In the month of March there was 26% excess rainfall and more number of cases were reported for throat infections. There were surge in cases of fever and throat infection due to the outbreak of H3N2 virus. In my article ‘Retrograde Mercury and Winter Season in 2022-23’ posted on 26th of December 2022 on his blog i had predicted unseasonal rainfall and people suffering from diseases related with throat infection due to the effect of the transit of Jupiter ahead of Venus in February month. As per Brihat Samhita Jupiter’s transit ahead of Venus in winter season gives rise to throat infections in large number. Now at present benefic planets (Venus, Jupiter and Mercury) are transiting ahead of malefic planets (Sun, Mars, Saturn and Rahu) which as per Bhavishya Phala Bhaskara is a yoga for unseasonal rainfall.
Retrograde Mercury and Winter Season 2022-23 (dated 26 December 2022)
In the April 2023 issue of Express Star Teller Magazine my article “Trends for the Summer Season 2023” has appeared in which i had forecasted a summer season with less number of ‘heat wave days’. As off now there is no sign of heat wave in North India as the month of March has given surplus rainfall.
At present Jupiter is in Pisces ahead of Saturn which is transiting in Aquarius. Mercury and Venus are in Aries which are transiting ahead of Sun in Pisces sign. There are the yoga’s which brough an unseasonal rainfall that is likely to cause more trouble till 12th of April which is a bad news for the farmers.
In the Full Moon horoscope of 6th of April Sun is in conjunction with Jupiter in watery sign Pisces and they are in mutual aspect with Moon another watery planet. Mercury and Venus are both ahead of Sun along with Rahu which is a yoga for light showers and some dust storms as per the season. So, during the month of April the temperature will be moderate as per the season. Due to Mars in Gemini, there will be high temperature in West Bengal and Orissa. South and Central parts of India will experience moderate summer season in April. In the North India also there will be moderate temperature as per the summer season with no sign of major heat weaves in April month this year.
Although the total Solar Eclipse of 20th of April 2023 is not visible in India. But the planetary position at the time of this eclipse is interesting to observe. The conjunction of Sun, Mercury, Rahu and Moon in Aries sign can bring a tropical cyclone affecting the eastern parts of the country. Mercury-Rahu-Sun combination is well known for strong wind storms and lightning strikes. Jupiter behind Sun as per Bhavishya Phala Bhaskar bring good rains. A tropical cyclone can bring rains in Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. The conjunction of Sun, Mercury and Moon along with Rahu at the time of Amavasya of 20th of April will bring rise in the cases of COVID infections in India. However, there will not be any major restrictions in most part of the country though cases will continue to rise till the middle of May this year.
‘Heat wave conditions in early May’
After 28th of April when Sun enters into Bharani Nakashtra where Mercury will be already transiting then temperature will start rising in central parts of India. The city of Nagpur, Raipur, Bhopal, Indore etc. will get affected by heat waves from the first week of May. The temperature will also rise in North Indian states but there will not be heat wave like conditions until the third week of May in those places. In North Indian state there will be higher than normal temperature during the first half of May this year.
On the 15th of May Sun will enter into Taurus sign, at that time transiting Mercury, Jupiter and Rahu will be in Aries sign. This will bring some ‘pre-monsoon’ rainfall in the South Indian states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu. There will be lightning strikes and hail-storms in Eastern U.P., Bihar and Jharkhand in the second half of May which may bring losses of lives and properties. Jupiter transiting behind the Sun is a good yoga for rainfall. So, the pre-monsoon rainfall will be good as per the season. This will reduce the effects of heat-wave conditions in the North Indian states also.
Good Indications for Kharif (monsoon or autumn) crops
Kharif crops like rice, maize, cotton etc. are sown just before the monsoon rains begins. The Kharif season last from June to November in the Indian sub-continent. As per Brihat Samhita of Varahamihira the position of planets at the time of Sun’s entry into Taurus gives indications for these autumn crops. Benefic on the either side of Sun or in Kendra from it gives good harvest for the autumn crops. In the chapter number 39 ‘Sasya-Jataka-Adhyay’ of Brihat Samhita these yoga’s related with autumn and summer crops are explained in details.
In the horoscope of Sun’s entry into Taurus, Venus is in Gemini and Jupiter-Mercury are in Aries. So, the ‘Shubha-Kartari’ yoga for Sun is a good sign for Kharif or autumn crops. Though the position of Mars in the lagan in watery sign shows some loss of crops due to heavy rainfall during the monsoon season. Overall, the summer season in 2023 (April-June) will have a smaller number of days of heat-waves and there shall be good pre-monsoon rainfall in the most parts of the country which would be beneficial for the farmers.
