When Rahu Enters the Minds of Politicians and Ruling Elites

In Hindu astrology, Rahu and Ketu are considered shadow planets. Rahu and Ketu are not visible celestial bodies but are merely mathematical points in the sky. Rahu is the northern intersection point of the Earth and Moon’s orbits, and Ketu is the southern intersection point. From the perspective of mundane astrology, Rahu is associated with caste-based politics, religious conflicts, opportunism, terrorist activities, foreign conspiracies, scandals, etc. According to Bhrigu astrology, when Rahu transits over the natal Jupiter, it is a time of great upheaval in life which could be very painful at times. Similarly, when Rahu and Ketu transit over the natal Rahu and Ketu, it causes significant turmoil in the ideologies and policies of politicians and political parties. The Maha Dasha of Rahu placed in the 5th house or with the 5th lord and/or the transit of Rahu over the natal 5th house or 5th lord is also consider to bring major ideological shifts, opportunism  and mental aberrations.   

Currently, Ketu is transiting in Leo and Rahu is in Aquarius since 30th of May 2025, and they will remain in these signs until 26th of November 2026. The transiting Rahu is afflicting the natal Ketu and Mercury in Aquarius in the BJP’s foundation horoscope  (Chart 1).

The transiting Ketu in Leo has activated  an inauspicious combination by transiting over natal Mars, Saturn, Rahu, and Jupiter, which are all situated in the same sign in the BJP’s foundation chart. Mercury and Ketu in the 9th house getting the aspect of natural malefic Mars and Saturn are forming classical ‘Kapti-Yoga’ as per Jataka Tattwam which is making the leaders of this party deceitful and highly opportunist. 

Interestingly BJP led government at the center had approved the cast based census on the 30th of April 2025 when the Vimshottari Dasha of  the Moon and Anter Dasha of Mercury (from February 2024 to July 2025) was running in the foundation chart of the Party. Earlier BJP was opposing the cast based census in the country when regional parties RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal), JDU (Janata Dal United) supported by Congress had conducted the cast census in Bihar state.

But later on when the Anter Dasha of Mercury involved in ‘Kapti Yoga’ started in the Maha Dasha of the Moon the BJP took a U-turn and they themself approved a cased based census in the entire country {Refer link – https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2125526&reg=3&lang=2}.

Recently, on January 13th, the new regulations introduced by the UGC (University Grants Commission) to eliminate caste, religion, place of birth, and gender-based discrimination in higher education institutions are facing strong opposition from upper castes in North and Central India. In the foundation chart of independent India (Chart 2), which has a Taurus ascendant, the challenging Vimshottari Dasha of Mars and Anter Dasha of Rahu, starting from February 5, 2026, indicates some major and surprising political upheavals  in the country.

UGC Regulations and Social Conflicts explained astrologically

On January 13, 2026, the UGC implemented rules to establish a strict monitoring system to eliminate discrimination in all higher education institutions. On the 27th of January i had discussed the horoscope cast for the time when Gazette notification for the UGC rules were issued and the new regulations came into force. I had given this forecast at my Facebook and Linkedin Page which came out correct when the apex court had put a stay on these regulations in its interim order on the 29th of January 2026.

The UGC states that complaints of discrimination against backward classes, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes in universities have more than doubled between 2019 and 2025. According to the students and teachers protesting these rules, some sections of the regulations are particularly controversial. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court, stating that Section 3(C) of the regulations violates freedom of expression, equality, and individual rights. 
University Grand Commission (UGC) Promotion of Equality in Higher Education Institutions Regulations 2026 was enacted by a Gazette notification on 13th of January 2026 at 00:00 hours at Delhi.
The new UGC regulations has spark debates as it drops proposal to impose penalty on false complains. Also, Section 3(C) of the 2026 UGC regulations has been challenged in the Supreme Court on the ground violates fundamental rights guaranteed under the Indian Constitution, particularly Article 14 (Equality before law) as it don’t include the general category to make complaint against any time of cast discrimination in higher institutions.
The Panchang elements of the day when these new UGC rules were brought into force were not good. Tithi Krishna Dashmi (Tenth lunar day of darker half), Nakshatra Vishaka and Shoola Yoga were not good. In the Virgo lagna chart the aspect of 6th lord Saturn on the lagna spark debate. The close degree conjunction of the lagna and 10th lord Mercury with the 8th lord Mars indicate malicious intentions of the government to divide university campus on cast grounds. Mercury in close conjunction with Mars forms a classical ‘Kapti Yoga’. These new UGC Regulation Rules 2026 will get changed after the apex court decision. As per this chart the lagna is afflicted by Saturn in Rashi and also in Navamsha which shows major changes in these UGC rules after judicial interventions.
From an astrological perspective, the mutual aspect between Saturn and Mars at the time of the implementation of these UGC rules suggests that a modified version of these regulations shall get implemented after 1st of June when the transiting Jupiter will come into Cancer in the 11th house of the UGC Regulations chart 3.

