In an interesting development Siddaramaiah took oath of the Karnataka chief minister on the 20th of May  after Congress emerged victorious in the Karnataka assembly elections. In my article ‘Karnataka Elections 2023- Astrological analysis’ published in the April 2023 issue of the Modern Astrology Magazine i had forecast a clear victory for Congress party. The article was received by the editor on 30th of January which was about three and half  months before voting took place. Later at this blog and also on the Navbharat Times dot com Hindi New Portal website the same prediction of Congress Party’s victory in Karnataka assembly polls was published. Since we don’t have the birth details of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah so in this post we will make a study of his oath taking chart only to see the future prospects of his state government. Siddaramaiah has taken oath of his office when ‘Siddha’ Yoga was operating on Saturday.

Planets and Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023

In the oath taking horoscope of Siddaramaiah Moon is in Taurus sign in Rohini Nakshatra. We can’t check the ‘Chandra Shuddhi’ and ‘Tara Shuddhi’ for the reason that Mr. Siddaramaiah himself don’t know his correct date of birth though as per his school records it was 3rd of August  1947.

Interesting thing in this Leo lagna oath taking horoscope of Siddaramaiah is the presence of 7th lord Saturn in the 7th house with  ‘Diga Bala'(directional strength).  The lagna lord Sun is also getting directional strength (Dig Bala) at the 10th house but it is in its enemy sign Taurus and is conjoined with Gulika at the same degrees. The 7th lord Saturn is in own Navamsha while the  Sun as the lagna lord is in its enemy Navamsha. So the 7th house signifying opposition is very strong in this chart. Although the main opposition party BJP could manage to get only 66 seats as against Congress Party’s 135 seat’s but the vote share of BJP is also the same as it was in last election in 2018. BJP has got 36% votes which is enough to keep the ruling Congress party on its toes.

The aspect of debilitated Mars from the 12th house on the 7th also indicate a hostile opposition. The role of center’s agencies like CBI , ED and Income Tax will come into play soon in this case as this oath taking chart of Karnataka CM suggest.

Siddaramaiah will fulfill his electoral promises

In the oath taking horoscope the the lagna lord Sun is in the 10th house along with Moon which is in its ‘Moola Trikona’ Rashi. Then both Sun and Moon are in ‘Shubh Kartari’ Yoga which is very rare to see in swearing-in horoscopes. The 10th house  here is involve in very good yoga’s and the lord of 10th house is in the 11th house of gains while the 11th lord is in the 9th house of ethical conduct. So Siddaramaiah is likely to fulfill most of his electoral promises and his personal image will remain  clean only. In Navamsha we have benefic Venus in the 10th house and in Dashamsha of the oath taking, which is not given here, we have Mercury in the 10th house. So the 10th house of governance  has effect of benefic planets in Rashi, Navamsha and Dashamasha which is very good.

Siddaramaiah is likely to fulfill his poll promises of giving freebies like 10 kg free rice to every below poverty line (BPL) family, Rs. 2000/- per month allowance to women head of family, 200 unites of free electricity every month to all households, free bus travel for women’s  and Rs. 3000/- per month allowance to all graduates and Rs. 1500/- for under graduate unemployed for 2 years etc. The five point guarantee of Siddaramaiah will cost state exchequer a whopping Rs 50000 Crore which will create an issue in the debt to GDP ration of the state which is at present under check but can be a bit wobbly in future.

D.K. Shivakumar Can become Chief Minister after 2.5 years

In the Leo lagna oath taking horoscope of Siddaramaiah when the transiting Saturn would reach into Pisces in March 2025 it will aspect the 10th house Taurus and also Sun-Gulika combination placed there. The Vimshottari Dasha of Moon and Anter Dasha of Saturn  would be running (October  2025 to June 2027) would be running in the oath taking chart at that time. Moon is in the lord of 12th house and Saturn as the 6th and 7th lord both shows a change in the seat of chief minister due to his old age or illness.

