According to the Indian Meteorological Department the month of January was the driest and warmest in Jammu & Kashmir since last 43 years. There was almost no snowfall in the hilly region of Himalaya’s in the month of January 2024 but the plains of the North had the more polluted and colder winter season in last one decade. The month of January was full of weather extremes and now the winter season has been extended thanks to the snowfall in the Himalayas in the first week of March. However, in the Southern Parts of India the temperature is likely to be higher then the normal due to the transit of Ketu in Virgo sign.
At the beginning of the summer season this year Saturn and Mars would be in conjunction in Aquarius sign in Shathabhisha Nakshtra ruled by Rahu in the month of April. In astro-meteorology Saturn and Mars are dry planets in nature and create obstruction in rains. Rahu is windy planet and the sign Aquarius contain only 25% of water content. So, this year the month of April is likely to be very hot and dry. The temperature could be higher than the normal particularly in the western parts of the country like Gujarat and Maharashtra. The transit of Jupiter in fiery sign Aries in the Navamsha of Sagittarius also indicate hotter than the normal summer season during the April month.
The city of Bengaluru is under severe water crisis because of ground water shortage due to less than normal rainfall in the last few months. There will be scarcity of water in some more cities of South India during the month of April as dry planet Ketu is transiting in Virgo which signify the south direction as per the Koorma Chakra.

The presence of Mars, Mercury, Venus and Rahu in watery sign Pisces during the last week of April will give some relief from high temperature in the North and central parts of the country. There are also high chances for a cyclone storm in the first week or third week of May affecting Andhra Pradesh and Odisha badly.

As per Brihat Samhita’s chapter number 39 the ‘Sasya-Jataka-Adhyay’ the horoscope at the time of Sun’s entry into Taurus gives indication about the yields farmers may get for the winter crops or the crops which are sown during the monsoon season and harvested in winters. Kharif crops are known as monsoon crops which are sown in June or July in the Indian subcontinent and harvested in September-October. The rice, maize, millet, sugarcane, ragi, pulses, soybean, groundnut etc. are major Kharif crops in India.
At the time of Sun’s entry int Taurus the benefic planet Jupiter is in conjunction with the Sun. The other two benefic Mercury and Venus are behind the Sun which is a good indication for winter crops or monsoon crops in India. The production of rice, millets, pulses etc. particularly will be good in the Southern states of India due to timely pre-monsoon rainfall. Some destruction to the crops is indicated in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana due to the affliction to the Revati Nakshtra by Mars and Rahu.
In the Vrishabha (Taurus) Samkranti Chart the Libra lagna is rising which is getting the aspect by Mars, Venus and Mercury. The Moon is in own sign in Cancer which is auspicious for rice crops, sugarcane and milk production in general during the pre-winter season.
The planetary position in the chart of solar ingress of Taurus shows that during the second fortnight of May there will be some unseasonal rains in Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern UP with lightning and thunderstorms.
The month of June will be hotter than the normal in Norther Parts of the country and also in Assam due to transit of Mars from fiery sign Aries. But the conjunction of Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and the Sun in Taurus sign during the first fortnight of June can give unseasonal rainfall in Bihar and Jharkhand state which will give destruction of life and properties due to lightening and heavy dust storms.
