After a major solar eclipse on 26 December 2019, the corona virus took the form of an epidemic spreading from China to the entire world. The global economy was also hit by a major economic recession due to this epidemic that took millions of lives across the globe  in the last two and a half years. Now that the data of ‘Goods and Services Tax’ in the Indian economy is indicating the recovery of the economy from recession this year, then some experts are expressing the fear of an impending  crisis due to the fourth wave of corona epidemic. If we study the situation  from astrological point of view then Jupiter (Guru)  and Ketu (South Node)  are the significant of living beings i.e. Jeeva. The mutual conjunction or opposition of Jupiter and Ketu  along with some other major planets afflicting them, especially Saturn and Mars, makes the Yoga  for a  viruses  diseases i.e. epidemics giving death by fever in large numbers, such is the statement of ‘Bhadrabahu Samhita’.

Solar Eclipse of 26 December 2019 in Moola Nakshatra of Ketu

The above mention astrological combination was present at the time of Solar eclipse of 26 December 2019. At that time time when Jupiter and Ketu were in conjunction with the planets Saturn, Sun etc., then the corona virus started taking the form of an epidemic. Later, after March 2020, Jupiter’s conjunction with Saturn and Mars bring in the first wave of corona in India and  the economy came to a deep contraction due to a strictly imposed lock down then.  Just last year in March 2021, when Mars conjoined Rahu in Taurus then the second wave of corona was generated , which created a ruckus in India between April and June when countless lives were lost due to sheer negligence of the governments. In May 2021, Sun, Venus and Mercury were in transit with Rahu which caused the virus that had brought the wrath of unforgettable tragedies for India.

Corona’s third wave was weak, will the fourth wave come?

At the end of the year 2021, in the month of December, Mars was transiting in Scorpio sign and was giving aspect  to Rahu sitting in Taurus sign with Ketu, then the third wave of corona in India by ‘Omicron’ variant knocked in but it was weak because by  that  time Jupiter had left Capricorn and entered Aquarius, due to which his conjunction with Saturn had ended. At present, Jupiter is transiting in Pisces and Rahu is moving in Aries in transit . Amidst the fears of the fourth wave of corona, there are signs of increase of virus infection in some places, but from the astrological point of view, due to the absence of any other big planet transiting  in the axis of  Rahu-Ketu, there is no chance of a fourth wave of this pandemic in India.

Corona cases will increase in July-August, but the fourth wave will not come

In the first week of July this year, Mars will enter Aries and make a conjunction with Rahu. Mars will remain in Aries for 45 days, during that period from July to mid-August, major cities of India like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore etc. will experience the rise in corona virus cases. There will be some increase in the cases of corona infections, but since at that time the ‘Jiva Karaka’ Jupiter will not be associated with any major planet in Pisces, so the situation of corona epidemic will be under control and the chances of fourth wave will be negligible in India.

As the cases of covid-19 are rapidly growing around us in India we have seen many people having mild symptoms only while some have suffered from this influenza at very serious levels. As per the official website of WHO the ‘coronavirus disease (covid-19) is an infectious disease which gives mild to moderate respiratory illness to the people infected from it. Most of the people recover from it without requiring special treatment. But older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease and cancer are more likely to develop serious illnesses’.  I started collecting the horoscopes of coronavirus patients since March 2020  and by the end of September 2020  I was able to study more than 60 such cases. Based on my study I was able to formulate following parameters which I have observed in the horoscopes of people suffering from coronavirus.

• The Dasa, Bhukti or Antra of Rahu or Ketu was mostly found in the horoscopes of people suffering from covid-19. In some cases it was seen that Dasa, Bhukti or Antra of planets in conjunction with Rahu or Ketu or planets in the Nakshatra of Rahu or Ketu was also running at the time when this disease was detected.
• In serious cases of covid-19 the native were also found to be running under the influences of ‘Dusthana lords’ (6^th, 8^th or 12^th houses lords) apart from the Rahu-Ketu dasa periods.
• Special role of affliction to the lagna, Sun or Moon with Rahu-Ketu were also found in many cases. In some cases where chest infection was severe the fourth house from the lagna and Moon was found to be afflicted by hard malefic planets.

