha there is a strong connection between 2^nd (finance), 5^th (education) and 7^th (business) houses/lord which is a combination to study commerce and management related studies. Here in the Chathuravimshamsha of female native rising sign is Sagittarius with Jupiter the Karaka for management giving aspect to the 5^th house of education. The 2^nd lord Saturn aspect the 7^th house of business. The 7^th lord Mercury is in the 2^nd house of finance. The 2^nd lord Mars aspect the 2^nd house and the 5^th house. Thus the connection between the 2nd house, 5^th house and the 7^th house in Chathuravimshamsha and the role of Jupiter (management) and Mercury ( commerce) gave her study of MBA.

Conclusion: The above case study is an example highlighting the paramount importance of divisional horoscopes to study the various aspects of a native’s life and to forecast how, when and in which direction the flow of ‘life force’ will take him/her during his life time. If we ignore the divisional horoscopes then the Rashi chart can merely depict the general trends of the life of a native which is sufficient to make predictions but it can not tell about his growth of consciousness and various other factors of his life in details. There are more than 7 billions people living on this planet out of these millions would have been sharing the identical horoscopes having similar Rashi chart like in the above case study. So if an astrologer is simply giving his predictions by looking at the Rashi chart only and not taking divisional horoscopes into considerations then he is giving fluke projections only by not properly studying the nativity on the astrological grounds suggested by Sage Parashara. An astrologer must also be well -versed with the techniques of birth time rectification in astrology.

The Enigma of Mercury-Ketu conjunction in a horoscope

In Hindu astrology Rahu and Ketu are not physical planets but they are mathematical points which are included among the 9 planets influencing the human affairs. As per Sage Parashara the Rahu-Ketu ( nodes) gives the results of the houses where they are placed, the planets in conjunction with them and the planets giving aspect to them. Almost all the commentaries of Bhriat Parashara Hora Shastra , except the Mumbai edition of Shri Khemraj Krishna Das, doesn’t mention about the aspects of Rahu-Ketu. Interestingly the classical Hindu text has also not discussed about the results of planets in conjunction with Rahu and Ketu. The Sage Parashara, Varahamihira, Kalyanvarma, Mantrashaver, Vaidyanath Dikshita , Venkatasha Sharma etc. have not given the results of Rahu-Ketu’s conjunction with other planets. However many modern astrologers have their own interpretation about the conjunction of planets with Rahu and Ketu.

My teacher Shri K.N. Rao use to make an interesting observation about the effects of Mercury-Ketu and Ketu-Mercury dashas during his classes. As per Shri K.N. Rao the Mercury-Ketu or Ketu-Mercury dasha may give humiliation and controversies . The dasha and anter dashas of closely associated Mercury-Ketu can bring extremely enigmatic changes in the life of a person. I have observed this in scores of horoscopes and find this rule working under certain conditions.

Mercury is the karaka of intelligence and Ketu is the karaka of intuition their close conjunction receiving the influence of malefic planets Mars, Saturn and Sun can give humiliation and serious setbacks in the life due to wrong decision making. During the anter dashas of Mercury or Ketu in the maha dasha of a malefic planet a person can also get cheated by his own friends and relatives.
The Mercury-Ketu under the aspect or conjunction of trine lords ( 5^thand 9^th lord) gives higher academic success which is envied by others. If such Mercury-Ketu conjunction take place in the 4,8 and 12 houses (Moksha Sathana) then it also inclined a person towards sublime spirituality. Shri K.N. Rao has his Mercury-Ketu conjoined in the twelfth house in Virgo sign along with Sun receiving the 10^th aspect of 5^th lord Saturn making him a great astrologer. Smt. Gyatri Devi Vasudev has Mercury-Ketu conjoined in Virgo in the 8^th house from her Aquarius ascendant receiving the aspect of Jupiter from the 12^th house giving her brilliance in astrology.
The aspect of a Jupiter on the Mercury-Ketu conjunction reduce its bad effects. Such person recover from the controversies with his intuitive decision making.
Mercury the karaka of mathematics, intelligence, languages and communication when comes along with Ketu, which signify fine technology, can make one very sharp and intelligent in latest technology and computers systems.

