Partial Lunar Eclipse of 27/28 August 2026- What it foretells ?

August 26, 2026 By Sachin Malhotra

A partial lunar eclipse will be visible in parts of Europe, North America, South America, and Africa on the night of August 27–28, coinciding with the full moon of the Shravan month. Since the night would have already ended in India by the time of the eclipse, thus it will not be visible anywhere in the country, and the ‘Sutaka’ (inauspicious period) rules of  religious observations  will not apply. During this partial eclipse, the Earth’s shadow will cover 96.2% of the visible disk  of the  Moon; consequently, its astrological impact will be akin to that of a total lunar eclipse. At the time of the eclipse, the Aries Ascendant  will be rising in major South American nations like Peru, Mexico, and Brazil, whereas the Taurus Ascendant  will be rising in the United States. In major European countries such as France, England, and Italy, the eclipse will be visible after midnight on August 28, with the Leo ascendant prevailing.

As this eclipse occurs while the Moon is in the ‘Shatabhisha’  Nakshatra within the Aquarius zodiac sign, the aspect of Mercury upon the Moon from close degrees creates an astrological configuration indicating potential earthquakes and significant volatility in the stock market around the time of the eclipse.

Turbulence expected in the economies of India and the United States

According to the ‘Brihat Samhita’, a text dating back to the 2nd century BCE, if Mercury aspects the Moon or the Sun during an eclipse, it leads to “losses concerning honey, oil, and kings (rulers).” During this eclipse on the night of August 27–28, the Moon will be at 10 degrees 40 minutes in Aquarius at its peak. Mercury, transiting in Leo at 11 degrees 8 minutes, will cast a direct 7th  aspect upon it; this alignment suggests significant fluctuations in the stock market immediately following the eclipse or within the subsequent 15 days. In India, prices of food items could rise sharply due to inflation.

Astrological Predictions about Lunar Eclipse of 27/28 August 2026

According to Indian Standard Time, the full moon (‘Purnima’) of the Shravan month will conclude at 9:48 AM on August 28, 2026 (in Delhi). At that time, the Libra Ascendant  will be rising, with the debilitated Venus positioned in the twelfth house—the house of loss. The astrological alignment of Saturn’s seventh aspect and Mars’ fourth aspect on  the lagna lord Venus indicates that the general public will face hardships due to rising prices over the coming days. Furthermore, the seventh aspect of Mercury falling upon the conjunction of the Moon and Rahu in the fifth house of the Shravan Purnima chart suggests an intensification of the ongoing protests by students and the youth in India; consequently, the government will be compelled—under pressure—to make promises such as increasing the education budget.

In the Navamsha of  the  Full Moon the lagna  lord  is Venus which aspect the 5th house of students. The 5th lord  is Saturn  which is in the 3rd house  with 3rd lord is  powerful. Thus the CJP (Cockroach Janata Party)  ‘Fix the School’s or  Improve the  Education infrastructure’ campaign will be a big success in the month of September (Refer link – https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/aurangabad/abhijeet-dipkes-school-thik-karo-campaign-enters-new-phase-targets-rural-school-transport/articleshow/133322519.cms}

At the time of the eclipse, the Taurus Ascendant will be rising in Washington, the US capital; here, the Moon and Rahu in the tenth house (representing governance) will be under the aspect of Mercury and the Sun from the fourth house (representing the seat of power). Due to the seventh aspect of Mars and the tenth aspect of Saturn falling on the eighth house, there appears to be a significant threat to the security of prominent US leaders within 30 days of the eclipse. Signs of earthquakes and natural disasters are also evident in California, USA. Furthermore, the chart for this lunar eclipse points towards political turmoil and anti-war public movements within the United States.

Likelihood of epidemic  in these countries

At the time of the eclipse, the Moon will be in Aquarius, the air sign, and Mars in Gemini. Retrograde Saturn in Pisces, the tenth house from Mars, may cause earthquakes and unusually heavy rains accompanied by strong winds. There is a possibility of natural disasters in the northern parts of the United States and also in Peru and Chile in South America. In major European countries like France, England, and Germany, Leo ascendant is rising at the time of the eclipse, where the influence of Aquarius, the sign of the eclipse, in the seventh house, is likely to lead to some violent incidents and anti-government protests. In India, a few days after the eclipse, on September 18th, as Mars enters Cancer, many states will experience unusually heavy rainfall.

There are chances of unusually heavy rainfall in Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and eastern Uttar Pradesh in the second half of September. On September 18th, Mars entering Cancer and aspecting Aquarius, the sign of the eclipse, with its eighth aspect, could lead to a rapid increase in cases of Ebola virus in North Africa and swine flu in major Indian cities.