If we see the foundation horoscope of University Grant Commission (chart 4) the Vimshottari Dasha of  Venus and Anter Dasha of Saturn from June 2024 to August 2027 suggest major conflicts coming due to the poor governing of this statuary body. The Dasha lords Venus and Saturn are in planetary war and they are in conjunction with malefic Rahu. The current Vimshottari Dasha period of Venus-Saturn-Venus from 3rd of August 2025 to 12th of February 2026 has to bring this humiliation for the UGC for the poor drafting and management of their new regulations.
In the foundation horoscope of UGC (Chart 4) the Anter Dasha lord Saturn aspect the 9th house of higher education. It will not be a big surprise that this statuary body of government of India may bring some new rules for reservation/affirmative actions in private sector higher education during this year only. Rahu is influencing the 5th lord Saturn in the foundation horoscope of UGC which can compel them to make another mistake sooner or later.

What happen when Rahu influence the minds of ruling elites

When Rahu in its Dasha or Transit influence the 5th house/lord in the horoscope of ruling elites then their policy decisions create conflicts and divisions  in the society at serious levels. In the birth chart of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi (chart 5) the transiting Rahu from Aquarius is hovering over his natal Rahu in the same sign in his Libra (Tula) lagna horoscope.

The Maha Dasha of Rahu placed in the 5th house of Rahul Gandhi’s horoscope (chart 5) has been running since April 2019. He is the opposition leader in the Indian Parliament since June 2024. He has been demanding to increase the reservation limits in central government jobs and higher education institutions since years. It was under his pressure only the BJP led government had to get agree to conduct at caste based national census back in April 2025. Now when the transiting Rahu is in Aquarius over his natal Rahu and he is under the Anter Dasha of Saturn in the Maha Dasha of Rahu he is likely to push the government to implement affirmation policy in private sector also.

In the Scorpio lagna birth chart of Prime Minister Modi the conjunction of lagna lord Mars with the 9th lord the Moon is a major Raja Yoga. The position of Atamakaraka Saturn along with Amatayakaraka Venus in the 10th house from Janma lagna Scorpio and in the 9th house from Karakamasha lagna Sagittarius is a big Jaimini Raja Yoga. The position of Mars in the lagna of Rashi, Navamsha, and Dreskkan is a Parashari Raja Yoga.

But the 10th lord the Sun along with 8th and 11th lord Mercury and also Ketu is a yoga which can give surprise gains and also sudden losses. The Maha Dasha of Mars and Anter Dasha of Mercury is till May 2026. Then Anter Dasha of Ketu will start from 26th of May 2026. The transiting Rahu over his natal 5th lord Jupiter and the transit of Saturn on his natal Rahu in the 5th house can give him trouble due to wrong policy decisions and it will eventually led to his fall from power anytime during year 2026.

The BJP, currently under the influence of Rahu (a malefic planet in Vedic astrology) transiting over natal Mercury and Ketu in Aquarius (chart 1)  , may implement a policy of social justice in private sector businesses and educational institutions in some states by the end of this year. After  introducing a limited system of reservations for the underprivileged sections of society, it may completely change the politics of those states. Due to the effect of Mars Dasha and Rahu Anter Dasha in the foundation horoscope of India (Chart 2) the conflict in the society on the caste and religious matters will intensify sharply during 2026.

In state of Assam a major political shift had come in April 2016 when 15-year long Congress Party’s rule led by then Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi was ended by the BJP who came into the helm of affairs after winning the assembly polls. During that time the transiting Saturn and Mars were both in Scorpio the 8th from Aries the ruling zodiac sign of Assam state.

As per the Brihat Samhita of  Varahamihira  Pragjyotishpur (ancient kingdom of Kamrupa) is present day Assam. If we see the Avakahada Chakra in Panchang (almanac) then for Assam the Hindi word ‘Aa’ comes under the  Kritika Nakshatra which falls in the zodiac sign Aries. At present the transiting Saturn is in Pisces in the 12th house from Aries showing some political and social disturbances in Assam state which may intensify when the transiting Mars will also join Saturn. During 2nd of April to 11th of May this year when the Mars will be in conjunction with Saturn in the Pisces sign which is going to be a sensitive period for Assam state.

In the Gemini lagna horoscope of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma (chart 1) there is a good Raja Yoga of the 9th lord Saturn and the 5th lord Venus in the 10th house. These two planets are in mutual opposition with the 10th lord Jupiter which make this yoga strong. Earlier he was a minister in the then Congress Party Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s cabinet. In August 2015 during his Venus Dasha  and Mars Anter Dasha  he left Congress and Joined the BJP. He becomes the chief minister of Assam on 10th of May 2021 after BJP won the state election for second consecutive time. He was then under Venus Dasha  and Jupiter Anter Dasha .

At present Himanta Biswa Sarma is under Venus Dasha  and Mercury Anter Dasha  in Vimshottari from November 2024 to September 2027. As per Laghu Parashari Venus and Mercury are Karaka planets for Gemini ascendant natives, and if they are well placed then their mutual Dasha -Anter Dasha  can give good results. Assembly elections will be held around April-May when he will be under the Pratyanter Dasha  of the Moon and Mars respectively. In his Gemini lagna chart Venus is in Raja Yoga in the 10th house and the Anter Dasha  lord Mercury is in the 8th house along with the Sun. As per some classical texts Mercury can produce good results in the 8th house like we have an exception for the Venus for giving good results in the 12th house.

