As the concern  growing that the Russia can invade Ukraine any time during 2022 we are doing an astrological analysis of the foundation charts of both countries in this post . Russia and Ukraine shared hundreds of years cultural, linguistic and ethnic relationship. Ukraine became independent after the fall of ‘Soviet Union in 1991’. In the foundation horoscope of Ukraine Moon is in ‘Dhanishta’ Nakshtra ruled by Mars. So astrologically the year 2022  is very difficult for Ukraine in terms of  its national security and also for her economy.

The Taurus lagna birth chart given above is of current Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky who prior to entering into politics was a very popular actor, director and comedian. His TV series ‘Servant of the People’ was aired during 2015 to 2019 in which he played the role of Ukraine’s President. This TV show made him the most famous personality in Ukraine which ultimately made him won Presidential election in April  2019 defeting then president Petro Poroshenko.

In the horoscope of Zelensky there are two beautiful Rashi Parivartan Yoga’s. The 2nd lord Mercury and 8th lord Jupiter are in exchange of signs. Then 4th lord Sun and 9th lord are also in exchange of houses which gives strength to this chart.

In the Taurus lagna horoscope of Zelensky the lagna lord Venus is in the 9th house of luck along with 4th lord Sun. These two planets are in mutual aspect with 7th lord Mars making a Raja Yoga. It was the maha dasha of Moon gave him immense popularity and political power to rule the country. Moon is the 3rd lord in its own sign and is involve with debilitated Mars in birth chart. A debilitated planet in the 3rd house gives exceptions results. In Navamsha Moon is in the sign of Saturn  getting the aspect of Saturn which makes Zelensky a very honest and committed political person. But Moon here is a functional malefic for his Taurus lagan chart which we should not forget.

He is into a difficult period of Moon-Jupiter at present. Jupiter as the lord of 8th house is placed in the 2nd house a ‘Mraka Bhava’. The anter dasha of a functional malefic in the maha dasha of another functional malefic is not considered good as per ‘Laghu Parashari’. This Moon-Jupiter period is from June 2021 to October 2022. The the sub period of Saturn from October 2022 to May 2024 can also give him difficulties as Saturn is in its enemy sign Leo in birth chart and in Dashamsha it is in the 12th house. In transit Saturn is already hovering on his natal Sun which is in Capricorn Rashi right in the 7th house from his natal Moon. After her independence Ukraine declared itself a neutral state forming partnership with both Russia and NATO in 1994. Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe after Russia. It has maintained the 3^rd largest military in Europe after Russia and France. Having a very fertile farmlands Ukraine is one of the largest exporter  of food grains in the world but it don’t have good infrastructure to established many heavy industries and IT companies.

Moon is afflicted by retrograde Saturn in both Rashi and Navamsha chart which made Ukraine one of the most poorest country in her neighbourhood in Europe and at present it is a ‘developing nation’ ranking 74^th in the Human Development Index.

As per Jaimini system the Karakamsha of Ukraine is Virgo where a malefic planet Mars is placed. The 4^th house from Karakamsha has Rahu which is an inauspicious Jaimini Yoga. The 12^th house from Karakamsha has as many as 4 planets and two other planets (Moon and Saturn) influence them by Jaimini aspects. So the major planetary concentration on the 12^th house from Karakamsha has kept Ukraine under poverty and made them suffer severe corruption.

Russia-Ukraine Crisis and Saturn transit from Dhanishta Nakshatra 

Jupiter maha dasha started in August 2013 in the foundation horoscope of Ukraine. Jupiter is a functional malefic for Capricorn lagna chart. Jupiter as the 3rd lord in the 8th house has to give Ukraine tensions at her borders as the 3rd house is the house of border conflicts.

In year 2013, then President Viktor Yanukovych decided to suspend ‘Ukraine -European Union Association Agreement’ and seek closer economic ties with Russia. This led to a major civil unrest and public protests known as ‘Ukrainian Revolution 2014’ which overthrew the government of Yanukovych which ignited Russian president Vladimir Putin. This was the period of Jupiter-Jupiter (August 2013 to September 2015) in the foundation horoscope of Ukraine at that time. Jupiter as the lord of 3^rd (border clashes) and 12^th (foreign invasion) houses in conjunction with 6^th (strife and public protests) and 9^th lord (foreign treaty) Mercury in the birth chart amply explain this event. In Navamsha Jupiter is the lord of 9^th and 12^th houses in conjunction with 3^rd and 6^th houses lord Mercury is getting the aspect of lagan and 8^th lord Mars which later resulted into a war with Russia when at the order of Putin the Russian troops invaded the eastern parts of Ukraine and annexed Crimea formally on the 18^th of March 2014.

Now the period of Jupiter-Venus is running from 14 June 2021 to 13 February 2024. Jupiter and Venus both are combust with 8^th lord Sun and they are in the 8^th house from both lagan and Moon which is inauspicious. In transit the Aquarius sign gets only 20 points in ‘Sarvashtaka Varga’ and in the Bhinnashataka Varga of Saturn there are only 2 points which are not very good. So dasha of Jupiter-Venus and transit of Saturn from Aquarius both are not much favourable for Ukraine in year 2022 and also in 2023.

Foundation Horoscope of Russia

12 June 1990, 13:45 hours at Moscow (37 E 36’, 55 N 45’) with balance of 8 years 8 months 1 days of Moon dasha.

In the Virgo lagna horoscope of Russia Moon is in Shravan Nakshatra over which the Saturn has been hovering throughout year 2021. Russia has slowly build-up a strength of 100 thousands solders at its border with Ukraine. Russia is under maha dasha of Rahu and anter dasha of Moon from July 2021 to January 2023. Then  anter dasha of Mars will follow which is in the 7th house of its foundation chart and is getting the 3rd aspect of 6th lord Saturn. So the year 2023 will be extremely difficult  for Russia as it will suffer from terrorist attacks and international sensations. There is a very high possibility that Russia may get isolated diplomatically by European Union and USA in year 2023. In year 2022 during Rahu-Moon dasha period Russia can make the mistake of attacking Ukraine’s borders at some places which will prove eventually costly to him later on.