Horoscope of D.K. Shivakumar

D.K. Shivakumar is at present deputy chief minister of Karnataka state and also the state Congress President. In September 2019 when D.K. Shivakumar was arrested by ED (Enforcement Director Office) and there was a danger to his political career, i had then written a long article on his horoscope and forecasted a successful career for him. In my article D.K. Shivakumar’s Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga- Will it save his political future ?  posted on 5th of September 2019 i had made a prediction of his successful and long political career in years ahead. He had got arrested in first week of September 2019 when in Vimshottari Saturn-Mercury-Rahu period was running from 20 July 2019 to 15 December 2019. Mercury as the lord of 3rd and 6th house trapped him in court cases. But since the aspect of 9th lord Jupiter was on Mercury, which was also in conjunction with 5th lord Sun and 4th lord Moon involve in a Raja Yoga, so i had forecasted his early release after getting a bail from apex court. He got released after 50 days when he got bail from Delhi High Court in money laundering case in the last week of October 2019.

D.K. Shivakumar has went into jail and also get the bail during the sub-sub period of Rahu in the 5th house in the anter dasha of Mercury and maha dasha of Saturn. For Aries lagna native both Saturn and Mercury are functional malefices. Interestingly he won assembly election and become deputy chief minister in Saturn-Venus-Rahu period (25 December 2022 to 16 June 2023). Again Rahu was playing a major role in his political career. In my article ‘Planets and Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023’ , I had discuss his chart and forecasted a ministerial role in new government on the basis that from his sub-sub period lord Rahu the 10th house having the conjunction of Sun, Moon and Mercury is very strong.

D.K. Shivakumar may face troubles from court cases

Now during Saturn-Venus-Saturn period in Vimshottari from 17 November 2023 to 19 May 2024 D.K. Shivakumar is likely to face troubles from court cases. Saturn is a functional malefic in his chart while sub period lord Venus is ‘Maraka’ (killer) and is in ‘Sarpa Dreshkkan’ which is dangerous in the matters of court cases. After completing the age of 62 his annual horoscope has Pisces lagna rising with ‘Muntha’ in the 4th house along with 8th lord Venus indicating the revival of some court cases. But he will get relief from these matters in Saturn Dasha and Sun Bhukti from January 2025 to December 2025 which will paved his way to become the chief minister of the state sometimes in year 2026.

In the Cancer lagna horoscope of Karnataka State the 10th house of governance has at presence been under joint influence of both Saturn and Jupiter in transit. The transiting Saturn from Aquarius is over the 10th lord Mars and it also aspect the 10th house from its 3rd aspect. The transiting Jupiter is in Aries at the 10th house. So the double transit phenomena clearly shows the change in government after the recent election and it also indicate a major change in the government policies. Mercury Dasha and Venus Anter Dasha is from February 2022 to December 2024. Mercury as the 3rd lord is in exchange of houses with 4th lord Venus which is a yoga for border disputes with neighboring states. Karnataka  has long standing border disputes with Maharashtra over the Belagavi, Karwar and Nipani district in North Karnataka. The matter of border dispute can go to Supreme Court of India and will get resolve only in Mercury Dasha and Moon Anter Dasha from October 2025 to March 2027. Moon as the lagna lord is in conjunction with benefic 9th lord Jupiter and also get the aspect of 5th lord Mars from the 8th house. In next 5 years Karnataka state will prosper at rapid speed and will leave behind Gujarat in terms of GDP (gross domestic product).

Karnataka Assembly elections are schedule to be held before 24th  of May this year as the legislative assembly of the state is completing its present term by then. The three major parties of the state are BJP, Congress and JDS (Janata Dal Secular) who would be contesting for the 224 members legislative assembly seats. In the last assembly polls in 2018 BJP had won 104 seat, the highest, but failed to get the majority of its own. So the Congress (80 seats) and JDS (37 seats) joined hand together and formed a strange coalition in which junior party JDS got the chair of chief minister. However, the H.D. Kumaraswamy government fall in May 2019 and later BJP’s B.S. Yediyurappa took the oath of office. Later on, 28 July 2021 Basavraj Bommai succeeded Yediyurappa as the chief minister of the state. However, the recent trends suggest Basavraj Bommai is not as popular as former chief minister Yediyurappa who at the age of 80 is the main spearhead of the party in state. In the above background let’s study the horoscopes of Basavraj Bommai, Yediyurappa, Kumaraswamy and D.K. Shivkumar to see the prospects of three major parties in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections 2023.

