The terror attack on Paris unleashed by Islamic State on the night of 13 November 2015 has once again started a debate on the ‘Clash of Civilizations’ theory given by famous political scientist late Samuel P. Huntington. According to this theory propounded by Huntington in 1992 , People’s cultural and religious identities will be the primary source of conflict in the post-cold war world . The Islamic State terrorists who inflicted the mass murder in Paris are an offshoot of the ‘Sunni Wahhabism’ movement that sees Islam and the West locked in an inevitable moral combat. Earlier it was Al-Qaeda now it is Islamic State and in future there could be some other terrorist group that may emerge out challenging the world peace.Continue Reading
