In the last week of January Priyanka Gandhi’s appointment as general sectary of Congress party was in the headlines of the Indian media which termed it as an official entry of another Gandhi scion into politics. Priyanka though was campaigning for Congress party even before her elder brother Rahul entered the political scene in his constituency Amethi. Rahul Gandhi was handed over the Congress Party President post more recently by her mother Sonia Gandhi in December 2017. Now with Priyanka Gandhi doing politics full time has sparked-off a debate if she going to eclipse her brother Rahul who will be aiming for prime minister’s chair in the second consecutive general elections? Has Priyanka’s horoscope is strong enough to challenge the due of Modi and Shah who are dominating the political scene since last 5 years?

Balance of Dasha in Vimshottari: Saturn 8 years 1 months and 28 days

In the Gemini lagna horoscope of Priyanka Gandhi the conjunction of Sun-Jupiter is a good Raja Lakshan Yoga. As per my teacher Shri  K.N. Rao the Sun-Jupiter conjunction or their  mutual aspect gives one royal and aristocratic personality. This yoga can make one very elegant politician if other Raja Yoga’s are present in the horoscope. Apart from this Saturn-Moon conjunction or their mutual aspect is also a yoga which gives popularity in public life. Any of these two yogas mentions above if present in Rashi, Navamsha and Dashamasha in some form or the other  can give a native good political career. Such person have charismatic personality and they are born leaders. Priyanka Gandhi has both these yogas present in her chart. Apart from these above mentions yogas the Kshatriya planets Sun and Mars influencing lagna, Moon, 5th house and/or 9th house also gives political career. In the horoscope of Priyanka Gandhi the Sun and Mars are giving aspect to her Janma lagna.

Jaimini  Yoga’s in Priyanka Gandhi’s horoscope

As per Jaimini system Priyanka Gandhi’s Atamakaraka is Sun which is vargottama in Sagittarius the sign of royal emblems. In Karakamsha, which is Sagittarius, Priyanka has Sun, Jupiter and Mercury getting the aspect of Mars. Sun is Atamakaraka and Mars is Amatayakaraka here making a good Jaimini Raja Yoga.  In Navamsha they are in conjunction which is excellent. But Priyanka has malefics Rahu and Mars in the 2nd and 4th house respectively from her Karakamsha lagna Sagittarius which is not good. A debliteated Moon giving Jaimini aspects to the Rahu in the 2nd house from Karakamsha is a bad yoga for family and marriage. Her husband is a source of humiliation for her political image.

Tragic Death of Father Rajive Gandhi

Priyanka Gandhi’s father and former prime minister Rajive Gandhi died on 21 May 1991 in a tragic suicide bomb blast. Priyanka was then running with Mercury-Rahu ( September 1989 to March 1992) in Vimshottari. Rahu is in the 8^th house of mourning in the Rashi chart. Rahu is in the 2^nd house from Sun in Rashi chart and in Dwadamsha it is in the 7^th house from Sun thus it become a Maraka for father in both charts. Notice here the weak 9^th house from both lagna and Moon in Priyanka’s horoscope. In Rashi the 9^th house has Venus the 5^th lord which shows her charismatic father but it is in ‘Paap-Kartari’ yoga. Rahu and Mars are flaking  the 9^th house of Priyanka. The 9^th house from Moon has Ketu getting the bad aspect of Saturn.

In Dwadamsha the 9^th house is in ‘Paap-Kartari’ and the 8^th house having Mars under the aspect of Saturn shows the tragic end of her father.

Unconventional  Marriage of Priyanka

Priyanka Gandhi got married on 18 February 1997 with Robert Vadra who was a small businessman then. Robert Vadra belong to a Punjabi family which originate from Sialkot Pakistan as his  father moved to India at the time of partition. Their marriage surprised many as Robert, unlike Priyanka, is not good-looking and was just a small trader from Moradabad in UP. Priyanka was under Mercury-Saturn then in Vimshottari ( July 1994 to March 1997) at the time of her marriage. Mercury is in the 7^th house in Rashi chart. Saturn as the 9^th lord is in 12^th house a ‘Bhog-Sthan’ of bed pleasures. Saturn is in the 7^th house from her Moon showing this unconventional marriage. Saturn, signifying low income group people, is in the 7^th from Moon and aspect the 7^th lord from Moon which is Venus here.

Although Priyanka has Sun-Jupiter and Mercury in the 7^th house in Rashi chart. But her 7^th lord Jupiter is afflicted with Rahu in the Navamsha chart and get the aspect of Saturn. Her Upapada is Scorpio which has a  debilitated (Neecha ) Moon in it. Rahu is giving Jaimini aspect to her Upapada. This again confirm her marriage with a person having humble background and a suspicious character.

In the subsequent maha dasha of Ketu ( March 1997 to March 2004) Priyanka gave birth to two children. Ketu is in the 2^nd house getting the aspect of 9^th lord Saturn in Rashi chart. The 9^th house is the 5^th from the 5^th house can give birth of children. Keu in Saptamasha is in the 6^th house but its depositor is Jupiter there which is in associated with 5^th lord Saturn.