Role of Rahu-Ketu in the horoscope of Corona Virus Patients 

Now I will give some practical examples so that the readers would be able to understand how the above mentioned astrological parameters were applied on the horoscopes of covid-19 patients for giving astrological forecasts. In all the horoscopes given in this article Chitra Paksha or Lahiri Ayanamsa has been used.

Twin Brothers infected with COVID-19

The first case I am taking is of twin brothers from Calcutta who were admitted to the hospital in the last week of June because of serious infection of coronavirus. Their father was died just  few days ago and mother was also ill due to coronavirus infection.

Chart 1. Elder Twin

         25 June 1977, 03:45 hours at Calcutta, West Bengal

         Longitude: 88 E 22’ and Latitude: 22 N 34’

Balance of Dasa in Vimshottari: Moon 6 years 5 months 15 days

The elder twin has to be admitted into the ICU in the last week of June when he was under Jupiter-Moon-Rahu in Vimshottari which ran from 18 June 2020 to 30 August 2020. In his Taurus lagna chart the  Jupiter is the lord of 8^th house and Bhukti lord Moon is taking the lordship of 3^rd house. The 8^th house is the 12^th from the 9^th house of father. The 3^rd house is the 7^th (a Maraka house) from the 9^th house of father. He had just lost his father in the first week of June due to covid-19. Now he was admitted into the hospital along with his younger twin brother and also mother both of them suffering from coronavirus disease. See the Bhukti lord Moon is in conjunction with Rahu fulfilling the first astrological parameter for coronavirus infection. Sun in his chart is in Ardra a Nakshatra ruled by Rahu. The lagna is un-afflicted as Jupiter is strongly posted in it giving protection. He was on the ventilator on the 5^th of July  in a critical condition when this horoscope was given to me.

The Antra lord Rahu is with 3^rd lord Moon receiving the aspect of Saturn which is Yogakaraka for Taurus lagna was giving hope under grim circumstances. In Navamsa the Dasa lord Jupiter, Bhukti lord Moon and Antra lord Rahu were strongly placed  so a forecast was given that he will recover soon which later came true.

Chart 2. Younger Twin

             25 June 1977, 04:12 hours at Calcutta, West Bengal

Longitude: 88 E 22’ and Latitude: 22 N 34’

Balance of Dasa in Vimshottari: Moon 6 years 3 months 6 days

The younger twin was also hospitalized in the last week of June but his condition was stable. He didn’t required to be put under intensive care unit (ICU) and recovered earlier than his elder twin brother. He was under Jupiter-Moon-Jupiter period in Vimshottari from 21 June 2020 to 25 August 2020. Now notice here that both the twin brother were under Jupiter Dasa and Moon Bhukti while the Antra was difference due to the time interval they had in their birth timings. The younger twin was under Jupiter Antra in the last week of June while the elder twin was under Rahu Antra during the same time period which gave him coronavirus infection at much more serious note. This is an example how good the calculations of Vimshottari dasa works while using Lahiri Ayanamsa. We can work at the level of Antra and even Sookshma Dasa while using Lahiri Ayanamsa on horoscopes.

Chart 3. An asymptomatic corona case of CEO

            7 May 1974, 18:43 hours at Deoria, UP

            Longitude: 83 E 47’ and Latitude: 26 N 30’

