In mundane astrology (Medini Jyotish) the study of horoscopes cast at the time of  eclipses holds a special importance. An astrologer practicing this subject need to cast 12 solar ingress horoscopes and 24 lunar charts for a particular country, by taking its capital as the place, to give his astrological predictions. Among the 24 lunar charts the Pisces New Moon, which is called Hindu New Year horoscope,  is of special importance as it give a general overview about how the year would be for a country. In my article ” Hindu New Year horoscope 2017 and prospects for India” posted on 28 March 2017 i had predicted a war like situation for our country during June to September this year.

Now the recent events in Kashmir and the ‘Sikkim standoff’ with China has made the  war clouds are looming over sub-continent. In Pakistan the prime minister Nawaz Sharif is badly trapped in ‘Panama leaks’ and may be forced to resign any time during this year as per astrological analysis of the foundation chart of Pakistan. China on the other hand is repeatedly threatening India with dare consequence if it didn’t withdraw its troops from Doklam. China call Doklam its own whereas India and Bhutan says its belong to Bhutan.

India has a friendship treaty with Bhutan signed in August 1949. Later when China occupied Tibet then both nation came more close to each other. In 1958 then Indian prime minister Jawahar Lal Nehru visited Bhutan and later declared in the Indian parliament that any aggression against Bhutan would be seen as aggression against India. Since then India is committed to protect the borders of Bhutan. In 2014 current Indian prime minister Narendra Modi visited Bhutan to strengthen the ties between the two countries.

Now the unusually aggressive stand of China on the Dokala has made the bilateral relations between the two countries most strained  since 1962 war. India had a bitter experience in war with China in 1962. Interestingly the planetary position of Saturn and Jupiter would be similar to in 2020 what it was in 1962. The Saturn and Jupiter would be conjoined in Capricorn in 2020 and in 1962 they were also in the similar position. Capricorn is the ascendant of the foundation chart of China and it is the 7th from the natal Moon of India. We will discuss it later in another post. Now first see the horoscopes of lunar and solar eclipses taking place during August this year.

Possible effects of two eclipses in August 2017 

A partial lunar eclipse and a total solar eclipse will occur across the  in the month of August 2017. The partial lunar eclipse of 6/7 August will be visible throughout India but the total solar eclipse of 21/22 August will not be visible here. The total solar eclipse will be visible across the 48 states of USA excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Such type of Total Solar eclipse was last seen in the USA during June 1979 and June 1918. As per the Varahamihira the the effects of eclipse are felt strongly at the places where they are visible. Thus the total solar eclipse in August is likely to effect USA in a great manner.

Lunar Eclipse 

7 August 2017, 23:40 hours at Delhi

 At the time of this lunar eclipse the Moon is in Capricorn sign which signifies north-western parts of India as per the Koorma Chakra. The Capricorn is also the rising sign of the foundation chart of China. The natal Moon of China is also in the Capricorn rashi which at the time of eclipse receive the aspects of Sun, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. The predominant malefic aspect suggest the situation of war but the Jupiter giving aspect to the Moon at the time of eclipse will not let the war to accelerate for longer duration. India will face border skirmishes in Kashmir and North East during the months of August-September. The combined hostility from Pakistan and China will force Indian government to take an  emergency action to improve its military strength at the border areas.

For India the fortnight starting from 7th of August will be very difficult. The country will be struggling with the situation of flood in its central parts as the Sun and Mars in Cancer suggest. The government of India will also face vigorous attack from the opposition parties , which the 10th lord Saturn in the 8th house of this lunar chart indicates. A scandal could hit the image of ruling party BJP at the center which would be very disturbing for the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi who’s Moon sign and ascendant is Scorpio influenced by transiting Saturn in retrograde motion.

Total Solar Eclipse 

21 August 2017 , 23: 59 hours at Delhi 

A total solar eclipse will be visible across USA on the 21/22 August 2017. The Sun at the time of this eclipse will be in Leo which is the rashi of the foundation chart of USA and of its current president Donald Trump. The Sun at the time of this solar eclipse will be under the influence of Rahu and retrograde Saturn. Soon the Mars will also ingress over the eclipse point in the first week of September 2017.

Dangers of Earthquakes and cyclones in August-September 2017 

This solar eclipse of August 21, 2017 will effect the Magha Nakshatra. As per Koorma Chakra the Magha Nakshatra represent the south-east direction. There could be a devastating cyclone in this direction affecting the south-eastern states of Odisha and Chattishgarh with heavy rain. This cyclone may come within 15 days of this solar eclipse or around the day of eclipse itself. The Saturn , Mars and Venus in watery rashi’s at the time of an eclipse can bring heavy rainfall and cyclones.

There are also chances of a strong earthquake hitting across the south-east Asian countries like Japan, Philippians, Indonesia etc. In the horoscope of solar eclipse the Sun and Moon are in an  earthy navamsha. They are afflicted by Mars and Saturn in the Navamsha chart which makes a combination of a strong earthquake of the magnitude of 7.7 or more.

Recession and war may affect USA

This solar earthquake will be visible across 48 states of the USA from its east to west cost. Since last one hundred years it is the 3rd total solar eclipse which will be viewed in almost every part of USA in totality. The Leo, the sign of eclipse, is the ascendant of the foundation chart of USA and of its president Donald Trump. I have already written in my post “Donald Trump in war mood” that this year the USA may get trapped into a dangerous war with North Korea and it will eventually take this country towards a serious recession. The effect of eclipse will bring a political scandal affecting the image of Donald Trump badly.  The USA and China will also come under confronting situation on the issue of North Korea which would be a dangerous event for the world peace. It might create a  situation  similar to ‘Cuba missile crisis’ of 1962. The war in Korean peninsula will also affect Japan very badly.
