Mars-Ketu conjunction, eclipse point and danger of an earthquake

December 9, 2016 By Sachin Malhotra

The transit of Mars has very important significations in making predictions in Mundane astrology (Medini Jyotish). In Vedic astrology Mars is consider as the karaka planet for courage, bravery, energy and passion apart from many of its other signification. Its transit from various houses in the chart of a country is closely observer for making predictions of the national events. The transit of Mars become particularly more important when it join or aspect an eclipse point.

The eclipse points in mundane astrology are the signs occupied by Sun and Moon at the time of solar and lunar eclipses in a particular year. The transit of Mars over these eclipses points hold importance and is watched very carefully. In the horoscope of a country and of important persons  the point of eclipse is marked to forewarn about coming events. It has been observed that Mars transiting over the solar eclipse point can trigger very enigmatic events and tragedies.

This year two solar eclipses had occurred; one in Aquarius on 8-9 March and other in Leo on the 1st of September in Leo. Now the transiting Mars joining the Ketu is going to ignite these eclipse points. Since Mars is in square with malefic Saturn and is devoid of any benefic aspect or conjunction so it can give very bad results. The Mars is well known to give its results in the first Dreshkkana i.e. from 0 to 10 degrees of a Rashi during its transit.

The Mars will enter into Aquarius on the 12th of December and it will remain in the first Dreshkkana till 24th of the month. Later after couple of days it will form a degree conjunction with Ketu which would be in Aquarius around 12 degrees. So the 2nd fortnight of December should be watched very carefully. It can trigger events such as political violence, earthquakes, fire accidents and air crash. As per the Koorma Chara these events can take place in the north-west and west direction. The transiting Saturn in Jyeshtha indicates the west direction and the Mars in Dhanishta signifies the north-west.

Full Moon Chart

14 December 2016, 5 hours and 36 minutes at Delhi

full-moon-chart-16-december-2016

navamsha-full-moon-16-december-2016

In the Full Moon chart of 14th December the Scorpio sign is rising which is the 7th house (violence) of the foundation chart of India. The 7th house rising in the Full Moon chart indicates political violence and border clashes during the second fortnight of December.

Political Violence and Border Clashes

The central government will face strife from the opposition parties and anti social elements in the country which may ignite general public to attack banks and financial institution or to stage protest against the problem they are facing due to recent demonetization.

At the border areas of Jammu & Kashmir there will be lots of skirmishes between Indian and Pakistani army. There could also be a terrorist attack on the arm forces during this fortnight.

Earthquake predictions

The malefic in square devoid of any benefic association shows a danger of an earthquake which can hit the north-west direction of India and Pakistan. This earthquake can give lots of losses to human life and properties before the dawn of new year.

Air Crash and Fire Accident

Since Mars-Ketu conjunction is afflicting an airy sign Aquarius so there is a possibility of an air accident and a fire incident resulting in the west direction.

Solar Eclipse, Earthquake and Koorma Chakra

August 11, 2016 By Sachin Malhotra

Predicting earthquakes and natural disasters had always been a dark area in astrology. The classics of Medini Jyotish (Mundane Astrology)  like Brihat Samhita, Adhabut Sagar, Bhadra Bahu Samhita, Mayur Chitram etc. have given few hints on this subject. But there is no mention of any clear methodology which one can use to forecast earthquakes with probable dates and locations. As per sage Garga the earthquakes usually comes near New Moon and Full Moon. The occurrences of  strong earthquakes have also been observed near solar and lunar eclipses.

The ruling sings of the countries given by Ptolemy, who is considered as father of the Western Astrology, are also considered to locate the probable direction of the earthquake. But this method of locating the direction on the basis of zodiacal signs doesn’t work with good consistency. Instead of this we can use the ancient method of Koorma Chakra given in the ‘Vishnu Purana’ and Brihat Samhita of Varahamihira. The Koorma Chakra can be applied on the geography of a county or on the world map. By placing the transiting planets in their respective Nakshatra’s in Koorma Chakra we can foresee the probable direction where good or bad events might happen.

In this small write-up I am discussing the Koorma Chakra cast for the day of solar eclipse of 1st of September 2016. This annular solar eclipse is likely to be very crucial as it may trigger a strong earthquake, tsunami and/or volcano eruptions at many places in the word. The Saturn-Mars conjunction in Scorpio, at the time of solar eclipse, and the close degrees aspect of Saturn on the luminaries is a deadly combination of natural calamities. I have mention these predictions in an article send to the editor of The Planets & Forecast Magazine which would appear in the September 2016 issue.

Annular Solar Eclipse

1 September 2016 at 14:32 hours at Delhi

Solar eclipse 1 September 2016 Rashi Chart

See the close degree aspect of Saturn on the Sun and Moon at the time of eclipse. As per Brihat Samhita if the malefic planets aspect or conjoined with luminaries at the time of an eclipse then it brings war and natural calamities. In the horoscope of solar eclipse of 1st September the planetary configuration is such that it will bring lots of earthquakes around the world. The presence of Jupiter, Venus and Mercury in earthy sign is one such combination. The conjunction of Mars and Saturn is Scorpio is specifically bad for North India specially the Delhi-NCR region. There are chances of strong tremors between 23rd of August to 7th of September around many parts of the world. The specific areas could be in the Himalayan region of India and Pakistan signified by Scorpio. The earthquakes are also expected in the countries of  south-east direction signified by Koorma Chakra.

