The General Elections in Canada will be held on 28th of April for 343 seats of the House of Commons. Although the Canadian elections were due in the month of October but the current Prime Minister Mark Carney requested the Governor General Mark Simon on the 23rd of March to dissolve the Parliament. In my article ‘Political Crisis in Canada- Astrologically Analyses’ published in the April 2025 issue of the Modern Astrology magazine i had forecast an early elections in Canada with a possible defeat of the ruling Liberal Party. In the last General Elections in Canada held in 2021 Liberal Party got 160 seats and formed a minority government with the help of Jagmeet Singh’s New Democratic Party who had won 24 seats then. The Conservative Party had then got only 119 seats. However, the Hindu New Year Chart (Pisces New Moon horoscope) of Canada for 2025 indicate that the ruling Liberal Party may not be able to form the government this time.
We will discuss the horoscope of current Prime Minister Mark Carney but before this let’s see the Pisces New Moon or Chaitra Shukla Pratipada chart of Canada.

- King of the New Year and/or luminaries (Sun and the Moon) becoming lords of the 8th or 12th houses in the Rashi and/or Shashtiamsa (D-60) chart or placed in these houses are also bad for the incumbent government.
- The 10th lord connected with trine (1,5 and 9) or Kendra (1, 4, 7 and 10) lords or in the 2nd or 11th houses/lords is good for the continuity of the government.
- Saturn and Mars jointly afflicting the 4-10 axis are also bad for the incumbent government.
In the Hindu New Year chart of Canada 2025 (chart 1) the Pisces lagna is rising. The lagna and 10th lord Jupiter is in the 3rd house in Rashi Parivartan Yoga with 3rd and 8th lord Venus. Thus, as the 10th lord Jupiter is involved in a relation with 8th lord Venus due to a Parivartana (sign exchange) yoga. In Navamsha Sagittarius lagna is rising and luminaries (the Sun and the Moon) are in the 12th house a ‘Dusthana’. The 10th lord is Mercury which is in conjunction with the 6th lord in the 9th house. The King of the New Year is the Sun which in Rashi is along with 8th lord Venus and in Navamsha it is again associated with the 8th lord, thus these combinations are not good for the incumbent government in Canada.
In Shashtiamsa (D-60) the Capricorn lagna is rising and the 10th lord Venus goes into the 12th house. The luminaries the Sun and the Moon are in the 8th house a ‘Dusthana’ which shows fall of the incumbent government. Thus, the study of Hindu New Year horoscope (2025) for Canada indicate a possible fall of the incumbent Liberal party government.
Since the 7th lord Mercury in Rashi chart is in close conjunction with the 3rd lord so the opposition Conservative Party can form the new government with the help of smaller parties i.e. allies signify by the 3rd house, after the coming election on the 28th of April.

The horoscope of Mark Carney (chart 2), the 24th Prime Minister of Canada, is an interesting case from an astrological perspective. He was the Governor of the Bank of Canada (2008 to 2013) and Bank of England (2013 to 2020) before coming into politics. He has his doctorate from University of Oxford in Economics in year 1995. Jupiter is the karaka or significant of economics subject. In his Taurus lagna chart 5th lord Mercury is in the sign of Jupiter in Pisces. In Navamsha (D-9) and Chathurvimshamsha (D-24) Jupiter is in the 11th house and aspect the 5th house of education.
Mark Carney become the Prime Minister of Canada after the resignation of Justin Trudeau early this year. He is at present under the Vimshottari Dasha of Jupiter and Anter Dasha of the Sun from 28th of January 2025 to 16th of November 2025. Jupiter as the 11th lord is in the 12th house but the Sun as the 4th lord is in the 11th house along with the 5th lord (minister post) Mercury which as per Sage Parashara is a good Raja Yoga for native born under Taurus ascendant. But since Jupiter and the Sun are in 2/12 from each other in Rashi chart, and they are in a bad 6/8 axis in Navamsha (D-9) so, his position looks shaky in office.
In Dashmasha (D-10) Jupiter falls in the 12th house of losses but the Anter Dasha lord the Sun is in the 10th house of power. So, Mark Carney can get the position of a strong opposition leader in case of a hung Parliament in General Elections of Canada on the coming 28th of April.

As per the Jaimini system Amatayakaraka Venus is in the 10th house along with the Ganatikaraka Saturn. They both get the aspect by Atamakaraka Jupiter which also can give a sudden fall from power in a difficult Dasha. The Jaimini Chara Dasha of Libra and Anter Dasha of Leo is running from 15th of March 2025 to 15th of July 2025. Libra is the 6th house from the Janma lagna powerfully getting the aspects of Amatayakaraka Venus and Ganatikaraka Saturn. It also get the aspect of Matrikaraka the Moon and Bhatrikaraka Mars. But the Anter Dasha Rashi Leo does get her 12th house getting under the aspect of Amatayakaraka Venus and also the 10th Pada both which is not auspicious. So, Mark Carney’s Liberal Party may not win in this coming elections.
Ashtam Shani Factor
In Mark Carney’s birth chart the Moon is in Leo sign from where the transiting Saturn is moving into the 8th house Pisces at present. The transiting Jupiter is in Taurus over his natal Rahul. The transit of Saturn in the 8th from his natal Moon and over his natal Sun does shows a change in role. He may have to become the opposition leader only in case of his party getting less seats as compare to their opponent Conservative party.
In the General Elections of Canada the Conservative party can form the new government with the help of smaller parties as astrological we expect a hung parliament only.
