In Brihat Samhita of Varahamihira chapter number 14, Nakshatra Koorma Adhyay is based on the study of ancient Koorma Chakra which has also been mentioned in Vishnu Purana. This Koorma Chakra is a graphical mapping of ancient India (Bharata) into 9 zones having 3 asterism each starting from Kritika, Rohini, Mrigsira group. As per Brihat Samhita Ardra, Punarvasu and Pushya signify the East direction. In this zone the area of Bengal and Assam comes. As per this ancient text Pragjyotishpur (ancient kingdom of Kamrupa) is present day Assam. Also, Gaura, Vanga and Anga Desha (kingdoms) are the present-day Bengal region, among which the West Bengal state is part of India while the eastern area of Bengal is now Bangladesh.

In the book “Dr. B.V. Raman – Jottings from his Astrological Diary… And More’ in the chapter number 3 title ‘India’s freedom’ at page number 26 and 27, the Mrigasira 3 (third part) has been assigned to Calcutta as per the Avakahada system. Dr. Raman uses to take Gemini and also a part of Cancer as the ruling sign of Bengal region as per this book.

Interestingly, last time when a major political change came in West Bengal State was during May 2011 assembly polls when transit Saturn was in Virgo giving aspect to the 10^th house from Gemini the zodiac sign of this state. In that assembly elections Trinamool Congress Party led by Mamata Banerjee defeated CPI (M) to end the 27 year long Communist Parties rule in the state. During that time the transiting Saturn was in Virgo in the 4^th house from Gemini and Jupiter was in Pisces in the 10^th from Gemini along with Venus, Mercury and Mars. Rahu was in Sagittarius then. West Bengal State Elections

The political landscape of West Bengal has changed since the last assembly polls held in April-May 2021. At that time BJP under the leadership of Dilip Ghosh emerged as the major opposition party by winning 77 seats with impressive 38.15% of vote shares. Trinmool Congress had won 211 seats in 294 member legislative assembly with 48.02% of vote shares. The transiting Saturn was in Capricorn then along with Jupiter in the 8^th house from the zodiac sign of West Bengal which is Gemini.

At present Suvendu Adhikari is the leader of opposition from the BJP since May  2021. He was once a state minister in Trinmool Congress government during 2016 to 2020 but then he left the party and joined BJP. He was born on 15^th of December 1970 (time unknown) when the Moon was in Gemini sign. His Naamakshar ‘Su’ gives Shatabhisa Nakshatra ruled by Rahu in Aquarius sign. The transiting Saturn is in favourable position from both his natal Moon in Gemini and Namaakshar sign Aquarius.

Mamata Banerjee five years younger than her official records

In her memoir, My Unforgettable Memories, Banerjee wrote: “I was not even fifteen when I wrote my school final examination and would have been disqualified for being underage. So, my father gave a fictitious age and birthday to get around the problem”. Apparently ‘Didi’ was born on October 5, instead of January five, as the book says that her mother had once given her a horoscope with that date mentioned in it.

Thus, the real birth detail of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is not available with us.

In the Pisces lagna foundation horoscope of Trinmool Congress Party (chart 1) there is a beautiful exchange between the lagna lord Jupiter and the 11^th lord Saturn. The lagna lord Jupiter is debilitated in the 11^th house of gains and it is in degree conjunction with malefic  Upa-Graha Gulika which as per the Parashari method comes at 29 degrees and 31 minutes in Capricorn. But a noticeable point here is that the Jupiter as the lagna and 10^th lord is also in conjunction with the 5^th lord (minister most) the Moon, 9^th lord (luck) Mars and also the 3^rd lord (valour) Venus. The conjunction of lagna and 10^th lord with the 5^th and 9^th lord is a major Raja Yoga here. In Navamsha  Jupiter is in the lagna and afflicted by the aspects of malefic Mars and Saturn both. In Dasha masa Jupiter is in the 6^th house though it is in mutual aspect with the 10^th lord there and it also aspect the 10^th house of political power.