Koorma Chakra 1 September 2016

In the Koorma Chakra the luminaries (Sun and Moon) and Rahu are in the south-east direction. They are in Purva Phalguni Nakshatra which falls in the south-east direction of  this Chakra. The Philippines, Indonesia, China etc. will have the risk of strong earthquake and tsunami during the last week of August or in the month of September.

Also notice three benefic planets Jupiter, Venus and Mercury falling in the south direction in the Koorma Chakra. They give an indication of heavy rains,   and landslides in countries of south-America like Peru, Chile or Ecuador. However, it is difficult to locate the exact direction of the occurrence of an earthquake or natural calamities but a general indication can be given by the study of Koorma Chakra.

Apart from an earthquake there will also be menace of heavy rain and a cyclone in the south and south-east direction of India. The states like Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Tamil Nadu will get very heavy rainfall immediately after the annular solar eclipse of 1st of September. The concentration of planets in Virgo sign specifically signifies the south direction.

The late Shri B.V. Raman use to take Virgo as the zodiacal sign of India. If you notice the Nakshatra’s falling in the south direction of the Koorma Chakra you will find that Hasta and Chitra over there which comes in the Virgo sign. Some senior astrologers consider the Capricorn (Makar) as the zodiacal sign of India. This also comes from the Koorma Chakra as the Nakshatra falling in the Capricorn rashi ( Uttarashada, Sravana and Dhanishta) is located in the north-west part of this chakra. This is how Koorma Chakra has been used since centuries by Hindu astrologers for their predictions of Mundane astrology.

South-West Monsoon fury in India

July 30, 2016 By Sachin Malhotra

Almost half of the country is reeling under the fury of devastating rain in July month during the ongoing  south-west monsoon season. The monsoon express started with a delay of almost 5 days and it was till 21st of June that most part of the country were under the grip of severe drought. After the Sun entered into Ardra Nakshatra the south-west monsoon pic up the speed. But till the end of June month the country was having 11% of deficient rainfall. But things changed very quickly in the first week of July as Mars had now moved into direct motion.

In July first week the central India witness extremely heavy rainfall and devastating flood. In Madhya Pradesha there was 27% excess rainfall during the first week of July.

Now see the Ardra Pravesh chart to understand how the drought stricken area till the June 21 are now receiving good rainfall with the blessing from the heavens.

Sun’s entry into Ardra Nakshatra

21 June 2016, 23:01 hours Delhi

Horoscope of Ardra Pravesh 2016

Some important features of Ardra Pravesh chart which indicated good rainfall.

  1. The Sun entered into Ardra Nakshara in the Shukla Paksha a day before full Moon which is good.
  2. The Sun’s entry into the Ardra Nakshatra was during the night time which is an indicator of good rain.
  3. Moon in the Ardra Pravesh chart is receiving the aspects of Jupiter and Venus the two watery planets.
  4. The lagna lord Saturn is in watery sign Scorpio and it is in mutual aspect with watery planet Mercury.
  5. Jupiter is giving aspect to both lagna and Moon which is a promise of good rainfall.

These were all good yoga’s promising rainfall during the monsoon season. But there are some other combinations which indicate an erratic rainfall season. The retrograde movement of Saturn is one of them. The placement of Moon in the Sagittarius a dry sign also indicate scanty rain at some places.

At present Gujarat and Western parts of Rajasthan have received scanty rainfall. Punjab and Harayana have also received less than normal rainfall till the end of July. But thing would improve very soon as the planetary conjunction of Jupiter, Mercury and Venus in Leo and Virgo signs respectively will bring lots of rain in the month of August.

New Moon

3 August 2016 at 02:13 hours at Delhi

New Moon 3 August 2016

See the new Moon chart of 3rd of August the conjunction of Jupiter, Mercury and Venus in Leo is making a combination of torrential rainfall during the first fortnight of August month. On the day of 5th of August when Moon will also join these three watery planets there will be wide spread heavy rain across the country. The states of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, U.P. and Bihar will witness extremely heavy rainfall around 5th of August. In the Gujarat and western Rajasthan good rainfall will ease the deficit of rain.

There will be some painful incidents of cloud burst and land slides in the state of Uttarakhand during the first fortnight of August resulting into the heavy losses of lives and properties.

Earthquake Anticipated in August-September

The close conjunction of Saturn and Mars in Scorpio sign and later the solar eclipse on the 1st of September is likely to bring big earthquakes around the world. The chances of tremors will be more around the 23rd of August and 1st of September. The Pakistan and North India signified by Scorpio sign can received strong earthquakes around the full Moon of 18th of August.