Balance of Dasa in Vimshottari: Saturn 13 years 7 months and 19 days

This Libra lagna horoscope given here is of a CEO of big fashion brand in India. He got infected with corona virus in the first week of September when he was passing through Venus-Rahu-Mercury-Moon (from 26 August 2020 to 8 September 2020). He rang me up on the 7^th of September and told me that one employee in his office was tested positive for COVID-19 so the whole staff had now given their samples for the test. He asked me what you think about the result. I told him that since you are under the Bhukti of Rahu so there are chances for you to get tested positive but yours will be an asymptomatic case with mild infections only. I explained to him that your lagna, lagna lord and Sun are very strong but it is only Moon which is afflicted in Rahu-Ketu axis. The Sookshma Dasa was of Moon till 8^th of September when the result came and he was asked by the health officers to stay quarantine for 15 days. I again reassured him that he will recover soon as his Dasa of Venus-Rahu-Mercury is not alarming as the Antra lord Mercury is the lord of 9^th house and is not afflicted by hard malefic planets in Rasi and Navamsa. He got his second COVID-19 test done after 7 days which came negative and thus authorities allowed him to go outside for his work.

Chart 4. A child specialist doctor infected with corona

             16 August 1980, 03:00 hours at Sri Nagar, Jammu & Kashmir

Longitude: 74 E 48’ and Latitude: 34 N 05’

Balance of Dasa in Vimshottari: Mars 5 years 6 months 2 days

This Gemini lagna horoscope is of a young child specialist doctor who works in the top private hospital in Delhi. He got admitted to his hospital where he works in the second week of September when he was passing through Saturn-Saturn-Mercury in Vimshottari (10 August 2020 to 13 January 2021). It was the Sookshma Dasa of Venus then. Saturn-Saturn-Mercury-Venus from 10^th of September 2020 to 6^th of October 2020 when he had to remain in the hospital due to chest infection and pneumonia after getting COVID-19 positive. It is an example of a serious case of coronavirus infection. Notice here the close degree conjunction of Sun with Rahu. The lagna and Mars are in Mrityu Bhagn degrees which are also dangerous. Mars as the 6^th lord is conjoined with 8^th lord Saturn and Moon which signify lungs. They are in the 4^th house which is most dangerous for a covid-19 patients as it can give him a severe chest infection. He had to spend 30 days in the hospital during his Saturn-Saturn-Mercury-Venus Dasa in Vimshottari.

Saturn as the 8^th lord aspect the Janma lagna which is in Mrityu Bhagh degrees. The Antra lord Mercury as the lagna lord is in conjunction with Rahu which as per our parameters gives infections. The Sookshma Dasa lord Venus is in Ardra Nakshatra which is ruled by Rahu. In Navamsha Venus is along with Rahu. It is only after one month he was able to recover from the serious chest infection due to COVID-19.

Chart 5. An Air India officer infected from corona

            21 February 1967, 22:32 hours at Delhi

            Longitude: 77 E 13’ and Latitude: 28 N 40’

Balance of Dasa in Vimshottari: Jupiter 6 years 8 months 13 days

This Libra lagna horoscope given here is of a high ranking officer working in Air India. He was tested positive for COVID-19 on the 30^th of July and was recovered on the 13^th of August. It was Venus-Sun-Jupiter in Vimshottari from 13 July 2020 to 30 August 2020. In his Libra lagna chart Ketu is in the lagna with Mars and Sun is in the Nakshatra Shatabhisha which is ruled by Rahu. So Rahu and Ketu has  influence his lagna and Sun. The Dasa lord Venus is in the 6^th house of diseases and Bhukti lord Sun is in the Nakshatra of Rahu. The Antra lord Jupiter is the lord of 6^th house but since it is not under any serious affliction so he recovered with home quarantine treatment only.

Chart 6. Lung infection due to corona

            Longitude: 94 E 54’ and Latitude: 22 N 28’

Balance of Dasa in Vimshottari: Mercury 11 years 0 months 18 days

This Vargottama Gemini lagna chart is of a young businessman who had to admitted to the ICU in the mid of September due to severe chest congestion after corona virus infection. It was during his Vimshottari Dasa of Sun-Rahu-Moon from 6 September 2020 to 3 October 2020 when he was suffering from coronavirus infections. His cousin brother consulted he for his recovery in the mid of September. A prediction was given to him that he will recovery after his Antra of Moon gets over in the first week of October. In the birth chart the 8^th lord Saturn, 3^rd lord Sun and lagna lord Mercury were in Kendra. The 10^th lord Jupiter in the 3^rd house was also indicating good longevity. The 8^th house is Ayu Sathan, the primary house for longevity. The 8^th from 8^th is the 3^rd house which is also to be seen for longevity matters. The 10^th house is the 8^th from the 3^rd so it is also taken as house for longevity. In Navamsa also the lords of 8^th, 3^rd and 10^th house were strong so a prediction was given to his family that there will not be any danger go his life and he will recovery completely in first week of October. This forecast came out correct and he was discharged from the hospital during the given time frame.