Venus Dasha and Raja Yoga for Mother

Venus as the 5^th lord in Gemini lagna chart of Priyanka is well placed in the 9^th house of luck. It is getting the aspect of 9^th lord Saturn from the 12^th house. Venus dasha started in March 2004 and it gave political power to her mother Sonia Gandhi who then led Congress to a victory in general elections. In the first 10 years of Venus dasha in the chart of Priyanka her mother enjoyed a Raja Yoga as she was running the government of country using Manmohan Singh as pupped prime minister. Sonia Gandhi was then the de-facto ruler of the country. See the strong Venus in the lagan of Dwadamsha. The Dwadamsha is the chart for parents. It is no surprise that her mother enjoyed a Raja Yoga during the dasha of Venus.

Enigmatic Venus-Rahu dasha and fall of her mother 

Venus-Rahu and Rahu-Venus periods in Vimshottari are the most enigmatic as it can produce quite surprise results. In case of Priyanka Gandhi Venus-Rahu period from May 2011 to May 2014 led to the fall of her mother Sonia Gandhi. Her mother not only had serious health issues during this period but it also made her government very unpopular because of various scams. Remember Sonia Gandhi visiting USA secretly for her treatment during 2011-2014. It was rumored in political circle of Delhi that she had gone through some surgery for cancer. The Congress party suffered humiliating election defeats in 2013-2014 at times when Venus-Rahu was running in Priyanka Gandhi’s chart. She was also undergoing a ‘Sadhe-Sati’ as Saturn was transiting from Libra then.

Rahu is in the 12^th house from Venus and it is in the 8^th house from Priyanka’s Janma lagna. In Dwadamsha it is in the 4^th house of mother. In Dashamsha it is in the lagna afflicted Jupiter there and the aspect of Saturn is also over it adding to the misery.

In Dreshkkan Rahu is with Saturn showing a setback for her brother Rahul Gandhi. In the leadership of Rahul Congress party was decimated to just 44 seats in Lok Sabha which is its worst performance since Independence of India. Notice the aspects of Saturn and Mars on the lagna of Dreshkkan showing the struggle her brother has to face in his career.

Why Priyanka came so late into politics?  

It is now in the dasha of Venus-Saturn ( January 2017 to March 2020) that Priyanka Gandhi has decided to enter officially into politics. Venus as the lord of her Saptamsha lagna shows that earlier because of her children she did not spare much time for politics. The dasha of planet ruling the lagna of Saptamsha gives concern for children. Venus is the lord of 5^th house in Rashi chart and in Saptamsha it is the lagna lord there placed in the 5^th house of children. So astrologically it is amply clear that she must be very devoted mother who because of her children did not entered the politics earlier though knowing very well that she could have easily got more limelight than her brother Rahul who lack charisma and intellect.

Now it is Venus-Saturn in Vimshottari till March 2020. At the time of general elections in May 2019 Priyanka would be under Venus-Saturn-Rahu in Vimshottari. The Venus and Saturn are in a bad exchange as the exchange of 12^th and 9^th lords is not very good. Rahu the sub-sub period lord is in the 8^th house of disappointment. So in the general elections in 2019 she can only get contented to give Congress the role of a strong opposition party.

Neecha Rashi Moon a big weakness

Moon as the 2^nd lord a Maraka is in the 6^th house of diseases. It is debilitated in the horoscope of Priyanka and is getting the aspect of Saturn. Moon in the sign of Mars getting the aspect of Saturn shows addition of liquor. It  also shows her interest in meditation and yoga. But her Janma lagna is in ‘Paap-Kartari’ yoga as Ketu and Saturn, two hard malefic planets, are flaking her lagna. These are the two big weakness of her chart which will keep giving her trouble until her Sun maha dasha comes in 2024. Although there is a ‘Neecha-Bhanga’ for this Moon as its sign lord Mars is in Kendra from lagna. But since Moon is getting the bad aspect of a retrograde Saturn so this ‘Neecha-Bhanga’ is not very effective. Moreover, Moon is Maraka for Mithuna lagna and is afflicted in the 6th house of disease.

Bright political future for Priyanka

The upcoming Vimshottari dasha of Venus-Mercury from March 2020 to January 2023 shows better prospects for Priyanka Gandhi. Later the maha dasha of Sun from March 2024 to March 2030 shows more bright future for her in politics. Sun is involve in good ‘Raja Lakshan’ yoga in Priyanka’s chart. It is the lord of 3^rd house showing success with the help of brother. Sun is the 10^th lord from Moon which will give her political power. Sun is in the 7^th house of Dreshkkan showing rise of her brother then. In Dashamsha Sun is in the 10^th house of power will make her one of the most popular figures in Indian politics during March 2024 to March 2030.