Interestingly Mercury gets the benefic aspect of Jupiter in Rashi  chart and in Navamsha  it is in conjunction with Jupiter. And in Dasha masa Mercury is the lord of the lagna and get aspect from the 5th lord Saturn and the 7th lord Jupiter giving it good strength. Thus, during the Anter Dasha  of Mercury Hemanta Sarma Biswa can make his party win another assembly poll in Assam state.

But since Mercury is retrograde and it is in conjunction with 3rd lord (alliances) the Sun and also malefic Gulika so during its Anter Dasha  Hemanta Biswa Saram’s many cabinet colleagues may suffer defeat in their own election. The transit of Saturn in Pisces from the 12th house of the zodiac sign of Assam, which is Aries, also indicates the same.

As per Jaimini Chara Dasha  system the Dasha  of Sagittarius and Anter Dasha  of Aquarius from November 2025 to August 2026 is favourable in the horoscope of Assam chief minister. Amatayakaraka Mars is in the 11th house from Sagittarius, the 10th Pada and the Atamakaraka Saturn are in the 4th house in Pisces from this Dasha  Rashi . The Anter Dasha  Rashi  Aquarius is 3rd house from Sagittarius and it get the Jaimini aspect of the Amatayakaraka Mars which can give Himanta Sarma Biswa the post of chief minister for one more time.

But the lagna is very powerful as an exalted 4th  (throne of the ruler) and 11th (gains) lord Mars is placed in the lagna of Varsha Kundali along with the 9th lord (luck) Mercury in a good Dhana Yoga. The 5th (minister post) and the 10th (political power) lord Venus is also placed in the lagna along with the 9th lord Mercury in a good Raja Yoga. The Muntha (progressed lagna) is in Pisces in the 3rd house and the Muntha lord Jupiter is in the 6th house without any affliction by any natural malefic which is also good. In Brihat Samhita of Acharya Varahmihira the principals of financial astrology or commodities pricing and on career guidance through astrology has been discussed in many chapters. In the Chapter number 15 named ‘Nakshatra Vyuh Adhyay’,  the Acharya has mention various commodities and professions that are signified by all the 27 Nakshatra’s from Kritika to Bharani. The Chapter number 16 ‘Graha Bhakti Yoga Adhyay’ mention about the commodities signified by various planets, Chapter number 39 ‘Sashya Jataka Adhyay’ gives principals for forecasting winter and summer harvest, then Chapter number 40 ‘Dravya Nischay Adhyay’ lays down the rules for commodities that comes under various signs from Aries to Pisces.

The Chapter number 41 ‘ Ardhyay Kandam (Teji-Mandi)’ is the most important as it contains the astrological combinations for forecasting commodities prices on the basis of solar ingress and planetary transits with respect to various signs. So, the study of Chapter number 15,  16, 39, 40 and 41 of Brihat Samhita of Acharya Varahmihira is very important in the context of financial astrology. The later authorities have discussed financial astrology on the basis of the rules framed by Acharya Varahmihira in these chapters of Brihat Samhita. The Bhavishya Phala Bhaskar and Varsha Prabodha are two such classical works of early 20th century at present available in Hindi on the subject of financial astrology and astro-meteorology mainly.

Why Gold is giving so high returns?

Now take an example of gold which as per the ‘Dravya Nischya Adhyay’ chapter number 40 is signified by the sign Aries (Mesha). The chapter number 16 ‘Graha Bhakti Yoga Adhyay’ tells us that the Sun is the significant of the gold. We also take Jupiter as another major significant for the gold. From the transit of Jupiter, which stay in a sign for about one year we can take major trends of the gold prices. Minor trends can be seen from the transit of the Sun from the sign Aries. Since last 2 years Jupiter has been transiting from its enemy sign Taurus and now in Gemini thus prices of gold have shown bullish trends in the market. Gold ETF and physical gold have given very high returns in the last 1.5 years.

Gold was in the international market is around $ 3,340 as on July 2025. While it took nearly 12 years for gold to move from $1,000 to $2,000 between October 2009 and January 2024, it took only 14 months for it to move another $1,000 to cross the $3,000 mark when Jupiter was transiting through Taurus and Gemini signs respectively.

Transit effects of Saturn and Jupiter in 2026

In transit Saturn will move into the Uttara-Bhadra Pada Nakshatra on the 20th of January and will remain there only till the middle of May 2026. As per the Brihat Jataka ‘Shani Chaar Adhyay’ the transit of Saturn from Uttara-Bhadra Pada Nakshtra gives trouble to peoples living at the bank of rivers, those who manufacture vehicles, women’s and gold smiths etc. Also, Saturn will be in Revati Nakshatra in the second half of 2026. As per Brihat Samhita Saturn transit from Revati Nakshatra gives trouble to the government servants and top officials, it also gives damage to low caste people and winter crops.