Full Moon

18 August 2016 ,  14:57 hours at Delhi

Full Moon 18 August 2016

In the full Moon chart of 18th of August the Saturn and Mars are at close degrees in the Scorpio sign. The majority of planets in the fixed rashi’s is a combination of an earthquake. Jupiter is in Virgo sign and Capricorn navamsha. The position of Jupiter in earthy sign and earthy navamshas bring earthquake if other astrological pointers for the same are also visible.

So around the full Moon of 18th of August or 23rd of August, when Saturn and Mars would be conjoined at the same degrees there are chances of strong earthquakes. It is difficult to locate the direction but it could be in the Himalayan region of Pakistan and North India. Delhi-NCR would also be hit be these tremors badly.

Later the solar eclipse of 1st of September would bring some tremors in the south-east direction. On the day of solar eclipse of 1st of September the majority of planets would be in the south-east direction in Koorma Chakra which might bring earthquakes in countries like Indonesia, Thailand or Myanmar or Malaysia. There is also a threat of Tsunami in the south-east direction during the first week of  September. I have send an article on this topic to the editor of  The Planets & Forecast Magazine explaining the Koorma Chakra. I will soon post that article for the readers of this blog.

Saturn-Mars in Scorpio, full Moon and danger of an earthquake

May 22, 2016 By Sachin Malhotra

Mars and Saturn will appear brighter in the sky in the next few days as they are in opposition with the Sun these days. On the 22nd of May the red planet Mars will shine much more brightly than it usually does. On the 30th of May the Mars will be closes to the earth. In the night sky the Mars will be visible near the head of the sign . However, since the Mars is transiting from south latitude and Saturn is moving in north latitude in the zodiac so both of them will not appear very close in the night sky. It is only when two planets transit at the same latitude and longitude then their disk appear to be very close to each other. This condition is called ‘planetary war’ in Vedic astrology.

Now  on the June 3rd  the Saturn will reach at opposition to the Sun at exact degrees. At this point of time Saturn would be closest to the earth. So if you have a small telescope then this is the best time of the year to view these two outer planets in the night sky.

If you are an astrology lover and take some interest in Mundane astrology then you must cast couple of  lunar charts to study them for the purpose of  forecasting changing weather trends in your country . In astro-meteorology the opposition of Saturn and Sun or their conjunction is a tested principal which is know to bring extreme weather conditions. In winters this combination bring severe cold wave and in the summer this yoga causes extremely hot temperature. I had already mention about the effects of this yoga in my article “Trends of Summer Season 2016” published in the April issue of Express Star Teller magazine. I had also given predictions of record breaking heat during the summer season in India in my article written for the Hindi news paper Rajasthan Patrika website. {Hindi} वक्री मंगल-शनि के कारण इस वर्ष पड़ेगी रिकॉर्ड तोड़ गर्मी!

Now see this horoscope of Full Moon of 22nd of May before i explain the possible effects of Sun-Mars opposition in Mundane astrology.

Full Moon

22 May 2016 at 02:44 hours at Delhi

Full Moon 22 May 2016

Navamsha Full Moon 22 May 2016

Notice the close degree opposition of Sun and Mars at the time of Full Moon. They are in mutual aspect with each other at around 07 degrees of longitude. The Mars is transiting with southern latitude at present which as per Parashara Samhita is consider ominous. In Mundane astrology (Medini Jyotish) the Sun-Mars opposition is know to give fire accidents, trouble to the kings, droughts, trouble from thieves, war etc. The aspect of Mars on the Sun is consider bad particularly at the time of eclipse and/or Full Moon or New Moon.

On the 9th of March at the time of solar eclipse the Mars was giving aspect to the luminaries in Aquarius. Since the effects of a solar eclipse are felt for about 3 months so till the 9th of June we can expect some unpleasant happenings. We can expect following events in the next 15 days during the operation of the Full Moon chart given above.

  1. There will be a serious set back for the central government of India due to some scams and/or death of an important leader. The lagan and 10th lord Jupiter is falling in the 6th house along with Rahu and they are under the malefic aspect of retrograde Saturn.
  2. The close degree aspect of Jupiter (signifying  Finance) , 11th lord Saturn and role of 2nd lord Mars shows the possibility of income tax department acting tough against some big industrialists  of the country.
  3. The 6th lord Sun and 8th lord Venus conjoined at the 3rd house is a combination of trouble from neighboring countries. The Pakistan will break the cease fire at the LOC in Kashmir and there will be some big terrorist attacks in the north India region.
  4. Now notice the afflictions on Venus and Moon in the Rashi chart. Moon is the 5th lord in Rashi chart and in Navamsha the 5th house is under server malefic influences. It is a combination of some scandals effecting sports personalities, media and entertainment industry. The students may also oppose a major policy change by the HRD ministry.
  5. The affliction to the Venus across the Taurus-Scorpio axis shows a major sex scandal or crime against women affecting some important persons of the country. Many politicians, industrialist, bureaucrats and media persons will suffer humiliation in coming days.

Tremors of  an Earthquake : A strong earthquake is likely to strike the Himalayan region of North India and Pakistan any time before 9th of June. The concentration of planets across the Scorpio-Taurus axis is a combination of an earthquake striking the Himalayan region of North India which this time may result into very heavy losses of lives and properties.