See his Dasa lord Sun is in close conjunction with 8^th lord Saturn. Bhukti lord is Rahu which is with 5^th lord Venus showing promise of recovery. The 5^th and 9^th houses lords can give recovery from serious illness. The Antra lord Moon is the karaka for lungs badly placed in the 6^th house in debilitation and getting aspect of 8^th lord Saturn made him hospitalized. It is when the Antra of Mars came, which is well placed in the 5^th house, he got fully recovered after the 3^rd of October 2020. The recovery from illness happen during Sun-Rahu-Mars in Vimshottari. Mars as the Antra lord is in benefic sign and in the benefic Navamsa was helpful in his recovery from serious illness.

Chart 7. Amit Shah

             22 October 1964, 05:25 hours at Mumbai, Maharashtra

             Longitude: 72 E 49’ and Latitude: 18 N 58’

Balance of Dasa in Vimshottari: Venus 16 years 0 months 25 days

The Virgo lagna horoscope given here is of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah who was tested positive for corona virus infection on the 2^nd of August and was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Delhi. Later after few days he quarantined himself at AIIMS to minimise health risk. On the 17^th of August he was tested negative for coronavirus and after few days got discharged from the hospital. But in the month of September he was again admitted to the AIIMS for couple of days due to some chest infection. During Rahu-Moon-Venus (from 2^nd  July 2020 to 2^nd  October 2020) he had to face these health issues due to COVID-19 which became national headlines and lots of speculations about his health were being made then , after he was seen with lots of weight loss in pictures. In the birth chart of Amit Shah there is no benefic planet in Kendra from lagan and Moon which is a big weakness when it comes to the matters of health and longevity.

An exchange of houses between 2^nd lord Venus and 12^th lord Sun is good for excellent communication skills but then since these lords are under bad aspects of Saturn and Mars respectively so this is not a good yoga for health. Also an exchange between 8^th lord Mars and 11^th lord Moon is a good yoga for a politician as 8^th house is also the house of surprise gains and signify the success of political plots against enemies. Moon is in exchange with its sign lord Mars is a good Raja Yoga as per the ‘Chandra Yoga Adhayaa’ of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. But here Moon is in the 8^th house under the aspects of retrograde 6^th lord Saturn from the 6^th house and also Sun-Mercury which are in the 2^nd house a ‘Maraka’ bhava. In Navamsa Moon again comes under affliction as it get the bad aspect of Saturn from the 6^th house of diseases.

The noticeable point here is that 4^th house from both lagna and Moon has the presence of malefic planets. The 5^th house from the lagna and from the Sun is under the aspect of Mars. So the lungs signify by 4^th house and the heart denoted by Sun and the 5^th house are both at risk. The dasa Chidra of Rahu-Mars from October 2020 to November 2021 and later the Jupiter-Jupiter period are both becoming ‘Maraka’. Rahu dasa period in a horoscope which has affliction to the 4^th house from lagna and Moon and the Sun and 5^th house can be very dangerous as it may give lots of health complications which may risk longevity of a native.