In the beginning of the year Jupiter will be retrograde in Gemini in Punarvasu Nakshatra which as per Bhavishya Phala Bhaskar is not good for cattle farmers. The production of milk may not be good during 2026 and milk prices are likely to rise during summer of 2026.

Rahu will be in Aquarius throughout 2026 which as per Varsha Prabodha can give rise in the prices of metals like copper, bronze etc. When Mars joins Rahu in transit in the Aquarius sign then prices of metals become costly. In the month of March 2026, the prices of metals and electronics items can be high due to Mars-Rahu conjunction in transit. The sale of vehicles will decline in 2026 due to an economic crisis because of the transit effects of Saturn in Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatra.

Transiting Jupiter will enter into Cancer sign on the 2nd of June which from its 9th aspect with influence Saturn transiting into watery sign Pisces. This will increase the production of the crude oil giving benefit to the countries like Russia, Venezuela etc. The prices of crude oil will also reduce in the second half of 2026 which will be beneficial for the Indian consumers as petrol and diesel will then become a bit cheaper. The production of milk will increase in the last quarter of year 2026 due to the transit of Jupiter from Cancer sign.

In the beginning of year 2026 there will be upheavals in the stock markets in India due to an adverse planetary configuration on the Full Moon Day of the 3rd of January. The conjunction of the Sun, Mars, Venus and Mercury in the 8th house from the Sign Taurus will be sensitive for the country. Taurus is the rising sign of India’s foundation horoscope (15th of August 1947, 00:00 hours at Delhi). The majority of planets in transiting influencing the 2/8 axis can give a sudden fall of stock market due to a political scandal, fall of government at the centre etc. The prices of precious metals like gold and silver will remain high in early 2026.

In the foundation horoscope of India (Chart 2) a difficult Vimshottari Dasha of Mars and Anter Dasha of Rahu will be running from 5th of February 2026 to 24th of February 2027. Mars is the lord of 7th house (war like situation) and 12th lord (espionage and foreign matters). Mars is placed in the 2nd house of state exchequer in Ardra Nakshatra of Rahu. In the Anter Dasha of Rahu some major terrorist activities, troubles in foreign relations can give upheavals in the stock markets. There will be more growth in the manufacturing sector as compare to the service industry where some job cuts are expected. The introduction of artificial intelligence may give major job losses in the IT sector in year 2026 in India at low and mid-levels jobs. Since Rahu’s depositor Saturn is in ‘Graha Yuddha’ and is also in her enemy sign so this Anter Dasha of Rahu in the Maha Dasha of Mars will be very challenging for the Indian economy particularly for the service sector affecting middle-class the most.

The first half of year 2026 will be very difficult for the USA economy. In the foundation horoscope of USA (chart 3) a difficult Vimshottari Dasha of Rahu Anter Dasha of Saturn and Pratyanter Dasha of Rahu is running from 6th of December 2025 to 12th of May 2026. The unemployment rate in USA in July 2025 is 4.2% which is likely to increase in first half of year 2026. There will be some public unrest against the policies of the President Trump government as the Hindu New Year chart of USA (18 March 2026, 21:23 hours at Washington DC) have 4 planets in the 6th house of strife. Some little improvement in USA economy will come only in the second half of year 2026.

In the foundation horoscope of Russia (Chart 4) a favourable Vimshottari Dasha period of Jupiter and Anter Dasha of Saturn from 2nd of April 2026 to 14th of October 2028 will allow this country to end war with Ukraine. Russia had invaded Ukraine in February 2022 and since then a destructive war has given losses on both the sides. Now the Anter Dasha of 5th lord Saturn will starts from the month of April 2026. Saturn as the 5th lord will promote diplomacy and both sides will be able to find a solution to implement a ceasefire any time after April 2026. Saturn is also the lord of Navamsha lagna which will give Russia success in the higher production of natural gas and crude oil resulting into some boost in her economy in the second half of 2026.

Germany has got its new Chancellor in May 2025 when Friedrich Merz sworn in at the helm of affairs leading a coalition government after the general elections. Germany is the largest economy of Europe but at present it is struggling due to Trump’s Tariff imposing policy. USA has imposed 15% Tariff on imports from Germany which has hit her automobile sector badly. The unemployment rate in Germany is about 6.3% as in August 2025  {Refer link – https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/german-unemployment-tops-three-million-first-time-decade-2025-08-29/ }.

In the foundation horoscope of Germany (chart 5) the Vimshottari Dasha of Mercury and the Anter Dasha of the Sun will be running from 5th of September 2025 to 13 July 2026. Mercury is functional malefic for the Cancer lagna chart of Germany and it is in the 8th house from her natal Moon which is in Aquarius. But now the Anter Dasha of the Sun shows some recovery in Germany’s economy as the Sun is the lord of the 2nd house in Rashi and 11th lord in Navamsha. In year 2026 Germany’s economy will show some improvements and unemployment rate will also reduce there to some extent.