Now I will discuss some of the examples to astrologically explain the above mention points.

Case 1. Female

29 July 1970, 02:38 hours at Delhi

Longitude 77 E 13’ and Latitude 28 N 40’

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Moon 0 years 2 months 12 days

The first case I am taking here is of a lady who was doing her research (P.H.D) from Delhi University in 2002 on the subject of ‘drug addicts’ and she fell in love with a criminal eventually getting married with him. In her Mithuna lagna horoscope the 7^th lord Jupiter is in the 5^th house receiving the aspect of Mars and Saturn showing problems in relationship. She was under Jupiter-Mercury period from 10 June 2000 to 16 September 2002. It was during the first half of 2002 when she got attracted towards a drug addict while doing her research and married him under very controvercial circumstances against the concent of her family. Later she got discover that her husband was facing 3 criminal cases against him since last 10 years, one of them was of a murder. Later this lady’s family paid her husband a handsome amount in liew of giving her divorce on mutual concent. She got releived from the cluches of her husband during the Jupiter-Ketu in the end of year 2002 when divorce proceeding was finalized in the court.

Now see the close conjunction of Mercury and Ketu in the Nakshtra Magha. In Navamsha chart Mercury is in the 7^th house of marriage receiving the asepct of Mars and Sun. Ketu is in the Navamsha of Mercury receiving the aspect of malefic Saturn. The sub periods of Mercury and Ketu has to be bad for this lady.

Later she when to the USA for further study during her Jupiter-Venus dasha ( August 2003 to April 2006) and after coming back she fell in love with a boy 7 year younger than her age. She was very lucky this time as the boy was very honest, well educated and from a humble background. Her second marriage took place in June 2005 during Jupiter-Venus dasha. It was a big relief for her after getting humiliated in society because of a failed marriage with a drug addict earlier. Now she is happily settled in a foreign country in her second marriage.

Case 2. Male

29 June 1991 , 20:15 hours at Dibrugarh (Assam)

Longitude 94 E 54’ and Latitude 27 N 29’

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Moon 9 years 5 months 23 days

This is the horoscope of a commerce graduate who was working in financial sector company in Bangalore. Everything was fine in his career till he got the dasha of Rahu-Mercury from May 2015 to June 2018. His father got conned by his own relatives who indulge him in some economic offence by signing a contract of liqure company concealing the facts. He had to left his job in 2016 to comeback home and save his father from debts. In the mid of 2017 he went to Mumbai and then towards Bangkok for his job in a diamond merchant company. But he had to again come back home as he was having problems with his employers who didn’t paid him the remunirations promised by them earlier. He was also got duped by a friend who took a loan of more than 6 lakh’s from him and never returned. All this happen during the Rahu-Mercury period in Vimshottari. Mercury here is the lord of 6^th (court cases) and 9^th (father) houses along with Ketu and Sun the 8^th lord. His problems are compounding as the debts are increasing and he is jobless now. Notice here that Mercury and Ketu are devoid of any benefic aspect. They are also under the influences of malefic planets in Navamsha chart. Mercury receives the aspect of Saturn and Ketu receives the aspect of Mars in Navamsha chart. So no relief is expected until the Venus sub period comes in the maha dasha of Rahu which will be there in December 2019 only. Mercury and Ketu combination when come under the affliction of malefic planets gives cheating, losses and humiliation in life in very unexpected circumstances.