India is battling with second wave of corona virus  since March 2021. It is after the ‘Shada-Graha Yoga’ on the Amavasaya (no Moon) of the 12th of February this year the Covid cases started increasing from Maharashtra. Now the Delhi-NCR, Madhya Pradesh, UP, Chhattisgarh, Bihar  etc. are likely to become the next hot spots, as daily cases of corona infections are rapidly rising there. In the January 2021 issue of Modern Astrology magazine my article “Shad Graha Yoga of 2021 and World Affairs’ was appeared where on page number 39 i had mention the possibility of the ‘second wave of corona-virus’. But i was not been able to anticipate its virulence which is very strong and potentially dangerous to destroy India’s health care system as it has  now even spread to the villages  which were not affected last year due to the strict lock-down measures. Rahu’s stationary movement in Rohini Nakshatra in May-June and Saturn’s long stay into Shravana Nakshatra is going to prove devastating for India’s public health in coming months. The OPD’s and Emergency wards in most of the top hospitals are already running out of their capacity across many cities of India. The vaccination drive has been slow right from the beginning.

In Brihat Samhita’s ‘Shani-Chaar-Adhaya’ Chapter number 10, Stanza number 17 it has been mention that transit of Saturn from Shravana Nakshatra is bad for the  government servants, famous businessmen, medical practitioners, pontiffs and inhabitants of Kalinga (Orissa). We have seen how the various pontiff’s were being criticized for being irresponsible to hold mass gathering  during the second wave of Covid in India. Many religious bodies cancelled Haridwar Khumbha Mela after the surge in corona virus infections in the mid of April. The medical practitioner are under pressure due to the lack of facilities in hospitals for Covid patients.

India’s hospitals swamped by second corona virus waves as shot run low 

If one has to blame someone for this crisis  then it is only the people of India who vote for the religion, cast and for development of infrastructure for industry,  but do not demand from their representatives better health care facilities. During the corona-virus pandemic the assembly elections in 6 major states, out of 28, has been taken place in India but in none of the elections ‘health care’ had become a major political  issue despite the fact there was a clear danger of second wave of virus and now the third one is also not ruled out before the end of this year.  India is among the countries which spend the lowest on its health care budget which is just 1.26% of its GDP. 

Rahu’s stationary movement in Rohini Nakshatra in 2021

The transit of malefic planets from Rohini Nakshatra ruled by Moon bring lots of pain and suffering for the humans is a principal mention in Brihat Samhita’s chapter 46, stanza 14. Rahu is hovering into the middle of Rohini Nakshatra at present. Rohini Nakshatra is from 10 degrees of Taurus to 23 degrees 20 minutes. Rahu and Ketu’s motion are backward but at times they also move direct and become stationary for few days. This year during the month of May and June Rahu will be stationary in the Rohini Nakshatra. As per Lahiri Ayanamsya, page number 24 and 26, Rahu on the 1st of May will be at 16 degrees and 53 minutes in Taurus sign. On the 30th of June it will be at 16 degrees and 15 minutes. So in the span of 60 days Rahu will move only 37 minutes in one sign which is because of its direct movement in between. As per Lahiri Ayanamsya at page number 67 mean position of all the Nakshatra’s has been given. As per this Rohini Nakshatra’s mean position this year is 15 degrees and 55 minutes. So Rahu will become stationary to the very close to the Nirayana longitude of Rohini Nakshatra. The declination of Rohini Nakshatra current is 16 degrees and 32 minute North. Rahu’s declination in May-June is around 22 degrees North. So Rahu will not be able to do ‘Rohini Shakata Bhedan’ i.e. piercing the wane of Rohini Nakshatra but still this transit amidst a pandemic  is very dangerous.