China is the second largest economy of the world who’s GDP growth rate at present till the mid of 2025 is about 5.3% but the unemployment is also increasing due to losses in manufacturing sector due to high Tariff imposed by USA Trump administration. In the foundation horoscope of China (chart 6) Mercury Maha Dasha and Venus Anter Dasha is running from February 2023 to December 2025. The Anter Dasha lord Venus is afflicted by the aspects of two hard malefic planets Mars and Saturn. Thus, Venus Anter Dasha gave this country loss of reputation also because of her aggressive foreign policies and dealings with neighbouring countries.

Now the Anter Dasha of the Sun in the Maha Dasha of Mercury don’t show any significant improvement for China’s economy as the Sun being the 8th lord from the lagna is in the 9th house of foreign trade and there it is in conjunction with Gulika, Ketu and Mercury. What does astrology say about the rapid increase in the prices of gold and silver?

Due to the sluggish performance of the stock market and increasing uncertainty in global politics, investors have started investing heavily in gold and silver, which are considered relatively safe assets. The prices of gold and silver have been rising, particularly over the last year and a half, but silver prices have recently seen a significant surge. In the last month, the price of silver in India has increased from ₹2 lakh per kilogram to ₹3 lakh per kilogram in the bullion market. Investors are also rapidly investing in gold and silver funds (ETF). From the perspective of mundane astrology, Chapter 40, “Dravyanishchaya Adhyay,” of the 5th-century text Brihat Samhita, states that the Aries zodiac sign is associated with gold.

Among the planets, Jupiter and the Sun are considered indicators of gold. Silver is associated with Venus, and copper is among the elements ruled by planet Mars. Precious gems are associated with both Aquarius and Pisces signs as per Brihat Samhit’s Dravyanischaya Adhyay. Currently, the transit of Rahu is  in Aquarius and Saturn in Pisces is causing a slowdown in the diamond and precious gems trade. Jupiter is associated with all kinds of wealth, including gold and silver. From the Sun transit we can forecast monthly trends of the gold. 

Why investor’s are rushing towards silver ? 

According to the principles of mundane astrology, if Jupiter and the Sun are transiting in their debilitated or enemy signs, the prices of gold and silver may rise. However, if these two planets are transiting in their friendly or exalted signs, and are conjunct with or aspected by benefic planets, then the  prices of gold and silver may fall.

Lunar charts and Forecasting Trends of commodities

Chapter 41, Argha Kanda Adhyaya (Chapter on Price Fluctuations), of the Brihat Samhita states that the planetary positions and celestial phenomena occurring during the Full Moon, New Moon, and Solar ingress (Surya Sankranti) determine the rise and fall in the prices of commodities. This year, on the  January 3rd, the day of the Full Moon, when the US attacked Venezuela and captured its president, since then the price of silver has seen a sharp increase.

The wealth-giving planet Jupiter has been transiting in Gemini since May 14th of last year. The lord of Gemini sign  Mercury considers Jupiter its enemy. Due to Jupiter transiting into Gemini, the sign ruled by its enemy Mercury, the prices of gold and silver have been experiencing a significant surge.

 

Additionally, the price of gold is particularly influenced by the sign of Aries. If malefic planets Saturn and Mars are transiting in the 3rd, 6th, 10th, and 11th houses from Aries, the price of gold tends to rise less significantly. However, if Saturn or Mars transit in any other house besides these Upachaya houses from Aries, the price of gold may increase sharply. Currently, due to Saturn’s transit in Pisces, gold prices have been on an upward trend for the past year and a half. From April 2nd to May 11th, Mars will also be in Pisces, which will likely keep gold prices high. However, after Jupiter enters its exalted sign of Cancer on the 1st of June , the luster of gold and silver may diminish somewhat, and investors may shift their focus to other sectors.

 

During this period, there may be fluctuations in the prices of gold and silver.

 

Cancer is Jupiter’s exalted sign, where Jupiter, the benevolent planet, may cause a decrease in gold and silver prices after June 1st. In the latter half of 2015, gold prices remained low due to Jupiter’s transit in Cancer.

Gold is particularly influenced by the sign of Aries. With the transiting Jupiter moving to Cancer in the 4th house  position from Aries, gold prices may decrease somewhat after June 1st this year. Regarding silver, the surge in prices during March, when Venus transited in its exalted sign Pisces, may subside, but it will take some time for the market to fully stabilize in the matter of this precious white metal. Mars, the ruling planet of copper, will conjunct Rahu in Aquarius on February 23rd, which may lead to a rise in copper prices. According to Bhavishya Bhaskar, Rahu’s transit in Aquarius can bring about an upward trend in copper prices. Rahu in Aquarius may cause significant fluctuations in the copper market until September of this year.

Dwi-Janma lagna annual horoscopes of India and Pakistan (2025-26)

Annual horoscope or Varshaphal is constructed for a year when the Sun returns to the same sign and degrees as it was in its natal position. An annual horoscope can be cast for a nativity and also for a country or a political entity to study her fortunes for coming one year (12 months). The study of the rising sign and the Muntha (progressed lagna) in the annual horoscope is utmost important along with other Tajik Saham’s. Many senior astrologer’s studies the annual horoscope using Parashari rules only.