Case 3. Female

25 September 1949, 05:30 hours at Jallandhar (Punjab)

Longitude 75 E 34’ and Latitude 31 N 19’

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Rahu 8 years 9 months 20 days

This lady with Leo rising at the ascendant has Mercury-Ketu conjunction in the 2^nd house of finances and family. In her case she got the maha dasha of Mercury from July 1993 to July 2010 and of Ketu from July 2010 to July 2017. She made great fortune in her business of artificial jewellary and branded apparels during this period. See Mercury and Ketu here are strongly placed in Virgo sign along with the lagna lord Sun. They don’t have any blemish on them in the Rashi chart. In Navamsha Mercury and Ketu are conjoined and they are in mutual aspect with the 8^th lord Moon showing some controvercies. Her farm house was sealed in Delhi by authorities during Ketu-Mercury period in December 2016. The case is still going on in the Venus maha dasha which is along with 12^th lord Moon and receives the malefic aspects of 6^th lord Saturn placed in the ascendant, and also of Mars from the 12^th house of losses. Her Ketu maha dasha also gave her some property disputes with her younger sister. Although these problems didn’t trouble her much and she continued to make good money in her business. The astrological reason for this was the blemishless ‘Dhana Yoga’ of Sun and Mercury in the 2^nd house of Rashi chart. In Navamsha the aspect of Jupiter on the Mercury-Ketu conjunction was a protection.

Case 4. Female

3 November 1984, 07:59 hours at Delhi

Longitude 77 E 13’ and Latidue 28 N 40’

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Rahu 5 year 10 months and 8 days

In the Scorpio lagna horoscope of this young lady the Mercury-Ketu conjunction is taking placed in the ascendant along with 7^th and 12^th lord Venus. She got married on the 19^th of January 2013 during her Saturn-Ketu dasha ( May 2012 to July 2013) in Vimshottari. Her husband was from city outside Delhi and when she came there after marriage she was surprised to find that he was a patient of acute depression. She didn’t know about the mental illness of her husband as his family had cleaverly conceald this fact from her family. She left the home of her husband after few days and filed a court case for taking divorce. She got the divorce in year 2014 during her Saturn-Venus dasha. Now see in her case the Ketu-Mercury conjunction is taking place in malefic sign Scorpio. The 7^th lord Venus here shows the cheating releated with marriage. In Navamsha the maha dasha lord Saturn is the lord of 6^th ( court case) and 7^th (marriage) houses. The anter dasha lord Ketu is in the ascendant along with Jupiter which gave her some relief as she got the divorce very easily.

Case 5 Male

1 July 1956, 01:45 hours at Delhi

Longitude 77 E 13’ and Latitude 28 N 40’

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Saturn 10 years 0 months 2 days

This Aries lagna horoscope is of a high ranking government officer who is a commandant in a paramillitary force. On the 14^th of September 2014 when he was passing from his Sun-Mercury ( April 2014 to February 2015) dasha in Vimshottari he got arrested by the C.B.I while accepting some unlawful payments. He was landed in a jail and got suspended from his job. Now see the Ketu-Mercury conjunction in the 2^nd house of finance receiving the aspect of 8^th lord Mars from the 11^th house and also of the 11^th lord Saturn from the 8^th house of scandel. His troubles continued during the Sun-Ketu dasha and he got relief only during the Sun-Venus dasha which started in July 2015. He was reinstated in his job after getting clearence from the court cases. The aspect of Jupiter on his ascendant and Navamsha was a saving grace. Jupiter her is also giving his benefic aspect to the 10^th house from Moon. The anter dasha lord Venus was excellent in Rashi and Navamsha chart which saved his job. Though he was humiliated badly during his sub periods of Mercury and Ketu , the experience of which still haunt him emotionally.

Case 6. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

13 May 1956, 23:54 hours at Papanasam (Tamil Nadu)

Longitude 79 E 17’ and Latitude 10 N 56’

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Rahu 8 years 9 months 18 days

In the Makar lagna horoscope of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar a close conjunction of Mercury and Ketu is taking placed in the 5^th house in mutual aspect with a retrograde Saturn. It was no surprise that during Mercury-Saturn ( June 2014 to March 2017) period a world famous religious precher (Guru) like him came under controvercies. Both Mercury and Ketu here don’t have any protection of the benefic aspect or association of Jupiter. In this case the Jupiter aspect the 10^th house from Moon though which is a saving grace. His organization Art of Living’s ‘world cultural festival’ in March 2016 came under difficulties when the NGT (National Green Tribunal) opposed it for the environmental damanges being caused to the Yamuna floodplains. The event could only happened when the Art of Living paid the inerim fine of Rs. 5 crore imposed by the NGT.