Hindu New Year horoscope 2021 and Raksha Samvatsara

There is a major controversy going on in the astrological circle in North India over the name of this year’s  Samvatsara. There are 60 Samvatsara mentioned in the historical Indian calendar and also in the classical texts of Mundane astrology. But there is a controversy  over how their cycle should be running. Thus in North and South different Samvatsara are followed. This year the problem is more murkier as many astrologers are taking a ‘Samvatsara lopa’ or omission of one Samvatsara due to the Atichary movement (fast movement) of Jupiter which has touch base three Rashi’s in the one Hindu New Year. At the time of Hindu New Year 2020 (24 March 2020, 14:58 hours at Delhi) Jupiter was in Sagittarius at 29 degrees and 15 minutes. After Chaitra Shukla Pratipada it move into Capricorn. This year just before the beginning of Hindu New Year 2021 on the 12th of April Jupiter had entered into Aquarius. So Jupiter has been into Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius during the time period of one Hindu Near year. In 2020 it was ‘Pramadi’ (lazy) Samvatsara and after which there was the turn of ‘Ananda’ (happiness) Samvatsara but since Jupiter has moved 3 sign’s during one Hindu New year in its fast moving motion, so the  one Samvatsara has to be omitted.  As per the principals of  ‘Vashishta Samhita’ and ‘Muhurat Chintamani’ if Jupiter due to its fast moving motion moves into a new sign and do not turn back in retrograde motion in the same sign in the current Hindu New Year then it is know as ‘Lupta Samvatsara’ i.e. omitted Samvatsara. This condition is not applied in Jupiter’s transit into Aries, Taurus, Aquarius and Pisces.

Jupiter was in fast moving motion in year 2020-2021 and it will come back into Capricorn in retrograde motion only after 15th of September. So the Samvatsara ‘Ananda’ has to be omitted after the Pramadi and now it is ‘Rakshasa’ Samvatsara which literally means devil. The Rakshasa Samvatsara (devil year) tend to bring loss of human values, increases crime in the society and rulers become autocratic and unpopular due to their bad policy decisions.

In the Hindu New Year horoscope the 8th house of mass deaths is under the influence of Mars in both Rashi and Navamsha charts. In the Rashi chart Taurus is rising and there is a bad exchange between lagna lord Venus and 12th lord Mars. The 12th house is the house of hospitals and which is having 6th lord Venus placed in it showing the crumbling health infrastructure due to which country will face an emergency in the second half of this year. The King and Minister of the year both portfolio is with malefic Mars which is another indication of an emergency law being imposed on general public during his year.

Thirteen days lunar fortnight in September 2021 and fear of third wave of corona virus

In the Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha the Pratipada i.e. first day of lunar fortnight is Kshya (date loss) and also Triyodashi (thirteenth lunar day) is also Kshya as both tithi’s are after the Sun rise on that day and ending before the Sun rise of next days. This year in September a 13 days lunar fortnight will come in the Bhadra Pada Shukla Paksha (brighter fortnight of Bhadra Pada lunar month) from 8^th of September to 20^th of September. Normally a lunar fortnight is of 15 days but if a tithi comes short then it is of 14 days but if a tithi increases then the lunar fortnight becomes of 16 days. Now in the Bhadra Pada Shukla Paksha two tithi’s are falling short or tithi Kshay (date loss) so this lunar fortnight is of 13 days only. As per Bhavishya Phala Bhaskar if a lunar fortnight is of 13 days then it bring lots of violence and destruction on the earth. So once we get some relief from the on going second wave of corona virus after June we should not get complacent as there shall be a danger from the third wave of corona virus in the last quarter of this year.

Until Saturn leaves Shravana Nakshatra and Rahu moves out of Taurus sign the corona virus pandemic may keep creating havoc around the world. Saturn will leave Shravana Nakshatra in the mid of February 2022 and Rahu will leave Taurus sign in the first week of March as per Lahiri Ayanamsha. So after March 2022 it is likely that the bad effects of this pandemic will get mitigated  and it will then become a ‘common flue like virus’ which will not harm much to the humans as it is doing now. But before this we may have to bear with the third wave of corona virus in the last quarter of year 2021 which could be little a difficult for some countries including India.

Inauspicious Oath Taking Horoscope of Narendra Modi 2.0 government

In the Scorpio lagna oath taking horoscope of Narendra Modi government 2.0 the 8th house of mass death has Rahu and Mars conjunction. Saturn from the 2nd house give degree aspect to this Rahu. This is a clear indication of a massive public health emergency as now the transiting Rahu is in Taurus close to the natal Sun of this oath taking horoscope. The Modi government may impose some emergency law in the second half of this year due to corona virus pandemic crisis and some other national emergency situation due to China’s aggression on the borders.