Basavraj Bommai : Born  January 28, 1960 at 12 h. 06 m. (IST) at Hubli, Karnataka (75 E 10’, 15 N 21’) with a balance of 6 years 9 months 22 days of Moon Dasha at birth.

 

The Aries lagna horoscope given above is of the current Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai. As per Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra the conjunction or opposition of Sun and Moon is the best possible Raja Yoga for the native’s born in Aries ascendant. This yoga is present in the chart of  Mr. Bommai. Sun as the 5th lord is in conjunction with 4th lord Moon in the 10th house of power is making a grand Raja Yoga. Then notice the concentration of planets in the 9th house of father. His father late Shri S.R. Bommai  was 11^th chief minister of Karnataka (13 August 1988 to 21^st of April 1989) who is widely remember as the champion for the landmark judgement of supreme court on at the provisions of Article 356 of the constitution.

Planets across Rahu-Ketu axis

Interesting thing to note in his horoscope is the position of all the planets across one side of Rahu-Ketu (nodes) axis. Many astrologers read it as the dreaded ‘Kaal-Sarpa Yoga’ which don’t have any mention in classical texts of Hindu astrology. Had the so called ‘Kaal-Sarpa-Yoga’ been so bad then he would not have become the chief minister of big state like Karnataka.

Basavraj Bommai was minister in BJP state government in Karnataka during 2008 to 2013 when he was passing through the Maha Dasha of Saturn. In birth chart Saturn is in conjunction with lagna lord Mars and 9th lord Jupiter in the 9th house of luck. In Navamsha Saturn is in conjunction with Yogakaraka Mars. In Dashamsha Saturn is in mutual aspect with 5th lord Jupiter.

Basavraj Bommai become the chief minister of Karnataka on 28^th of July 2021 in his Saturn Dasa and Rahu Anter Dasha. Saturn is in 9^th house as the lord of 10^th house of power enjoying the company of two natural benefic Venus and Jupiter. The Anter Dasha lord Rahu is in 6^th house and its depositor Mercury is in the 10^th house of power along with Raja Yoga giver planets the  4^th and  the 5^th lords joining him. However, from the Moon his Dasha lord Saturn falls in the 12^th house which is not good. In transit Saturn is getting only 25 points in Sarvashtaka Varga in sign Aquarius.

Difficult Dasha of Saturn-Rahu for Basavraj Bommai

The Dasha and Anter Dasha of Saturn-Rahu or Rahu-Saturn tend to give troubles from enemies is a well-known ‘Dasha rule’ of Sage Parashara. The sub-sub period  of Ketu is running at present from 2^nd March to 2^nd May just during the time of assembly polls . Ketu is in the 12^th house of losses along with Gulika is highly unfavorable.  Thus, Dasha period and transit is not favorable for chief minister Basavraj Bommai at present.

Unfavorable Chara Dasa

In Jaimini Chara Dasa system Pisces Dasha and Capricorn Anter Dasha  is running from 29^th of April   to 29^th of July this year.  Pisces is the 12^th house of losses though Amatayakaraka Mars is in the 10^th house from it along with some other planets. But from Anter Dasha Sign  Capricorn these important planets falls in the 12^th house showing a major loss in position for Basavraj Bommai who is likely to face a defeat in the elections. Since both Vimshottari and Chara Dasa is unfavorable so it is highly likely that BJP may receive a major defeat in Karnataka assembly polls and may event dump Basavraj Bommai after the elections get concluded.

B.S. Yediyurappa: Born February 27, 1943 at 03 h. 00 m. at Mandya, Karnataka (76 E 53’, 12 N 31’) with a balance of 0 years 9 months 15 days of Jupiter Dasha at birth.

At the age of 80 years B.S. Yediyurappa is the strongest leader of BJP in Karnataka state. During his chief minister years he did lots of work for the farmers but was also charges for corruption and went to jail for some period. He become chief minister for four times but never completed his tenure. He also become leader of opposition three times. He is the only leader in South India from the BJP who has achieve such feats.

