The classics of Mundane Astrology (Medini Jyotish) has given very good results for the transit of Jupiter from Virgo Rashi. As per Bhavishya Phala Bhaskara the Jupiter in Virgo gives good rainfall, pleasant weather and good health to people and fall in the prices of food grains because of good harvest. The south-west monsoon season has been good this year with around 97% of normal rainfall. This has ended the severe drought of 2 years in many parts of the country.
The monsoon season was extended for about 15 days this year and there was very good rainfall in the states of Chattishgarh and Madhya Pradesh because of it. Now the retreating monsoon clouds are also promising a good North-East monsoon season in the southern peninsula.
In this article I will discuss about the possible weather trends during the coming winter season (2016-17).

This year the conjunction of Saturn and Sun will occur from 16 November 2016 to 15 December 2016 in Scorpio sign. The conjunction of Sun and Saturn gives extreme weather conditions as per the season. The legendary astrologer late Shri B.V. Raman has mention about this conjunction in his book “Astrology in Predicting Weather and Earthquakes” at page number 7 in following words: “ When Sun is with Saturn, the pressure is stagnant over long periods and colder than normal for the season”.
This year due to the conjunction of Saturn and Sun in the second fortnight of November the winter season is likely to come earlier then its normal course. Apart from this the Mercury-Venus conjunction ahead of Sun and the transit of Mars from Capricorn is also going to become the cause of an early onset of the winter season in North and Central parts of India.
The Scorpio and Capricorn are watery signs as per the astro-meteorological texts. The Saturn-Sun in Scorpio and the Mars in Capricorn is likely to give cold winds and early fall of snow at the hilly areas of Himalayas from the last week of November and early December. This will give a very pleasant weather during the month of December in most parts of the country. It will be good for the Rabi crops and seasonal diseases like cough-cold will be less severe than the normal during the winter season.
Retrograde Mercury and blizzard in North India
On the 19th of December the Mercury will get into retrograde motion. It has been observed that a retrograde Mercury with Sun during the winter season tend to give sever cold wave. The Venus would then be in watery sign Capricorn under the aspects of Saturn and Jupiter. This will bring the onset of severe cold wave in the northern state of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Uttarakhand, U.P. and Jammu & Kashmir.
Saturn in Sagittarius and winter season
The Saturn will move into Sagittarius sign on the 26th of January 2017. Later on the 28th of January the Venus will join Mars in Pisces which is a watery sign. These major changes of sign by Saturn and Venus will bring rainfall in many parts of North and Central India. At some places this rain may also damage the Rabi crops of wheat.
New Moon Chart
28 January 2017 at 05:36 hours , Delhi
See the New Moon chart for 28 January 2017 the opposition of Venus and Jupiter, the two watery planets, is a classical combination of good rainfall. During the first fortnight of February there will be very heavy snowfall in the state of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand. During this period there will also be some unexpected rainfall in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana which are signified by the Pisces sign. There will be above normal rainfall for the season during the month of February in 2017 in the most parts of the country.
Jupiter in retrograde motion and rainfall
The Jupiter will get into retrograde motion on the 4th of February 2017 which will bring some more rain and blizzard in the northern states of the country. The weather will be pleasant and the temperature will be less than normal for the season during the month of February in other parts of the country.
Mars in Aries and the rise in temperature
The Mars will enter into Aries sign on the 2nd of March 2017. At that time it will come into trine position with Saturn moving from Sagittarius. The both Aries and Sagittarius are fiery signs. This will increase the temperature in the central and the eastern parts of the country. Later the Mercury will enter into Pisces to join the Venus transiting in retrograde motion which will bring some unseasonal rainfall for the season.
Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in opposition and unseasonal rainfall
The period form the 11th of March to the 29th of March will bring unseasonal rainfall in the states of Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, U.P. , Jammu & Kashmir etc. resulting into the loss of Rabi crops. The Mercury and Venus transiting from watery sign Pisces would be in opposition with Jupiter transiting from Virgo. As per the Bhavishya Phala Bhaskara the watery planets Mercury, Venus and Jupiter gives unseasonal rainfall when all of them are either in conjunction or in opposition. Moreover, the Venus and Jupiter would be in retrograde motion which as per the same authority is a combination of heavy rainfall. The unexpected rainfall and hailstorms will destroy the Rabi crops at many places in north, west and central India during the second fortnight of March in 2017.
