The spring season stared off with a very pleasant weather in North India this year. After the solar eclipse of 9 March the temperature started falling down as there was very good snowfall in the Himalayan region of Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. There was also very good rainfall in North and Central India from 11th to 21st of March. Now in the first week of April the Odisha and Bengal is been lashed out with the pre-monsoon rain. The North Eastern states and Chattishgarh is also receiving some good pre-monsoon rains as per the private meteorological agency Skymetweather {Reference link : http://www.skymetweather.com/content/weather-news-and-analysis/odisha-and-west-bengal-get-pre-monsoon-rain-more-in-offing-for-east-india/ }
However, from the astrological point of view this spell of pre-monsoon rain is for very short period. This year chances are very high that there could be a severe drought in the months of April-May-June in the regions of Maharashtra , Bundelkhand and some parts of Gujarat. The conjunction of Saturn and Mars in Scorpio is known to give some rain early on but later it may produce a drought like situation due to scanty rainfall and delay in monsoon.
In the folklore the following couplet of astrologer poets Ghagh and Bhaddari is popular among village astrologers of India.
Mangal-Shani Vkari Hue Jagat Peer Sabh Thai
Alap Megh Dukha Raja Ko Ghani Chalat Jag Bai

English Translation: When Mars and Saturn gets retrograde together then they bring grief to the people on earth and there is a scanty rainfall. The kings suffer and there would be dust storm all around.
Now Saturn has become retrograde on the 25th of March and Mars will also goes into reverse motion on the 17th of April. The Jupiter is already in retrograde motion along with Rahu in Leo and they are under the malefic aspect of dry planet Saturn. This is the surest signal of an impending drought, delay in monsoon and water riots like situation at many places in country.
I have made these predictions in my article “Trends of the Summer Season 2016” which is published in the April 2016 issue of Express Star Teller magazine.
In the first week of April the Sun will be in Pisces, a watery sign, along with Mercury and Venus transiting there. The Saturn and Mars would also be in a watery sign Scorpio. This combination can give windy spells and increase in the depth of low-pressure system across the coastal areas. The concentration of watery planets Mercury and Venus in Pisces can give some erratic rainfall in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesha signified by Pisces sign. However, the central India signified by Leo will be facing lots of hot and dry winds during the month of April. The retrograde Jupiter in fiery sign Leo under the aspect of dry planet Saturn will give above normal temperature in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat and Telangana. There will be a draught and scarcity of water in the Bundelkhand and Vidarbha region.
In Delhi and Haryana signified by Scorpio sign there would be some dust storms and light rainfall in the first week of April month. The Saturn and Mars transiting in Scorpio can give unseasonal rainfall in the North direction.
On the 14th of April the Sun will move into Aries and join Mercury there. This will initiate the hot and gusty winds (Loo) during the day time in the most parts of Northern India. Now see the New Moon chart for the fortnight starting from 22nd of April.
New Moon
22nd April 2016 , 10 hours and 53 minutes at Delhi
In the New Moon horoscope the Saturn, Mars and Jupiter are in retrograde motion. They are in square of each other in very close degrees. The watery planet Jupiter getting under such affliction tends to give above normal temperature for the season. In most parts of the country the temperate will be above normal during the fortnight starting from 22nd of April. The states of Madhya Pradesh, Chattishgarh, Telengana and Gujarat will be under the grip of severe hot waves killing hundreds of people.
This square position of major planets is also a combination of a deadly earthquake occurring during this fortnight. The tremors measuring more than 7.7 at the rector scale may strike the Hindu Kush region in Pakistan and Afghanistan or in the earthquake sensitive south Iran. There may also be a mild earthquake in the northern states of India particularly from Kashmir to Delhi due to the affliction on Scorpio sign in this new Moon chart.
In the fortnight starting from the 7th of May the Sun, Mercury and Venus will be in fiery sign Aries. This combination will not give any relief from the heat waves and temperate will remain higher than the normal for the season in most parts of the country. On the 15th of May the Sun will move into Taurus and will come in a mutual aspect with Saturn and Mars. This combination is not a welcome sign for the south-west monsoon. There will be less than normal rain during the pre-monsoon season which is bad news for the farmers of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In the second fortnight of May the temperature will be higher than the normal in the Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana , Andhra Pradesha and Karnataka. There severe heat and delay in south-west monsoon would case a draught like situation in the western and northern parts of the country. The farmers of draught prone Vidarbha and Bundelkhand will have to suffer the most.