In his Sagittarius lagna chart 5^th lord Mars is in the ascendant in mutual aspect with lagna lord Jupiter is making a good Raja Yoga. As per Jaimini system Atamakaraka is Mars which being in dual sign aspect Amatayakaraka making a great Raja yoga but Ganatikaraka Venus aspect these ‘karaka’s thus he has not been able to enjoy power for the long duration. Moreover, the mutual opposition of Jupiter and Mars across the 1/7 axis makes classical ‘Unmaad Yoga’ which has kept him unsettle on the chair of chief minister position. In Moon Dasha, which started in December 2012, had had formed his own party but failed to get any success so he came back to the BJP again.

Favorable Mars Dasha for Yediyurappa

The Dasha of Vargottama Mars was started in his chart on 14^th of December 2022. The Anter Dasha  of Mars is running in Mars Dasha till 12^th of May which is unlikely to give him any major success as it is a cardinal rule of Laghu Parashari that a planet generally don’t give its full results in its own Dasha-Anter Dasha.

It is during Mars Dasha and Rahu Anter Dasha  from 12nd of May 2023 to 30^th of May 2024 Yediyurapp can get some important position like upper house (Rajya Sabha) membership or some prominent role in his party BJP. Rahu is in the 9^th house from lagna and 10^th from Moon is getting the aspect of its sign lord Sun. In Dashmasha  Rahu is strongly placed in the 9^th house while in Navamsha  it is well placed in the lagna along with 10th lord Saturn and 9th lord Jupiter.

Also notice the transit of Saturn from the 4th house of Yediyurappa is a ‘Kantaka-Shani’ Gochar which is not favorable. The transiting Saturn from Aquarius is hovering over his natal Sun and Ketu shows some health concern’s also. In Sarvashtakavarga Aquarius has only 23 points which are not desirable. In Bhinnashtaka of Saturn Aquarius gets 4 points which are good.

Unfavorable Jaimini Chara Dasha for Yediyurappa

In Jaimini Chara Dasha  the Dasha of Capricorn and Anter Dasha  of Scorpio is running from October 2022 to June 2023 in Yediyurapp’s horoscope. From Capricorn Atamakaraka Mars falls in the 12^th getting the aspect of Amatayakaraka Jupiter is not favorable for him during the upcoming Karnataka elections. So Yediyurappa will not be able to get much success in these assembly elections.

Controversy regarding ‘Siddaramaiah Horoscope’ 

The correct birth details of former congress chief minister Siddaramaiah is not available as per a new repot published in Hindu News Paper on 11 August 2021. {Refer link: https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/karnataka/when-was-siddaramaiah-born/article35865636.ece }

“Speaking to reporters in Mysore , Mr. Siddaramaiah said the date of birth in his academic records was entered by the teacher of the school to which he was taken by his father for admission in the fifth standard in 1957.

“My father and mother were unlettered so they did not write down my date of birth. When my father told the teacher that he did not know my date of birth, he entered it as August 3, 1947 in the school records”, Mr. Siddaramaiah said.

However, he said his followers and friends convey him birthday greetings on August 12 every year. “As I am in Mysuru a day earlier, they have come to greet me here.”

 H.D. Kumaraswamy : Born December 16, 1959 at  18 h. 08 m. (IST)  at Hassan, Karnataka (76 E 05’, 13 N 00’) with a Balance of  6 years 9 months and 11 days of Rahu Dasha at birth.

In the Gemini lagna horoscope of H.D. Kumaraswamy the striking feature is the placement of Mercury, Mars and Jupiter in the 6^th house. The 6^th house is 10^th from the 9^th house of father. His father Shri H.D. Deve Gowda  was the former prime minister of India for a brief period from 1 June 1996 to 21 April 1997. Kumaraswamy  has remain chief minister of Karnataka for a short period only on two occasions; 2006-07 and 2018-19. There is no benefic planet in Kendra except the waxing Moon in the lagan. There has been a controversy about the status of his second marriage which we can see from the 7th house of his birth chart.

