An early onset of summer in the month of March and the record temperature has surprised meteorologist in India. As per the Indian Meteorological Department the temperature in the month of March at many places was above normal for about 6 to 7 degrees. The city of Ahmedabad touched 42.8 degrees, Nagpur recorded 43 degrees, Allahabad and Varanasi recorded 40 degrees and so as the national capital Delhi. The heat waves in the second fortnight of March surprised meteorologist but not the astrologers. I had predicted about the early onset of summer season, record breaking heat waves and delay in south-west monsoon in my article ” Transit of Sun and Forecasting Summer Season Trends for 2017″ .
Now in the current year the planetary indications are showing the possibility of a delay and an erratic monsoon season which may end up being below normal. As per the astro-meteorology classics the main culprits in the scarcity of rainfall are Mars and Saturn, both dry planets. When Mars is ahead of the Sun in transit and Saturn is also in retrograde motion then it gives delay in rainfall. In the months of May and June this situation will create delay in the onset of south-west monsoon in the country.
Possible delay in the onset of South-West Monsoon
The south-west monsoon winds originate from the Indian Ocean. These moisture-laden winds get divided in two parts just before reaching the coastal areas of Kerala around 29th of May. One part of monsoon-winds travel through the Bay of Bengal moving towards West-Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Eastern-U.P. etc. The other arm of the south-west monsoon winds travels through the Arabian Sea bringing rain in the southern peninsula and western parts of the country. The pre-monsoon showers begin from May 23. So the planetary position in the second fortnight of May holds a special importance in deciding whether the onset of monsoon will be on time or not.
This year the south-west monsoon is likely to get delay in reaching the coastal areas of Kerala. Mars transiting from Rohini Nakshatra and retrograde Saturn in fiery sign Sagittarius are the planetary indication of delay in south-west monsoon.
In the month of June there will be less than normal rain. The monsoon express will get delay in reaching Kerala, Maharashatra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal etc.
Ardra Pravesh horoscope 2017 (Sun’s entry into Ardra Asterism)
22 June 2017 at 05:09 hours at Delhi
In the Ardra Pravesh horoscope the Sun is behind Mars which shows delay and scanty rains. The Moon is receiving the aspect of both Saturn and Jupiter. The aspect of retrograde Saturn on the Moon shows delay in rain and the aspect of Jupiter indicate a recovery later on. The south-west monsoon clouds will not be able to reach on time in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. The scanty rain will create the draught like conditions and scarcity of water at these places till the first fortnight of July. There will be less than normal rainfall till the first fortnight of July due to the above mention planetary configuration.
Mars in Cancer and good rainfall in second fortnight of July
The transiting Mars will enter into Cancer rashi on the 11th of July. The transit of Mars from water sign Cancer is consider to be a rain giving combination as per the classics of astro-meteorology. Saturn would have also reach in the Scorpio, another watery sign, in retrograde motion. The position of Mars and Saturn in watery signs will give good rainfall in the second fortnight of July. The central parts of India signified by Cancer sign will receive very heavy rainfall during the second fortnight of July. In Madhya Pradesh and Chattishgarh there will be floods after 16th of July when Sun will enter into Cancer sign.
Sun’s entry into Cancer
16 July 2017 at 16:25 hours at Delhi
See the horoscope cast at the time of Sun’s entry into Cancer sign. There are as many as five planets in watery signs. The Sun in the watery sign along with Mars and Mercury is an indication of good rainfall during 16th of July to 16th of August. Moon is in Pisces receiving the aspect of Jupiter is another good feature of this horoscope. There will be plenty of rain in the second fortnight of July which will give relief to the farmers from the delay in south-west monsoon. However, the planetary combinations during the period from 16th of July to 16th of August suggest that there will be flood at many places in the country destroying lives and properties. The worst affected would be the central and eastern parts of the country. The flood in Madhya Pradesh, Chattishgarh, Orissa, Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa will be severe during the second fortnight of July and first fortnight of August.
Sun’s entry into Leo and slowdown of monsoon
Sun will enter into Leo sing on the 16th of August. The Jupiter transiting ahead of Sun is a combination of slowing down of rainfall as per the Bhavishya Phala Bhaskara. The Jupiter in Virgo will be ahead of Sun till the mid of September. Later Mars entering into Leo sign on the 27th of August will further slowdown the pace of monsoon express. The Sun and Mars conjunction in Leo will give less than normal rainfall in the first fortnight of September. This this year the south-west monsoon rainfall will be very erratic and unevenly distributed.
The rainfall will be less than normal till 16th of July. The period between 16th of July to 16th of August will give above normal rainfall. Thus in the month of June there will be less than normal rainfall. In July and August the rainfall will be normal. In September it will be below normal. The south-west monsoon season will end with around 90% of Long Period Average rainfall.
