In an interesting development in Bihar the chief minister Nitish Kumar dumped his allies RJD-Congress and joined the camp of BJP to form the new government earlier this week. This is seen as the strategic victory of the due of Modi-Shah who has been constantly destroying the opposition by hook or crook in every state. This has become the pattern since 2014 when Narendra Modi came into the helm of affairs in Indian politics. The BJP has been constantly trying to lure the opposition party’s MP’s and MLA’s into their camp. In Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand they imposed the president rule in 2016 after getting failed to secure the enough numbers to create a rebellion in the ruling party. Later these decisions of the BJP led central government was quashed by the Supreme Court of India in their judgements. In earlier this year in March the BJP formed governments in Manipur and Goa despite not being the single largest party.
It is now an open secret that Modi and Shah want an opposition free India but in the process they are destroying the values of the BJP itself. The BJP was once consider to be the cadre based party, the only one of its kind after the communist, where the difference were tolerated and the leaders were provided the space to groom in an environment of healthy competition. But now the BJP has become a two man party with Modi and Shah ruling with iron hand. No minister in the central cabinet has the real powers or veto. The Westminster parliamentary system that India follow has now become a joke. The concept of prime minister being the ‘first among the equals’ is not visible. Everything in the cabinet is controlled and pre-approved by prime minister Modi and his powerful PMO officials. Take an example of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who was sent to Goa to be a chief minister of a minority government in March this year. Since then India do not have a full time defence minister. The finance minister Arun Jaitley has been given the additional charge of the defence despite the fact that country is facing war like situation in Kashmir and more recently in the Dokalam at Sikkim where China is at loggerhead with Indian army.
The recent political events in Bihar and the deflections in U.P. , Gujarat and some other states in favor BJP revels their agenda of making an ‘opposition free India’. The biggest threat to the democracy is their attempt to victimized the opposition parties by unleashing state institutions like CBI, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department etc. BJP is using the same tactics which was once used by Indira Gandhi during the 1970’s to crush the opposition. I have mention this in many of my posts on this blog that Narendra Modi is like ‘Indira Gandhi of BJP’.

Horoscope of Nitish Kumar
1 March 1951, 13:20 hours at Bakhtiyarpur (Bihar)
Longitude 85 E 31′ Latitude 25 N 28′
Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Mercury 10 years 8 months 1 day
Now see this Mithuna (Gemini) lagna horoscope of Nitish Kumar who was once consider as a potential challenger to the prime minister Narendra Modi after the BJP’s huge defeat in the Bihar assembly elections in November 2015. The most interesting thing about his horoscope is that he has his Moon in Scorpio which is similar with both Modi and BJP. The Moon sigh of prime minister Modi and BJP is also Scorpio. The BJP has Mithuna (Gemini) lagan and so is Nitish Kumar.
In this horoscope the dasha of Rahu, which was started in November 2011, brought major upheavals in his political career. Nitish Kumar broke an alliance with BJP in June 2013 in the anticipation of Narendra Modi being made the prime ministerial candidate of the BJP for general elections in 2014. Nitish Kumar’s party JDU was running the state government with the BJP since 2003 then. Nitish Kumar had the fear of loosing his Muslim voters in Bihar had his party continued their partnership with the Modi led BJP. Nitish Kumar and Sharad Yadav were both ministers in the BJP led NDA government at the center ( 1998 to 2004). They had good relationship with Atal Bihar Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani. But they were not comfortable with Modi’s political ideology of hardcore Hindutava.
However, Nitish Kumar’s political maneuver of severing ties with BJP didn’t workout well as his party lost general elections in 2014 very badly. He was under the dasha of Rahu-Rahu-Moon in Vimshottari then. The Sadhe-Sati of Saturn was also going on as the transiting Saturn was in Libra with just 22 Ashtakavarga points which was very weak.
Later Nitish Kumar joined hands with Lalu Yadava and Congress to avenge his defeat from the hands of Modi. In the assembly elections of Bihar in November 2015 the grand alliance of JDU, RJD and Congress easily defeated the BJP despite prime minister Modi’s record 30 elections rallies in the state. However, the Lalu Yadav’s RJD got more seats then Nitish Kumar’s JDU which was a sort of set back for him. The RJD got 80 seats while JDU could manage 71 seats. The BJP had 53 seats while Congress got 27 seats in the Bihar assembly polls of 2015.
It was the dasha of Rahu-Jupiter-Venus in the horoscope of Nitish Kumar then. The Rahu and Jupiter are in close conjunction in both Rashi and Navamsha making ‘Chandaal’ yoga. The sub-sub period lord Venus exalted in the 10th house gave him record victory in the assembly elections. The transiting Saturn was over his natal Moon in Scorpio then with 34 Ashtakavarga points. The Kemadruma Moon receiving the aspect of Saturn gave him problems also. He had to compromise on his clean image and join hands with Lalu Yadava who was disqualified the judiciary for fighting elections due to corruption charges.
The weakness of Rahu-Jupiter dasha and the transiting Saturn over his natal Moon in Scorpio gave him lots of troubles working with Lalu Yadava who was once his staunch political rival. Nitish Kumar has to bear the burden of Lalu Yadava’s inexperience son’s being accommodated in his cabinet at important positions. The young 28 years old Tejashvi Yadava was made deputy chief minister and Tej Pratap Yadava, another son of Lalu, was given the responsibility of Health ministry.
The dasha of Rahu-Saturn was in operation ( December 2016 to October 2019) when he got the opportunity to get rid of RJD-Congress alliance on the excuse of income tax department’s raids on the Lalu Yadava’s family. The transiting Saturn is over his Janma Nakshatra Jyeshta in retrograde motions when he took this earth-shaking step in Bihar politics. However, this decision of Nitish Kumar will be more helpful for the BJP than his own political career as he may loose his credibility as a secular leader. Nitish Kumar also have to submit to the authority of Modi-Shah’s aggressive politics.
What is the future of Nitish Kumar ?
With joining hands with the BJP one this is amply clear now that Nitish Kumar has left behind his political ambition of becoming the prime minister of India. He was once consider one of the best among the successful chief ministers of India because his commendable work in Bihar which was the poorest state of India from many aspects. Now he will have to work under the shadow of Narendra Modi for whom he was once consider as the prospective challenger in the general elections of 2019. The BJP is in win-win situation in this scenario as they do not have any leader in the opposition who can stand in front of charismatic Narendra Modi for the post of prime minister in next elections.
Nitish Kumar’s Rahu-Saturn dasha will give him health issues and problem within his organizations. Some senior leaders like Sharad Yadava have already showed their resentment for not being consulted before taking this important decision in Bihar. The dasha lord Rahu and Saturn are at 6/8 position in the horoscope of Nitish Kumar. The 8th lord Saturn in the 4th house may give him troubles in the heart. The Saturn is in mutual aspect with 5th lord Venus and 6th lord Mars which will give him power but with lots of difficulties as he will find Modi’s BJP a tougher partner to work with. This new term of Nitish Kumar will not be easy for him though his party JDU is likely to do well in the coming general elections of 2019.