At present he is under Ketu Dasha and Jupiter Anter Dasha from 15 September 2022 to 22 August 2023. The sub-sub period  of Sun would be running from 27 April 2023 to 14 May 2023 . His Dasha lord Ketu is in the 10^th house of career in Rashi chart but it goes into the 8^th house of his Dashamsha chart which is not much helpful. The Anter Dasha lord Jupiter is in the 6th house of birth chart and in Navamsha it is deblieated. In transit Saturn is moving from Aquarius with just 24 points in Sarvashtaka Varga and 1 point in its own Bhinnashtaka. But Jupiter will be in Aries, at the time of elections, with 35 points in Sarvashtaka Varga which shows satisfactory performance from his party.

Favorable Chara Dasha of Kumaraswamy

.In the Jaimini Chara Dasha scheme the Dasha of Leo and Anter Dasha  of Sagittarius is running from December 2022 to August 2023. Leo is getting the Jaimini aspect of his Amatayakaraka Venus which is in the 11^th house from Anter Dasha  sign Sagittarius. The favorable placement of Amatayakaraka Venus from both Dasha and Anter Dasha Rashi is good for Kumaraswamy and his party. But the 10th Pada falls in Cancer which is the 12th house from Dasha Rashi Leo and 8th house from Anter Dasha Rashi Sagittarius so it may give some dent to his public image. So, although Vimshottari Dasha of Kumaraswamy is not very favorable but a good Jaimini Chara Dasha indicates that his party’s performance in the polls will be satisfactory.

 

D.K. Shiv Kumar: Born May 15,  1961 at  05 h. 15 m. (IST)  at  Kanakpur, Karnataka (77E 25’, 12N 33’) with a Balance of  2 years 8 months 0 days Sun Dasa at birth.

D.K. Shiv Kumar is presently serving as the president of the state congress committee in Karnataka. If Congress has to come back into power in the state then there must be good dasha period in his birth chart. He is one of the contender to become the chief minister or deputy chief minister if the Congress win’s this assembly elections. In his Aries lagna birth chart Raja Yoga of 4^th lord Moon along with 5^th lord Sun in the 2^nd house of wealth explains his status as one of the richest politicians in India who has declared wealth of rupees 840 crores (8400 millions)  in his election affidavit in year 2018.

He has held the important posts in the Siddaramaiah (2013 to 2018) and Kumaraswamy (2018 to 2019) governments but was reported to have conflicts with them. In his birth chart both Saturn and Mars aspect the 7th house which make him a dominating personality.

Enigmatic Saturn-Venus Dasha for D.K. Shiv Kumar

In his birth chart lagna lord Mars is in the 4^th house in mutual aspect with 10^th lord Saturn and 9^th lord Jupiter is another major Raja Yoga. In Saturn Dasha and Mercury Anter Dasha  he was arrested on 3^rd of September 2019 on the charges of money laundering and income tax invasion. At present he is under a favorable period of Saturn Dasha and Venus Anter Dasha from November 2021 to January 2025.

Venus as the 2^nd and 7^th lord is exalted in the 12^th house in Rashi chart. Most important thing is that Venus is the lord of his Dasmasha lagna and is strongly placed in the 9^th house of his Dasmasha chart. It has been observed that the Dasha or Anter Dasha of a planet which is the lord of Dasmasha lagna can give very good rise in one’s career. The favorable sub-sub period  of Sun at the time of elections results in May can give him a post of minister in the new government in Karnataka. In Sarvashtaka Varga the transiting Saturn from Aquarius gets 31 points which is good. In Bhinnashtaka Varga Saturn gets very good 4 points in Aquarius sign which can give him tremendous gains.

 

Favorable Jaimini Chara Dasa

In Jaimini Chara Dasa the period of Pisces is running from 15th of May 2021 to l 15^th of May 2023.  Here the Amatayakaraka Mercury is giving its Jaimini aspect to the sign Capricorn which is the 11^th house of gains from Dasha Rashi Pisces. Later the period of Aries starts from where the Amatayakaraka Mercury is in the 2^nd house and aspect the 10^th house which shows a very high position for him. Under his leadership Congress party can get full majority in the upcoming assembly polls in Karnataka. D.K. Shiv Kumar is likely to become a powerful minister in the next Congress government in Karnataka. So it is Congress Party which is likely to form the next government in Karnataka State after the assembly polls in May month.
