In year 2026 India will be going through major electoral reforms as the second phase of special intensive revision of voter lists (SIR) is underway in the 9 states and 3 union territories. However, after the unprecedented results of Bihar assembly elections, the state which underwent SIR in the June-July months of 2025, the opposition parties are opposing this exercise of the Election Commission of India. The opposition parties have alleged the voter list manipulation have been done to favor the ruling BJP at the center. The Hindu New Year horoscope of 2026 (Pisces New Moon chart) indicates astrologically that there will be a major conflict on the issue of SIR and the electoral reforms in the country in year 2026.

Chart 1. Hindu New Year 2026 for India
The Chaitra Shukla Pratipada or Pisces New Moon will be on 19th of March 2026 at 06:53:16 hours at Delhi as per the Indian standard time. The Pisces New Moon is on Thursday ruled by Jupiter. As per the Varsha Prabodha if Jupiter be the king of the Hindu New Year, ‘then the rain shall be useful for the farmers, there will be good production of milk, priest are happily engaged in religious rituals, and there shall be major celebration in the country’.
On the day of the Sun’s entry into Aries (14 April 2026, 09:32 a.m. at Delhi) the day will be Tuesday ruled by Mars as per the Hindu system. Thus, Mars become the minister of the year. As per the Varsha Prabodha when Mars is the minister of the year then there shall be outbreak of many diseases which gives troubles to the people in general.
Difficult year for farmer’s : In the Hindu New Year chart of India (chart 1) Jupiter is placed in the 4th house in its enemy sign Gemini but its aspect its own sign Sagittarius which falls in the 10th. Since the 4th house is to be seen for the farmers, agriculture and land related matters so some important changes in this sector is foreseen. The lord of the 4th house is Mercury which is in a degree conjunction with Rahu a natural malefic planet. Despite having good amount of rainfall there shall be troubles for the farmers because of unequal distribution of the rain and bad policies of the ruling governments. The menace of pests may trouble the livestock’s and crops of farmers in the months of March-April in 2026.
In Navamsha of the Hindu New Year (chart 1) the 4th lord falls in the 12th house of losses and is in mutual aspect with natural malefic Mars which shows discontent among the farmers in many parts of the countries. But since natural benefic planets are placed in the 4th house in Rashi and Navamsha of Hindu New Year so there will not be any major farmer’s protest like it had happened in year 2020-21 earlier. The government may also bring a new agriculture policy in year 2026.
Production of milk and water related products will gain:
A very important point to note in the Hindu New Year chart is the placement of Jupiter and Venus in mutual Kendra (square) in Rashi, Navamsha and Dashamasa charts in close degrees. Milk productions are to be seen from Taurus sign from where these planets are strongly placed. Thus, milk producers will get benefited during March 2026 to March 2027 as per this Hindu New Year chart. Because of the strong Venus in the Hindu New Year chart the fisherman and farmers who produce water related products will also get good benefic in year 2026-27 because of positive government policies in this area.
Border Clashes and Terrorist Attacks foreseen:
In the Chaitra Shukla Pratipada or Hindu New Year chart the 3rd house has Gulika which get the 3rd aspect by malefic Saturn and the 4th aspect of Mars. The 3rd house in mundane astrology signifies armed forces and also border clashes with neighboring countries.

The 7th house of war like situation is also not good as it gets the 7th aspect of natural malefic Saturn and also 8th aspect of Mars. The only saving grace is the 9th aspect of Jupiter on Mercury-Rahu-Mars combination which will prevent a big war in any case. But a war like situation with Pakistan can’t be ruled out in year 2026.
There will be some terror attacks in prominent cities of the country in the summer of 2026 and also in the last quarter of 2026. There will also be some tensions at India-Bangladesh Border.
Public Protests and communal tensions foreseen:
In the Hindu New Year horoscope, the lord of the 6th house (strife and public protest) the Sun is in the lagna. The 6th house has Ketu in the Rashi chart and it get the aspect by Mars and also Mercury. In Navamsha Mars is in the 6th house in mutual aspect with Saturn which is also not good. Thus, public protest for labour reforms, against electoral malpractices and on communal issues will trouble the government. These protest movement’s will start right from the onset of Hindu New Year in March and will continue in different parts of the country on various occasions till the end of year 2026.
Mars in Leo – Danger from November 2026 to February 2027
On the 12th of November 2026 transit Mars will enter into Leo sign and will form a close degree conjunction with Ketu and Jupiter already transiting there in Magha Nakshatra. This yoga will be ominous for the stock markets and stability of the central government also. The stock markets will be volatile in November-December 2026, and many investors may suffer major losses. There will also be some public transport accidents and terrorist activities in the months of November 2026 to January 2027.
Chart 2. Foundation Horoscope of India
In the foundation horoscope of India (chart 2) the Vimshottari Dasha of Mars and Anter Dasha of Rahu will be running from 5th of February 2026 to 24th of February 2027, which can be a volatile period for the center government. Mars as the 7th (war like situation) and 12th (losses and scandals) lord is in the Nakshatra of Rahu in Ardra, and it is in the 2nd house (state exchequer) in its enemy sign Gemini with gets only 19 points in Sarvashtakavarga. The Maha Dasha of Mars and Anter Dasha of malefic Rahu can bring changes in the central government at the highest levels after some controversies and scandals.
Chart 3. Foundation Horoscope of Election Commission of India
In the foundation horoscope of Election Commission of India (chart 3) the Libra sign is rising and the Moon is in Pisces. The Maha Dasha of 3rd and 6th lord, functional malefic, Jupiter is running in the horoscope of the Election Commission since 18th of July 2023. This constitutional body is under sever attack from the opposition parties since the end of 2024 when unexpectedly the ruling BJP had won Haryana and Maharashtra assembly polls. The transiting Saturn from Pisces is hovering over the natal Moon and Rahu in the horoscope of Election Commission of India (chart 3). This constitution body will face more testing time and in the year 2026 its credibility will be the lowest in her history. Jupiter-Saturn-Ketu in Vimshottari from 9th of June 2026 to 8th of August 2026 may expose the Election Commission of India with some sensational scandal.