A small classical text in Hindi named ‘Varsha Yoga Samooha’ written by Pandit Jwala Prasad Mishra with Sanskrit Sloka’s on annual horoscopy is an example of the use of Parashari approach in the Varsha Kundali. My teacher Mr. K.N. Rao also recommend to  study the annual horoscope using Parashari Principals only avoiding Tajik aspects and Yoga’s in it.  As per him if the rising sign of the Janma lagna (birth chart ascendant sign) appears as the lagna of the annual horoscope, then that particular year is known as the ‘Dwi-Janma-Varsha’ which is very crucial period in the life of native. Depending upon the running Dasha  the ‘Dwi-Janma-Varsha’ year can be extremely good or bad.

Interestingly both India and Pakistan are having a ‘Dwi-Janma-Varsha’ in their respective annual horoscopes currently. Since August 2025 some important events have happened in the both nations. In a terrorist attack on the November 10th , 2025 a car exploded near Red Fort in Delhi killing at least 15 people and injuring more than 20 {Refer link – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_Delhi_car_explosion}. This was the biggest terrorist attack in Delhi since September 7th , 2011 Hight Court Bomb Blast which had then  killed 15 people and left 79 injured {Refer – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Delhi_bombing}. Thus, after more than one decade India’s capital Delhi had come under the major terrorist attack sponsor by Pakistan which has suffered badly in the recent operation ‘Sindoor’ by the Indian Air Force in May 2025.

In Pakistan a suicide attack in Capital Islamabad on the November 11th , 2025 had killed 12 and injured 36. The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had taken its responsibility {Refer link – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_Islamabad_suicide_bombing}. Pakistan also had troubles at its western border with Afghanistan recently when the ruling Taliban attacked multiple Pakistani military post in the first fortnight of October 2025. Now let’s study the annual horoscopes of both India and Pakistan along with their foundation horoscopes.

In the Taurus lagna  foundation horoscope of India (chart 1) a Maha Dasha  of 7th (war) and 12th (losses and espionage) lord Mars is running from September 9th, 2025 to September 9th, 2032. As per the rules of mundane astrology the Maha Dasha  of 7th lord is sensitive for a country as this house specifically rules a war or war like situation  and foreign relations. If we go by the Parashari rules then 7th lord is a Maraka (killer) planet and if it is placed in the 2nd house, which is another Maraka Bhava, then it becomes a bit more dangerous for the safety.

In the foundation horoscope of India (chart 1) Mars is placed in its enemy sign Gemini in the 2nd house. Mars is along with Gulika and it is in the Ardra Nakshatra ruled by Rahu. Now the Anter Dasha  of Rahu in the Maha Dasha  of Mars from February 5th, 2026 to February 24th, 2027 is likely to be very sensitive for the country. In the Book Hindu Predictive Astrology by Dr. B.V. Raman in Chapter number XXXI named Mundane Astrology it has been mentioned that the 7th house rules ‘health of women, immorality in the country, rate of infant mortality, war, foreign relations etc.’ As per Dr. Raman the 2nd house in mundane astrology signifies, ‘state revenue, aristocracies in the state, wealth of people, revenue, state imports and commercial transaction etc.

Immorality and Sex crime will increase in India

Since the Dasha  lord Mars is in its enemy sign Gemini and it is making a bad 2/12 relations with the Anter Dasha  lord Rahu so this period could be crucial for the country in year 2026 for the safety of women, sex crimes, terrorist attacks and a war like situation. Noticeable point is that the depositor of Rahu is Venus, a feminine planet,  which as the lagna lord is in ‘Graha Yuddha’ with natural malefic Saturn in its enemy sign Cancer making a bad yoga for women’s safety in the country. A major sex scandal can’t be ruled out during this Mars Dasha  and Rahu Anter Dasha  mentioned above. Rahu is in the 12th house in Navamsha  and in Dasmasa it is in the 12th house also getting the 7th aspect of Mars which also indicate downfall of a national leader of the ruling party at the center in controversial circumstances.

In the Annual horoscope of India for completed year 78 (chart 2) the Taurus lagna is rising which is same as her Janma lagna (chart 1). Thus, it is a “Dwi-Janma-Varsha” for India and its period from August 2025 to August 2026 would be highly sensitive as running Vimshottari Dasha  period of Mars and the Anter Dasha  of Rahu is of hard malefic planets only. In the annual horoscope Muntha (progressed lagna) is in the 7th house of war. Muntha lord Mars is in mutual aspect with Saturn which is a natural malefic planet. Both Mars and Saturn aspect the 8th house of mass deaths. But the saving grace is the aspect of Venus and Jupiter on the 8th house.