Thus, during Jupiter Dasha  Jupiter Anter Dasha  and Saturn Pratyanter Dasha  Trinmool Congress Party can retain power somehow but their vote share will decline from the last assembly elections. In transit Jupiter get 31 points in Sarvashtaka Varga in Gemini and 3 points in own Bhinnashtaka. Saturn get 29 points in Sarvashtaka Varga in Pisces and 4 points in its own Bhinnashtaka Varga in the foundation chart of Trinmool Congress which is good.

Favourable Jaimini Chara Dasha  

As per the Jaimini Chara Dasha  scheme Dasha  of Cancer and Anter Dasha  of Libra will  be running from 1^st January 2026 to 2^nd of July  2026 in the foundation horoscope of Trinmool Congress party (chart 3). Dasha  Rashi  Cancer is 7^th house from the Atamakaraka Jupiter and the 11^th house from the Karakamsha lagna which is Virgo. Anter Dasha  Rashi  Libra is the 10^th house from Atamakaraka and the 2^nd from Karakamsha lagna which is also fine. The 10^th Pada is in Aquarius which is 8^th from the Dasha  Rashi  Cancer but 5^th from the Anter Dasha  Rashi  Libra.

Amatayakaraka Mercury is in fixed sign Scorpio and it  aspect the movable Dasha  Rashi  Cancer and also the 10^th house from it which is Aries. In Jaimini system fixed sign aspect the movable sign except the adjacent sign, fixed sign aspect movable sign except the adjacent sign, and the dual sign aspect each other.

From the Anter Dasha  sign Libra the Amatayakaraka Mercury is in the 2^nd house which is good.

Chart 2. Annual Horoscope of Trinmool Congress for completed year 28

The annual horoscope of Trinmool Congress (chart 2) is very enigmatic. Taurus lagna rise in the annual horoscope which is the 3^rd house of the Pisces lagna foundation horoscope (chart 1) of this party. Muntha (progressed lagna) is in Cancer which is the 3^rd house from the rising sign Taurus in the annual horoscope. The Muntha lord the Moon is strongly placed in the lagna and get the aspect of Yogkaraka Saturn. But the aspect of Mars from the 8^th house on the Muntha shows some violence activities.

In the annual horoscope of Trinmool Congress a major Raja Yoga of the 4^th lord the Sun and 5^th lord Mercury is formed in the 8^th house which get strength due to the 10^th aspect of Yogakaraka Saturn. As per the Parashari system for Taurus ascendant chart the yoga of the 4^th lord the Sun and 5^th lord Mercury is first grade Raja Yoga. The Raja Yoga in the annual horoscope can make Trinmool Congress win the assembly election but due to the strong influence of Mars on the Muntha (progressed lagna) and other planets some violence during election can’t be ruled out.

Enigmatic Yogini Dasha  

In Yogini Dasha  the Dasha  of Sankata and Anter Dasha  of Sankata ruled by Rahu will be running from April 2025 to January 2027 in the foundation horoscope of Trinmool Congress Party (chart 1). Sankata Dasha  Sankata Anter Dasha  and Bhadrika (rule by Mercury) Pratyanter Dasha  would be running from March 2026 to June 2026 for Trinmool Congress Party. Rahu is in the 6^th house of the Trinmool Congress chart which get the 8^th aspect of 9^th lord (communal tensions) Mars. The transiting Rahu is in Aquarius which is the 9^th house from Gemini the zodiac sign of West Bengal. The transit of Rahu over the natal Ketu in the foundation chart of Trinmool Congress Party is indicating some major political violence. Since the Dasha  lords Rahu and Mercury in Yogini Dasha  are strong in mutual Kendra so Trinmool Congress can win assembly election, but political violence can’t be ruled out due to adverse transit of Rahu from the 9^th house of West Bengal’s zodiac sign Gemini.

Sensitive transit periods of Mars

During 23^rd of February to 2^nd of April 2026 the transit Mars will be in Aquarius in conjunction with malefic Rahu which is already transiting there only. These two natural malefic planets will be in the 9^th house from Gemini the zodiac sign for West Bengal and Bangladesh also. There will be some news of communal tensions in this region. Then Mars will join Saturn in Pisces from 2^nd of April to 11^th of May. This period can bring political violence in West Bengal state as both Mars and Saturn will be in the 10^th house (governance) from Gemini.