According to the report of the expert committee of NGT the 170 hectares ( about 420 acres) of Yamuna floodplains was adversely impacted ecologically because of the construction work before and after the 3 day’s ‘world cultural festival’ of Art of Living in March 2016. An expert committee later recommended that total cost to fix the destruction would be Rs. 42 crores and it will take at least 10 years period for the same. The matter is in the Supreme Court of India at present when Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is passing through his Ketu maha dasha. The Ketu is Vargottama in the sign of Venus. The period of Ketu-Venus ( from July 2017 to September 2018), Ketu-Sun ( September 2018 to February 2019) and Ketu-Moon ( February 2019 to September 2019) are likely to be difficult for him. Venus is in 6^th house of court cases along with 7^th lord Moon which is in Mrityubhagh. Sun is the lord of 8^th house who’s anter dasha in the maha dasha of Ketu is not likely to give him relief from controvercies. The apex court may giving a strong decision against his organization in this case in the next 2 years.

Case 7. Narendra Modi

17 September 1950, 12:12 hours at Mehsana (Gujarat)

Longitude 72 E 24’ and Latitude 23 N 36’

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Saturn 10 years 2 months 2 days

In the horoscope of Prime Minister Narendar Modi the Mercury-Ketu conjunction is taking place in sign Virgo. Mercury is retrograde and combust here in the Vrischik lagna horoscope. It was no surprise that he suffered from poverty during the dasha of Saturn till November 1960 and later during Mercury from November 1960 to November 1977. The Saturn and Mercury are functional malefics for Scorpio lagna. Had it been Libra lagna, as some astrologers are of the opinion, he would have been born in some rich family. Had Modi’s horoscope been of Libra lagna then the 7^th lord Mars along with 10^th lord Moon would not have created such secreacy and seperation in his marriage.

In the Scorpio lagna horoscope the Rahu in the 5^th house receiving the aspect of Sun and Mercury is a combination of denial of children. The aspect of Sun on the 5^th house gave him the study of political science and the aspect of 8^th lord Mercury shows the controvercy sorrounding his education degrees.

Ascendancy as Gujarat Chief Minister and roits controvercy

In a surprise move by the BJP Narendra Modi was given the responsibility of the chief minister of Gujarat in year 2001. He recplaced senior leader Keshubhai Patel and took oath of the office on the 7^th of October 2001 when he was passing through his Venus-Mercury period in Vimshottari. Mercury the 11^th lord here gave him elevation in his political career. But Mercury has to put him under controvercies due to its conjunction with Ketu and affliction in the Navamsha chart. The Gujarat riots in February-March 2002 gave a setback to his image. Then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was about to sack him but Modi was saved by Lal Krishna Advani who was homeminister at that time. Modi has to face an inquiry later by the SIT ( Special Investigating Team) formed by the Supreme Court of India when Congress came into power in 2004. Almost after one decade of this incident he was found innocent due to lack of evidences proving his role in the mismanagement of administration during riots. Later he set the national political scene on fire during his great victory in the general elections in 2014 when his Moon-Jupiter dasha was running.

At present prime minister Modi is running under Moon-Mercury period from September 2016 to February 2018. He is feeling the pressure on the criticizm of his governments poorly managed demonitization scheme in 2016 and GST affairs during the second half of 2017. Almost 99% of cash banned during the demonitization came back into the banks. The process gave a setback to the economy due to the lack of currency in the market for a long period of time. The private investments were down, millions of jobs were lost and purchasing power of people was reduced.

Later the higher rates of taxes in the GST (Goods and Services Tax) and the glitches in filling the returns made the miseries of traders worst. The growth rate of GDP was only 5.7% for the qurter from April to June in 2017 which was the lowest in the last 3 years. The problems for Modi are likely to compound with some more controvercies during his Moon-Ketu peroid from February 2018 to September 2018.