In Yogini Dasha  the Dasha  of Bhramari ruled by Mars and Anter Dasha   of Siddha ruled by Jupiter will be running from February 19th, 2026 to June 21st 2026 in the foundation horoscope of India (chart 1) will be dangerous when a major terror attack and war like situation at the border can occur. Mars is the lord of 7th house in foundation chart of India and Jupiter as the 8th lord (mass deaths) is placed in the 6th house (conflicts) is a functional malefic. In Yogini Dasha  the mutual Dasha  Anter Dasha ’s  of Mars and Jupiter are not good for India from February 2026 to June 2026. Tensions in West Bengal and Assam , the two border states with Bangla Desh will give troubles to the central government.

In the foundation horoscope of Pakistan (chart 3) the Aries ascendant is rising and the country is undergoing the Vimshottari Dasha  of Venus from December 2007 to December 2027. During this Maha Dasha  of 7th lord (war) Venus involve in a ‘Graha Yuddha’ with natural malefic Saturn the country has suffered from many terrorist attacks which is the result of her policy of promoting  radical Islamization since the era of  Zia-ul-Haq in 1980’s. As per the available data the terrorist attacks have increased in Pakistan since 2006 , and the  year 2009 was the worst.  In 2009, the worst of any year, 2,586 terrorist, insurgent and sectarian-related incidents were reported, killing 3,021 people and injured 7,334, according to the “Pakistan Security Report 2009” published by PIPS {Refer link – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrorist_incidents_in_Pakistan_since_2001}.

In the ongoing Maha Dasha  of the 7th lord Maraka Venus Pakistan has suffered lots of civilian causalities due to her policy of harbouring and nurturing terrorist outfits,  which it used as a tactical weapon first in the Afghanistan war during 1980’s to help USA in droving away Soviets army , and then across  her eastern borders in  Punjab and Kashmir to destabilized India. In Venus Maha Dasha  the Anter Dasha  of 3rd (border clashes) and 6th lord (conflicts) Mercury is running from December 2023 to October 2026. Mercury as the 3rd lord is involve in a bad Rashi Parivartana Yoga with the 4th lord (land and resources) the Moon. The Moon as the 4th lord is with Mars and Gulika which is highly inauspicious.

In the remaining Anter Dasha  of Mercury Pakistan may suffer more losses at her borders with Afghanistan and also from India in military clashes.

The annual horoscope for Pakistan for completed year 78 (chart 4) is also not good. Here we have Aries sign rising making it a ‘Dwi-Janma-Varsha’ for Pakistan. The Muntha (progressed lagna) is in the 7th house of war but since it gets the aspect of the 9th lord Jupiter so there is a saving grace also. There will be no danger of a full-scale war but only some border clashes will give troubles to the Pakistan. The lagna and 8th lord Mars is in the 6th house in mutual aspect with 10th and 11th lord Saturn which is not good. The lord of the 10th house (government) Saturn along with the 4th lord (national assets and land) the Moon is falling in the 12th house of losses, and they are in mutual aspect with natural malefic Mars showing a violent attack on a very important leader of the country.

In Yogini Dasha  period Bhramari ruled by Mars and Anter Dasha  of Siddha ruled by Venus would be running in the foundation horoscope of Pakistan (chart 3) from May 25th, 2026  to February 19th, 2027. Mars is giving aspect to the 10th house in Rashi , Navamsha  and Dasha masa is showing the growing influence of military in Pakistan as Army General Asim Munir has been given some unpresented powers as the Field Marshal rank was conferred on him on the May 20th, 2025. The Anter Dasha  of Siddha ruled by Venus is also not good as Venus being a “Maraka” planet in Pakistan’s foundation chart (chart 3) is in planetary war with malefic Saturn. Venus is hemmed between natural malefic planets in Navamsha  and it has become the 7th lord (war) in Dasha masa.

Thus, some border clashes between India and Pakistan can’t be ruled out in year 2026 also as per the study of their foundation charts and the annual horoscopes given above. Political instability and scandals will also trouble the ruling elites of both the countries as in the annual horoscope the Muntha is badly placed in the 7th house of war and sex scandals.

 

 

 

 

Transit Rahu in Aquarius and Danger for Iran

Anti-government protests, which began in Shia-majority Iran on December 28th of last year, have now escalated, and according to reports, more than 3000 people have been killed and over 20,000 protesters have been arrested. This is the most violent mass movement in Iran since the Islamic Revolution of 1979. In January 1979, the then pro-American Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was forced to abdicate his throne and seek refuge in Egypt  following a violent mass uprising in the country. After this Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini became the Supreme Leader of the country. From an astrological perspective, during the Iranian Islamic Revolution of 1978-79, Rahu was transiting in Leo and Ketu was in Aquarius then. 

Currently, when violent mass movements are again taking place in Iran, Rahu is transiting in Aquarius and Ketu in Leo, afflicting the Aquarius-Leo axis. Aquarius is considered the sign associated with religious matters or places of worship. The affliction of Aquarius will intensify further when Mars conjuncts Rahu in this sign from February 23rd to April 1st, forming the Angaraka Yoga.

