The trade war between the USA and China has started with Donald Trump announcing to slap tariff’s of at least $50 billion on the Chinese imports. Earlier this month Donald Trump had order to put duties on the import of steel and other metal products from China and other countries. This news has send shivers across all the major stock markets around the world including India. I had mention the possibilities of  ‘trade war’ between the nations in my article ” Saturn in Sagittarius and impending danger of a global recession” posted on the 18th October 2017 on this blog. I had also made these predictions in the January 2018 issue of the Express Star Teller Magazine in my article ” Global Economic Scenario in 2018″ 

China in response to Donald Trump’s imposing of tariff’s has said that it doesn’t fear a ‘trade war’ with USA and announced reciprocated measures. China is also threatening to put forward this case in WTO (Word Trade Organization). Sooner or later India will also find herself in trouble with its exports already being declining. The trade war between the two largest economies in the world will bring global recession which is dangerous for the world economy. Indian economy is trying to recover from the twin blog of demonetization and  GST.

The Indian government led by Modi is struggling to find out ways to put the economy back on the track of growth. The Hindu New Year horoscope of 2018 suggest that government will succeed in their efforts but to a small extent only and the anger in the public will grew in the election year coming in 2019.

Features of Hindu New Year chart : The striking point in the Hindu New Year or Chaitra Shukla Pratipada horoscope is the exchange between the 2^nd lord Venus and the 7^th lord Jupiter. This combination indicates major economic reforms, increase in foreign trade, record revenue collection by the means of direct and indirect taxes and revival of Indian economy. However, the influence of the Saturn and Mars on the 4^th house of Rashi and Navamsha charts is a strong astrological indicator of some tragic road and air accidents. The affliction to the 4^th house also means a bad year for the farmers and laborers.

The King of the year is Sun as the Pratipada falls at the time of Sun rise of the next day i.e. on the 18^th of March when it is a Sunday. The prime minister of the planetary cabinet will be Saturn as it is the day lord when Sun enters the Aries (Mesha Samkranti) on the 14^th of April 2018. The two hard malefic and mutual enemies becoming the King and the prime minister of the year respectively is not consider good for ruling government in particular. The ruling BJP at the center will start becoming unpopular and weak during the operation of this horoscope.

Political Scandals and Death of Important leaders: The transiting Saturn from Sagittarius is also bad for the central government as it is the 10^th lord in the foundation chart of India transiting from the 8^th house. The Jupiter which is the lord of 8^th house in the foundation chart of India will be transiting from Libra the 6^th house is indicating the major political scandals and death of some important leaders which will happen before 11^th of October the day Jupiter leaves the Libra sign in transit. Mars will stay in Capricorn (Makar rashi) for a longer period due to getting retrograde there. The long stay of Mars in the Capricorn sign is consider dangerous for the image of ruling government at the center as this sign is the second weakest sign in Sarvashtaka Varga , getting 21 points only, of the foundation horoscope of India.

The period from the mid of March to the mid of October is very sensitive for the image of ruling BJP leaders in center and states. During this period some controversies will negatively affect the image of the top leadership of ruling party. The month of July and August will be extremely bad for the BJP as Mars transiting from Capricorn will be affecting their 8^th house from the ascendant and a total lunar eclipse will also fall their on the 27/28 July. It will also be a difficult year for the Aam Aadmi Party who’s horoscope is of Makar lagna which will get affected by the malefic conjunction of Ketu and Mars for a longer duration. However, for Congress Party, having Meena lagna horoscope, the year will bring  surprise elections victories during its Jupiter-Venus dasha.

The Moon-Jupiter period in the horoscope of the foundation chart of India indicates the death of some very important leader in the country during last quarter of 2018 . Jupiter as the 8^th lord indicates the death of some ruling party leader. The 8^th house is the house of national mourning.

Economic Revival : The exchange between the 2^nd lord Venus and the 7^th lord Jupiter does indicate some economic revival particularly by the means of foreign investments, higher tax collections and foreign trade agreements. The strong 2^nd house also shows the possible reforms in the banking sector, insurance, foreign trade, business procedures during the general budget in March. There will be record tax collections by the good implementation of GST and higher filling of income tax returns during the financial year 2018-19. However, the GDP growth may not cross the mark of 7.5% during the financial year  due to global recession and trade wars between the nations.

Earthquake and Major Accidents : In the Hindu New Year horoscope the Saturn and Mars in the 4^th house indicates losses for farmers due to deficient  rain, earthquakes, fire accident in government buildings and tragic public transport accidents. The Saturn is the lord of 6^th house and Mars is the lord of 8^th house in the Hindu New Year chart. In Navamsha they are afflicting the 4^th house. In Mundane astrology the 4^th house indicates agricultural production, government building, public transport etc. The Mars here as the 3^rd lord ( transport and communication) and the 8^th lord  ( national mourning and mass deaths) along with Saturn does confirm a very tragic rail and air accident which may shock the nation during the year 2018.

A total lunar eclipse visible on the night of 27/28 may also bring an earthquake in North West part of India and also in Pakistan.

See the eclipse horoscope given here where the rising sign is Taurus (Vrishabha) which is the same as of the foundation chart of India. The fortnight starting from the 28^th of July will be highly sensitive for India. The Moon at the time of this eclipse will be in the Shravana Nakshatra and Mars retrograde in Uttarashada both in the North-West direction of the ‘Koorma-Chakra’. The affliction to the ‘Makar’ Rashi and ‘Uttarashada’ Nakshara may bring a devastating earthquake in the North Western and Northern states of country. The 15 days after this lunar eclipse of 27/28 of July 2018 will be highly sensitive for the possibility of a strong earthquake affecting both India and Pakistan.

Celebrity Marriage and Break-ups : The 7^th house in mundane astrology also signifies the celebrity marriages and break-up hitting the headlines. The placement of luminaries (Sun and Moon) in the 7^th house along with Venus and Mercury will bring a news of celebrity marriage just few days after the beginning of the Pisces New Moon. However, since Mars aspect the 7^th house in both Rashi and Navamsha so there will also be a very high profile celebrity break-up and/or divorce surprising the nation.

War like situation: The 7^th house is also the house of war and foreign diplomacy. The concentration of planets in the 7^th house of the Hindu New Year charts shows that India will have to face a war like situation with its neighbors though the war would be avoided due to some smart tactical diplomacy. The sensitive months will be during July to October when Mars will be hovering in the Capricorn sign showing a war like situation at the western border of India i.e. India-Pakistan borders.

Major Strikes of government servants:  The Saturn as the lord of 6^th house ( strikes and strife) placed in the 4^th house of public services shows the possibilities of major strikes by government servants. Since Mars is the lord of 3^rd house (public transport) here so the strikes could be in railways and government buses in opposition of privatization policies. The railway employee might stage a grant protest and strikes opposing the entry of private companies. These strikes might happen in March-April and/or after July 2018.

Ram Temple Issue : The long stay of Mars in the Capricorn sign which is the 9^th house of the foundation chart of India will bring many religious disputes and riots. Mars will stay in Capricorn from 3^rd of May to 6^th of November along with Ketu. This period will be very sensitive as it may bring some religious disputes. The BJP will also try to instigate Ram Temple issue during the period to divert the public attention from its administrative weakness at the center.
