The month of June has begun with a 10 day strike of farmers declared by ‘All India Kisan Mahasangh, which is likely to affect the supply of fruits, vegetables and milk across many states including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashatra being the prominent. I had predicted about a nationwide strike of farmer and laborers in summer season in my post ‘Hindu New Year Horoscope 2018 and Forecast for India’ published on 23rd of March. I had also given a forecast of ‘erratic monsoon season in 2018’ in this article. The major astrological reason for these two predictions was the presence of Saturn-Mars in the 4th house of the Hindu New Year horoscope and the long stay of Mars in Capricorn. Because of these two factors and some other astrological combinations the South-West monsoon in 2018 will be highly erratic and bring lots of damage to the crops of farmers.
In my article published in the June issue of the Express Start Teller magazines i have given this forecast on south-west monsoon that thought the Full Moon horoscope of 29th of May 2018 suggest the timely onset of monsoon over Kerala on the 29th and 30th of May but its progress will be slow later on particularly once the Sun and Saturn will come into opposition in the mid of June. The rainfall till 17th of July will be below average only but later with the entry of Sun into Cancer sign will bring good rainfall in the second week of July. The Lunar eclipse of 27/28 July will give devastating flood in many parts of the country affecting the safety of large numbers of live stocks, humans and crops. The flood and earthquake after the lunar eclipse of 27/ 28th of July will bring losses of human lives mostly in the north and north-west parts of the country signifies by the Capricorn (Makar rashi) which is currently afflicted by the the transit of Mars and Ketu.
Now first see the Hindu New Year horoscope 2018 given below to analysis the general trends of farming and rainfall in the year 2018-19.
Hindu New Year 2018 horoscope
17 March 2018, 18:41 hours at Delhi
The operation of the Hindu New year horoscope will be from March 2018 to March 2019. The year concern will give lots of damage to the crops due to unseasonable and erratic rainfall. The presence of Saturn and Mars in the 4th house of farming and land is not good. We have already seen the damage inflicted by the widespread dust storms and thunderstorms across the north India in the month of May.
The conjunction of Mars-Saturn earlier in April and then Mars-Ketu from the 3rd of May was the astrological reasoning for these unseasonable dust storms damaging the crops in North Indian states. Capricorn sign specially signifies the north and the north-west direction. Mars and Ketu in Makar rashi will all create a havoc of flood in this area particularly after the lunar eclipse of 27/28 July which will be falling in his rashi only. In the Hindu New Year horoscope given above the 6th lord Saturn and the 8th lord Mars shows strikes and strife by farmers which will take the violent turn in days to come.
Ardra Pravesh of Sun
22 June 2018, 11:11 hours at Delhi
The important features of the Sun’s entry into Ardra horoscope are given below.
- The Sun enters into the Ardra Nakshatra on the Friday ruled by Venus which is a watery planet.
- But the entry of Sun into Ardra asterism is going to take place in the afternoon which is not considered very well for rainfall prospects. If the Sun enters into the Ardra Nakshatra close to the mid night then it is taken as a very positive sign for good rainfall.
- The ascendant is Leo a fiery sign receiving the aspect of Mars. But the two benefic planets, Moon and Venus, on the either side of the ascendant are good. In Navamsha the benefic sign Libra is rising which is also positive.
- The lord of ascendant, which is Sun, receiving the aspects of Jupiter and Saturn shows average rainfall.
- The mutual aspect between the Sun and Saturn shows that there will be record breaking heat waves at the time of Sun’s entry into Ardra. In the last fortnight of June the North and Western part of the country will be boiling with excess temperature. The states of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan will be under the blistering heat waves in the last fortnight of June.
- Moon receiving the aspect from Saturn in the Rashi chart and in Navamsha is under the aspect of Jupiter again shows very average rainfall. Moon is in Virgo which is a dry sign.
- The retrograde Mars in mutual aspect with Venus in watery sign shows destruction by flood at many places so the distribution of rainfall will be highly uneven. The period from 16 July to 17 August , the time when Sun will be in Cancer, will give destructive flood in central and north-west part of the country.
- The Gemini sign, signifying west Bengal state, is receiving the aspect of dry planet Saturn and so is the Virgo sign which signifies the southern peninsular. It indicates less than normal rains particularly in West Bengal, Karnataka , Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesha, Telangana etc.
- The overall planetary position in the Ardra Pravesh chart suggest around 95% of rain fall during the south-west monsoon season. The retrograde Saturn in fiery sign Sagittarius in opposition with Sun showing below normal rainfall in the month of June and also during the first fortnight of July.
As per the classical text Bhavishya Phala Bhaskara the Saturn in Sagittarius gives less than normal rain.
Transliteration: Dhanurasho Sithatha Sorigarjitoapi Na Varshite
Tyoheena Dhara Tatra Durbhiksha Cha Vinidishet ll
English Translation: When the Saturn transit through the Sagittarius sign the even the thundering clouds do not give rain. There is a scarcity of water on the earth which gives draught at many places.

Progress of Monsoon in Central India
On the 14th of June on the day of Amavasya the Moon will join Sun in the Taurus sign. The Mercury will be in Gemini and Venus in Cancer. The two benefic planets ahead of luminaries (Sun and Moon) on the day of New Moon on the 14th of June will give a very good spell of rains. The period of one week from the 14th of June to 21st of June will be good for the progress of the south-west monsoon. There will be very good rainfall in Chattishgarh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. The Mumbai will receive very good rainfall from the 14th of June to 21sth of June.
When will Monsoon express reach in Delhi and North India ?
At the time of Full Moon of 28th of June the Mercury and Venus are ahead of Sun in a watery sign Cancer. Mars aspect them from Capricorn which is another watery sign showing rain. The Sun and Venus are in Capricorn (Makar) Navamsha. Saturn and Moon are in Cancer Navamsha. Jupiter is in Pisces Navamsha. So as many as 5 planets posted in the Navamsha of watery signs shows good prospects of rain on after the Full Moon of 28th of June thus we can expect a timely entry of south-west monsoon in Delhi-NCR then. The official time for the entry of monsoon in Delhi is 29th of June. It is highly likely that around this time there will be rain in the Delhi-NCR and also in parts of western U.P. However, the amount of rainfall will not be sufficient even in the first fortnight of June as the Saturn will be in direct opposition with Sun in the transit. A retrograde Mars with close degrees of Ketu, which give changeable weather, is another indicator of uneven distribution of rain.

So the more number of planets occupying the watery rashi’s and Navamsha at the time of lunar eclipse can bring abnormally higher rainfall. The period from 28th of July to the 15th of August will bring destructive rainfall in the eastern, south-east and north-west direction. The state of Himachal Pradesh will get heavy rain and landslides incurring losses of lives. There will be floods in many parts of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. There are also chances of a strong earthquake destroying lives and properties in large numbers in the northern states. This earthquake may come within 15 days of this lunar eclipse falling on the 28th of July.