In Iran’s foundation chart, the current period is Jupiter’s Mahadasha and Rahu’s Antardasha. This  period of Jupiter-Rahu in Vimshottari is from June 10, 2025, to November 4, 2027, is currently underway. The Mahadasha lord, Jupiter, is the lord of the ninth house (religion)  and is situated in the ascendant in its exalted sign, Cancer. Iran is an Islamic republic and a religious autocracy.  However, the Antardasha lord, Rahu, is forming an inauspicious 2/12 relationship with Jupiter, creating a yoga for financial loss in Iran’s horoscope. In transit, the Mahadasha lord, Jupiter, is in Gemini, transiting through the twelfth house of loss, which could lead to a change of power in Iran by June of this year. Mars, in transit from January 15 to February 23, is in the seventh house of war in Capricorn, which could create a situation of war in Iran due to US military intervention. 

The transiting Saturn is in Pisces at present which has influence the 10th (government) and 5th lord (minister post) Mars, 12th lord (loss of power) Mercury and the 2nd lord (state exchequer) the Sun. This transit of Saturn over these three planets is giving an inauspicious results to Iran.

As per the Jaimini system the Chara Dasha of Capricorn-Leo is unfavorable for Iran from November 2025 to May 2026. Capricorn is the 7th house of war. The Amatayakaraka Saturn falls in the 8th house from Capricorn along with Rahu in the Anter Dasha Rashi Leo which is not good for the ruler of the country Ali Khamenie.

As per the Vimshottari system the Jupiter Dasha Rahu Anter Dasha and Saturn Pratyanter Dasha from 14th of February 2026 to 3rd of July 2026 will be the most critical period for Iran when Ali Khamenie regime can fall.

Horoscope of Reza Pahlavi – Watch him rise !

After the death of Iran’s last king Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, in Cairo, Egypt, in 1980, following his exile from the country, his eldest son, Reza Pahlavi, moved to the United States. In the US, Reza Pahlavi works to unite pro-Shah groups and support movements against the Khamenei government in his homeland, Iran. Reza Pahlavi’s birth chart is based on a birth time of 11:50 AM on October 31, 1960, in Tehran, Iran, with Sagittarius rising. In this Sagittarius ascendant chart, the presence of the lord of the second house (wealth)  Saturn, and the lord of the lagna, Jupiter, in the ascendant creates a powerful wealth-generating Dhana yoga.

This yoga is further strengthened by the aspect of Mars, the lord of the fifth house, from the seventh house, forming a Raj Yoga (royal combination). The mutual aspect between the lagna and 4th lord (throne of ruler) Jupiter and the 5th lord (minister post) Mars is a good Raja Yoga here.  However, Rahu is situated in the ninth house of fortune and father, and the lord of the ninth house, the Sun, is debilitated in Libra, making it somewhat weak. Due to the influence of this combination, he had to leave his country, Iran, along with his father. Coincidentally, at the time of his exile in January 1979, Rahu was transiting the ninth house (father) in Reza Pahlavi’s birth chart. Now, as there are again signs of a major revolution in Iran, Rahu is in Aquarius, and Ketu is transiting over the natal Rahu in his ninth house.

Also, a noticeable point here is the placement of Gulika sign lord Saturn in the lagna along with the lagna lord which is a Arishta Yoga. As per the classical text of Hindu astrology the Gulika sign lord is consider inauspicious planet in a horoscope. 

Favorable Moon Maha Dasha

In Reza Pahlavi’s chart the Maha Dasha of 8th lord (legacy) the Moon has started from September 2025. The Moon as the 8th lord is sitting in the 4th house of mother-land and it is in good Gaja Kesari Yoga as Jupiter is in the 10th house from it. In Navamsha (D-9)  the Scorpio sign rise where the 9th lord the Moon is in good Raja Yoga as it is in mutual aspect with the 10th lord the Sun. In Dashamasha (D-10) the Moon as the 12th lord is in the 6th house is showing change of the place of work,  but since it is with the 10th lord Venus and 4th lord (mother-land) Mars so it will be favorable for him. In Chathurthamsha (D-4) the Moon as the 11th lord (gains)  is strongly placed in the 7th house (Pada Prapti) along with the 4th lord (mother -land) Jupiter which is very good.

Between June 2026 and June 2027, with Jupiter transiting through Cancer, Reza Pahlavi may return to Iran. During the Vimshottari Dasha of the Moon, which is situated in the fourth house of the throne, Reza Pahlavi could overthrow the government in Iran and end the rule of Ali Khamenei. After Jupiter enters Cancer in transit, oil production in Iran will increase, and the economic sanctions imposed on the country may also be lifted. India could benefit from importing cheaper crude oil from Iran between June 2026 and June 2027, potentially leading to lower petrol and diesel prices in the country. 

The transiting Saturn from Pisces is on the natal Moon of Reza Pahlavi which is a crucial period of “Sadhe-Sati” for him. This can give him political power as the Vimshottari Dasha is good at present. As per the Jaimini system the Chara Dasha of Sagittarius is running from October 2023 to October 2035. Amatayakaraka Mars giving aspect to Sagittarius is also favorable for Reza Pahalvi to give him position of importance in the politics of his country.
